  • hey , it is possible you get some skate disco for me? I love this kind of sound mix

  • Great music

  • haha,i never took you for the skating type, you might like the small slightly sheltered skate area on the southbank!

  • I am not the skating type. I enjoy watching them. I am a skater voyeur.

  • old&gay

  • skater voyeur lol, this is good.

  • Absolute Bliss!

  • Glad you watched and enjoyed it.

  • Variety! If only...

  • Exactly.

  • They're fun.

  • They certainly are, and some of them quite talented.

  • Joy is right! What a happy video. Thank you!

  • Thanks Ken. I really enjoyed working on this one.

  • Total joy and ~acceptance~ of one another through skating! Love it!!!

  • It is inspiring.

  • that guy with the dress and the tights and the green beard and the hat and the bird and the dog in the stroller (did i miss anything?) was crazy.

  • Yet he seemed so comfortable in his own skin. It takes all kinds.

  • Thanks a lot, I was in new york last October and sow a lot of the guys that are in the video, the old man has the best moves. You cheered up my day, thanks again.

  • So glad you enjoyed it.

  • I know how tempted you must've been to throw a pair on and get down wit da homies. :)

  • I know the lady at 3:10 was!

  • She reminded me of Disco Granny from the old Studio 54 days.

  • i'd break my neck if i tried any of that on skates. :P btw, that old man dancing was awesome. :D

  • He was great, as was the greenbearded guy with the poodle and the parrot.

  • I didn't realize they still did this. I remember seeing this often, many many years ago.

  • As far as I know it has been continuous.

  • You are really good about replying to comments.

  • My presence on YouTube is small enough that I can reply to most comments. Most of my commenters are loyal viewers who comment frequently and I get to know who they are. The interactivity is the what draws me to YouTube. I post on other video sites, but I don't get the personal, individualized feedback I get here. So, I reply to comments because it completes the circle for me. It is why I am here.

  • not really... but i love how he decked out his bike to have a bat mobile....

  • "I'm Batman"

  • Batman is really into being batman. With the Batcycle!

  • This is so cool, Phil! Looks like fun, too!

  • I wish I had the energy and flexibility to join them, but I had vicarious fun.

  • What an incredible video. you must have been channeling Federico Fellini when you put this one together. The characters almost looked scripted, it makes you stand in awe of the celebration of life that can be inspired when you just let go.

  • Thing is, sometimes you find things in reality that you couldn't get away with in fiction. What I love is that despite the wide range of diversity in this group, everybody seems to accept everybody without judgment. It is a great lesson.

  • Yes I agree, and that was my second observation, how as you say, every one was into the same groove, so non-judgmentally.

  • What a great event to capture. You always seem to know just where to be, in order to bring all of these wonderful thing to us. Thanks.

    GG

  • I went out with my camera and no plans. This was serendipity.

  • I would recognize Zippy's 2 bearded triplet brothers and Battim anywhere.

    Did you dance?

  • Who knew Tim was so graceful.

    I won't dance, don't ask me.

  • I like the guy in purple.

    Mooz

  • He could definitely cut a rug.

  • What a lively group there.

    Nice music too Phil.

    Luvs,

    Mooz

  • Great cinema! This is different from what one expects to see on Youtube - which is awesome.

  • Thanks. Now and then I like to depart from the norm. This whole scene caught my imagination this weekend and I wanted to do it justice.

  • great video, and the editing is wonderful !

    thanks for sharing.

  • Thanks. I enjoyed working on this one. Glad you enjoyed it.

  • Great edit/music Phil..thx for sharing.

  • Thanks for watching. I would like to have used the music they were actually dancing to, but you know YouTube and copyright issues. Jason's music worked really well, though.

  • The old gentleman with the white beard sure could move lol

Hope im that lively when im at his age ¬.¬

  • He had lots of stamina too. I shot for about an hour and he never stopped moving.

  • Look at the bois! Yummy! Now I'm feeling exuberant, too!

    Great work, Phil.

  • Yes, there is some eye candy :)

  • Phil why aren't you out there shaking your fool thang?

  • My death panel representative advised against it.

  • Roller boogie makes a comeback... sorta.

    :-)

  • It never left this spot in the park. It has been going on as long as I can remember.

  • Now THAT is cool.

Incidentally, I might need more coffee because at first I read it as "I never left this spot in the park," and I wondered to myself... is he still there now two days later??

    [rubbing temples]

  • I never left that spot either. I have been there as long as I can remember. Of course my short term memory is not so good these days.

Of course my short term memory is not so good these days.

    Of course....

  • Heh, I love dancing; they seem like they're having fun. We should all be so lucky.

    Peace Phil.

  • It made everybody feel better, not just the participants but everybody watching.

  • aren't people wonderful !

green beard's got quite a getup!

Notice how eclectic everyone is, and they all dance together. That is New York City, right there.

  • He definitely knows how to work a petticoat.

Yes, it is New York in a microcosm.
