  • i have the reminton 870 expess and i love it to death its my fav gun i own

  • what are those green and black shells at 1:28 ?

  • @UnnamedThinker they are military issue oobuck they have a winchester hull and 9 unplated pellets

  • And it is really easy to clean.

  • Comment removed

  • I wish I still had my 870. Some jerk stole it.

  • @MarkTyler84 LOL the irony

  • Unfortunately they seem to have replaced most of the shotgun racks in the front seats of squad cars with laptops. Freeze criminal or you will be googled!

  • @MrTRUCID0 The racks are on the ceilings of the cruisers.

  • the mossberg 590 or the remington 870 are all you need.i own both and they do everything i need.

  • which camo are these shotgun use

  • How do u train all day with buckshot and the factory recoil pads?! I'm finished after 30 shells...

  • Boba Fett cool... LOL I'm so going to use that.

  • i bought an 870 Police Magnum

  • my buddy has a old police shotgun from a prison with worn out coating where they rang it against the prison bars. major boba fett cool

  • boba fett cool!!! XD

  • Im happy with my 870, no offense Mossberg lol

  • I went out and bought a Remington 870 express tactical, after watching your video.

    You're a great resource!

  • @snoozer987 thinking about doing the same thing in a month or so when I come into some extra cash.

  • @nutnfancy. A interesting point of.interist. the 870. Has been around a very long time.and the.action is virtually unchanged.. amazing... Also. Mossberg 590 a.1. Or remington 870. Either way ur winning.the gun fight...

  • @nutnfancy, i am a retired.Marine and i.bought an 870 9 years ago.. i also own a winchester defender... (I.boght that one in 1988)

And i am planning on buying a 590 a1 next....mossberg. i am all about reliability..and things.that work well in adverse conditions or crazy weather..

Keep it up murphy.always.shows up so save him a seat :) Semper-fi!

  • @Nutfnacny, I bought an 870 Tactical Express recently with the breach choke and picitany rail with the ghost sight. I then looked on Ebay and found the Talo stocks like in your shotgun and installed it. Also installed a side saddle and swing. Awesome! Best 870 out there. First and second kind of cool.

  • Yes, the Ithaca M37 trench-gun version has the hand guard that I would prefer and a bayonet lug for the M1's bayonet I could do without.

  • an old wooden 70s era 870 should never be refinished. the more beat up the cooler it looks. so Dirty Harry cool.

  • I recently acquired an old police 870 Riot Wingmaster, 1976 vintage. Wood stock, 20" cylinder bore, bead sight and lots of rack wear; but it has to have the slickest action of any pump gun I've handled. And, the trigger assembly is aluminum.

  • I lol'd when you were running around shooting plastic jugs @ 14:59

  • good videos, what do you suggest as an ideal barrel length for general pest hunting ie rabbits, possums (yup NZ calling here) ? I hear everything from 22 inch to 28 inch? Some in the bush and some in the open to make it harder to choose too.

  • i like the way the grip is shaped on the factory stock of my 870. i want the benefits of a recoil reducing stock but without the pistol grip. Anyone know of any non pistol grip recoil reducing stocks designed for my 870?

  • @anticannoneer knoxx sells one for the 870

  • whats the best stock to put on my rem 870? the normal stock kicks too hard and ill leave it up to you guntech-savvy people to give me a reccomendation.

  • @anticannoneer I'm savvy with guns but have not researched a lot for upgrading stocks....I'm a big guy so I don't normally have a problem with a weapon kicking to0 hard lol but you might look at some of the M4 style stocks...I dunno for certain...but it might have (and forgive the lack of proper vernacular here but I'm having a brain fart lol) the plug in the stock that is supposed to assist with compensating and reducing the kick, but you can google Rem 870 stocks and get hundreds of options

  • @Jksnk101 and most will tell you which assist in reducing kick. That is what I usually do, then I find one that I like and research it specifically and see what people who have used that particular stock think about it. Then just try and find it as cheap as you can get it cause, in my experience, a lot of stuff like this is trial and error. Everyone is different and will like/dislike things that others might think are good or bad. Hope this helps lol I know very generic answer haha

  • any ideas for me to tactical up my ithica 37 featherlight 12g pump??

  • me and my brother are going to make a shotgun rap song...somthing like..."blow my wad...ow skeet skeet skeet skeet skeet skeet"

  • This review was Boba-Fett cool!

  • I have a hand me down 870 that was made in the 80's still wood furnished and i love it :) ps good review

  • I'm not crazy about pump shotguns. Compared to an auto-loader, they're slow. I prefer my modified Baikal MP-153 semi-auto. It's very accurate, stands up to dirt and mud, and has a faster firing rate compared to a pump.

  • SWEET !!!!

  • I love the heat shield bickering. I had mine off during a full breakdown/clean and didn't put it back on before we went to war with some clays. After 20 rounds or so it was plenty hot. I flipped it over my shoulder in a transition drill and I could feel the heat through my t-shirt. To all those claiming it doesn't get that hot. Post a video of you shooting 20-30 rounds then grabbing the barrel... we could all use the laugh.

  • Nothing like a good shotgun! Best close quarter weapon of all times!

  • where can you get a remington 870 for $300? all the ones around where i am (NC) are for 375+, and the used ones around here are still around $315+.....any suggestions?

  • @am64135 Cabelas has good deals, you just need to watch the adds, they go on sale all of the time. Check bass pro or cabelas websites. I see some good deals at dicks sporting goods. Also time of year matters, right now, with hunting season coming up I think it's harder to get a good deal. The mossberg's are usually a few bucks cheaper than remington, and just as good, but get what you want you'll use it more.

  • I love the safety check 54 minutes into the series. :D

  • Hey Mr. Nutnfancy. Great review but I'm wondering why you got the thumbs not activated. You do those video so professional, you will get 90/95% thumbs up. That should bring more views and I think you DESERVE more views. Think about it, man! Greetings from germany.

  • wow most of the comments about the heat shield is so over sold i rather have a lighter gun if I'm doing a 10 mile patrol in WROL (thanks for the term Nutn) if your facing a army of bad guys coming at you burning my fingers on a hot barrel are the least of my worries. and i don't need to get stronger if my shotgun weights 12 pounds i need a lighter gun.

  • Very helpful so far. moving on to part 3...

  • he just said that the 590 had the slide release at the front of the tirgger guard its behind the trigger guard u could c it in the background

  • I whole heartedly agree with you on the ergonimic discrepencies of the safety and slide release. I have long fingers but even I can't reach them without shifting my grip to some degree. Do you know if they make any trigger assemblies that address this issue?

  • I HAVE BLOWN UP SOOOOOOOOO MANY 870 BARRELS! BUT ONLY DO TO A USER SCREW UP BAD RELOADS FOLLOW UP SHOT WITH A WAD STUCK IN THE BARREL BUT THE GUNS ARE TOUGH! WHAT I LOVE IS THEY ARE VERY VERSITILE AS A TOOL RATHER THAN JUST A WEAPON. MINE HAS WORKED WELL AS A BOAT OAR MORE TIMES THAT I CAN COUNT A WALKING STICK CHECKIN FOR DROP OFFS OR HOLES WEN CROSSING A RIVER FELL OFF THE QUAD INTO THE MUD BEFORE A DUCK HUNT TOSSED IT IN THE WATER TO RINSE OFF THE MUD A SHOT A LIMIT WITH ZERO MALFUNTIONS!

  • Using skinny "police" fore grips on an 870, it's not hard or even uncommon to have your fingertips slide against/along the barrel. Just one tube of slugs down the pipe can cause burns. Customers at the gun shop where I work have had similar experiences--most are fellow veterans or current/retired LEO. That said, I don't have one on my tactical 870. Don't whine, complain about the weight given their usefulness...get stronger. W/out heatshields, bayonet lugs on one are nearly pointless, btw.

  • i have a friend who was SF in afghanistan and he says that he got to use an 870 and a benelli m4. he said the m4 was good but the 870 was hands down the most efficient shotgun he was able to use. said an 18" 870 is a surgeon's tool when clearing rooms. viciously accurate.

  • I am not a shotgun fan and I asked myself why am I watching this?

  • shotgun accessories vid?

  • anyone else ever wonder why a 12 gauge shotgun sounds like a bb gun in nutnfancy's videos?

  • 24:59 EXCUSE ALERT

  • couldnt you just counter sync the reciever and get a flat head hex bolt to replace that?

  • BOBA FETT COOL FTW!!!

  • any preference or reasoning for the orientation of shotshells in a side saddle? primer up or down?

  • @Kinjaffa much faster to load that way. you dont have to twist your wrist and come over the top of the gun when tactically loading. now an exception is if you aren't shooting from a sling and/or your transferring to weak side flipping the gun over and loading with your strong hand they can go either way it doesnt really slow you down up or down.

  • what is the model/make of the light mount at 14:36

  • Hey, what is a recommended light and mount for the Rem.870 Tactical?

  • @MrHardPressed I am really happy with my streamlight TLR and and mag tube rail. that is if you have a mag tube extension...

  • this is a fucking long video

  • the zombie pwnz0r

  • What kinda sling are you rockin on your 870 nutn?\

  • You think the placement of the safety becomes less of an issue with a pistol grip?

  • I don't like the side saddles for extra rounds i think most of you guys put them on because they look pretty. I have a 870 tactical and i always have 6 in the mag. if i need more then that i'm in trouble. And if i do need more then that i will wear a belt with 25 more rounds on it. I rather have the extra weight on me then the gun.

  • @TinSoIdier One nice thing about it is you can grab the gun and go and not have to worry about picking up something else for extra ammo.

  • Excellent review as always. Just bought 870 express tactical synthetic for $369 from BassPro...Thanks for the video

  • I have an old Winchester 1300 Waterfowl that has a metal trigger guard

  • I have to disagree with the statement that the heat shield is useless on a shotgun. In a WROL scenario, if you engage a group of individuals whose intention is to raid/loot your home / homes in your neighborhood, you might be forced to shoot and reload, A LOT. Even 1 box of 25 birdshot shells will warm up the barrel in under 5 minutes. If you are engaged in a firefight for 30 minutes, the last thing you need to contend with is a heated barrel that you can't touch. A shield weighs less than 1 lb.

  • @centurion205 You're out of your mind. I'm not saying the heatshield isn't useless, but your reasoning couldn't be more wrong. You think that if someone is coming into your house to steal and you hear him, that it's all of a sudden going to turn into a Wild West battle? That couldn't be more wrong. Hell, if you catch the person stealing, that about all you need - there gone back the way they came. Now say you catch them and have a gun in your hand. You don't even need to fire, nevermind reload.

  • @soocl0se You seem to forget I was describing a WROL situation. I'm aware that chances of the barrel ever becoming fully hot are rare, but also you have to take into account if you wanna be profficient with this weapon, you have to train with it, and that means shooting more than just a box of 5 buckshot shells. Lately around the nation, most break ins occur involving 2 / 3 individuals, so the need to practice engaging multiple targets is essential. Disagree if you want, no need for disrespect.

  • @centurion205 lol engaged in a 30min firefight with a shotgun? You vs. a group of threats that would rather spend a half hour risking their lives in a shooting when they can try next door?? Talk about lack of reality. That hot barrel that you don't even touch in your imaginary firefight is totally worth the extra pound...

  • @gunut4FMJ Laugh all you want. Wanna know who 1st told me about that 1/2 hour fight with shotguns? My friend Sgt. Conner Davis, USMC, who did 2 tours in Iraq and was assigned their military version of the Mossberg 500 for close quarter combat. He told me there were a few instances where he was engaged in fights and literally had to keep shooting/reloading, and continuing on for up to 1/2 an hour. He said in those rare fights, the barrels weren't red hot, but hot enough he had to get gloves on.

  • @centurion205 His barrel got so hot that he stopped during the firefight to put on gloves? With one hand on the back of the receiver working the trigger and the other hand on the front hand-guard working the action, how was he getting burnt? How many rounds did he fire in this half-hour firefight?

  • @gunut4FMJ So the next time your sorry ass decides to "LOL" at someone, why don't you take the oppurtunity to be an adult and ask the reasons for why I / others would do the things we do. And if you still wanna laugh, come down to Texas and you can meet face to face with Sgt. Conner Davis, though you'll have to lean over to shake his hand. Both of his legs got blown off by some damn IED two months before the end of his 2nd tour. So on his behalf, know your fucking role and shut your damn mouth !

  • @centurion205 Your scenario is ridiculous and not realistic. I can comment about it however I like. You can act like an adult yourself and not throw around the information of your injured friend to try and win an argument. Real classy...

  • @centurion205 When is the last time you heard of any type of home invasion ending with a 30 minute firefight. You are the reason people don't like normal people to have guns.

  • @jetripplef amen. I wish I could find the quote so I could cite it... but I recall the FBI stats on shootings in America stated that almost all "firefights" occur within like 12' and no more than 3 or 4 shots are fired, total. Unless you're in the Army (or living near Mexico's drug cartels) buying a weapon based on its combat ability is silly. A .22 semi-auto pistol is just as effective (statistically) as anything else when it comes to home defense in America. Cite stats that differ plz.

  • @jetripplef You obviously don't live out in the country do you asshole? You also never heard of what happened in Louisiana AFTER Katrina finally died off. Those outside the city knew the police forces, including state & guard, were concentrated on the densly populated areas. Out in the middle of the countryside, where the nearest cop is a 20 minute call away, sometimes you need to worry about defending yourself for a long period of time and that's during normal conditions, not a WROL situation.

  • @centurion205

I have to agree. Heat shields are light and "oh, that's toasty" is always a better feeling than "ARGH!!!!! MY F-CKING HAND!!!!!" In John Carpenter's "Assault on Precinct 13," the actor actually burns his hand on a 1897 riot gun. While it may be a movie, the point is that your hand is going to be moving around a hot barrel... a lot.

  • @MrHongKongBuffet Exactly. Right now our country is at peace, but ( hypothetically ) imagine somehow we turned into what's going on in Lybia (an undeclared civil war). If you're appointed to guard your home or street, and all you have is a shotgun to defend with, an overheated barrel in the middle of a potential firefight is the last thing you need. What good is a weapon if you got plenty of ammo, but you can't shoot it cause you can't touch it? They're lightweight, inexpensive and they work !

  • @centurion205 I am hearing too many ridiculous "What if" comments. Most people would run out of shells before they fired enough to get a burn. Perhaps if you are taking on the Chinese army and have no backup but then again, you have more to worry about than a heat shild and I doubt St.Peter will care. We can all imagine ourselves Rambo

but if you have so many people shooting at you that you have to rock non-stop to get out of it for 30 minutes, I doubt you have a chance anyways.

  • @centurion205 Why would you touch the barrel . . . Doesn't need the heat shield. Maybe if your heat/pain tolerance is very low . . .

  • @EmY008800 If you fire a lot and then have to move, then you could during the move, touch the barrel. I'm reffering to the entire length of the barrel, not just the very end of it, that gets hot. I just went to the range this last weekend, and after only 10 shots of buckshot the barrel was very warm. After an additional 25 rounds of birdshot, the front 2 inches of the barrel which is not covered by the heat shield was too damn hot to touch. All this in under 20 minutes. You try it yourself.....

  • Why does Mr. Bad guy have to be Brown??? lol

  • @Kordazone510 because if you look carefully, the other 2 bad guys(white) are hiding behind Mr Brown...lol! mr brown got the short straw this round.

  • but i have and love my Remington 870. i just have to train and get more proficient with it to be more comfortable...then train more!

  • @Kordazone510 If you think that target is brown then you're fucking color blind...

  • @Kordazone510 They used to be black but OBVIOUSLY that had to change. Went a shade lighter. My hometown he's BLOOD red

  • @Kordazone510 Realism ;)

  • Why does Mr. Bad guy have to be Brown??? lol

  • At 13:31, is that a Bayonet lug on the 590? if so, what kind does it take?

  • @Gamerguy94 yes it is i think it will take same bayonets as the ar15/m16

  • Another excellent video, as usual!

  • the whole grip sidesaddle thing was pretty badasss......

  • nice utg best....lol

  • all good guns, but the 870 revolutionized pump shotguns. Plus i prefer the safety on the 870 compared to the mossberg

  • So you never got to the Winchester 1300 Defender... :(

  • What kind of gloves are you wearing in this video?

  • @sweetstickyicky DAMASCUS Interceptor X

  • @WarIsNeverPretty I ordered a pair of Interceptor X gloved in the beginning of April and they're still back-ordered :( still waiting

  • @sweetstickyicky Sorry to hear that. Try setting up a claim to paypal if you've ordered them from eBay.

  • Im guessing Kel-tec completely changed up the name of the game for combat shotgun at Shot Show 2011, that bullpup 12ga would make an intruder defecate themselves

  • HOOAH!!!! I HAVE THOSE SAME MILITARY GRADE 9 PELLET WINCHESTER BUCK SHOT :)

  • I like your yellow gloves, what is it ?

  • I believe it is pronounced "Nat" rather than "Not" in Natchez as in Natchez, Mississippi. Just saying.

  • Nice pic of a JSO police car

  • nice vid..

  • Boba Fett cool hahah have to say im a 590 guy

  • if u have a pistolgrip mossberg safety is retarded ima 870 lover

  • What exactly is a 'speedfeed' stock? Does it just hold an additional shell close to hand?

  • @guiltybystander77 It has 4 shells stored in the stock.

  • You forgot to list Benelli, Nutn!

  • do longer and shorter barrels really affect accuracy or ballistics in a shotgun?...im not sure if it applies or not enough to really be noteworthy...my reason for thinking this is i want a 10 inch barrel on a saiga and im wondering if i would just be better off with a 18 or so

  • Wheres the Benelli Pump Guns?

  • I know what I want for christmas, haha. unfortunately I doubt it would be very easy to own one of these here in Australia, what with our illogical firearms laws.

  • Picking up a Remy 870 Police in the morning. $275 used. Not bad at all. Ordered a Mesa Tactical 6-shell side-saddle and a Wilson Combat +2 extension. Plenty of 500's and 590/A1's, but this is my first 870 and I'm hyped.

    Great video by the way!

  • How could you not consider the Ithaca 37, after its proven performance in the Vietnam Conflict and during World War II as a trench gun?

  • Ithaca 37 is technically better because its proven but this is more modern

  • @VALVEGAMER20 I contend that the Remington 870 is also proven considering its 6 decades of manufacture and adoption by various government agencies across the world

  • arent you supposed to put sideshells in brass up so they don't fall out?

  • @jakerox43

No. It's easier and natural to pull out ammo from the bottom (brass down). Those side saddles are pretty good at gripping onto ammo so they never fall out. I've been using mine for years and no issues...

  • @jakerox43 I think so, but if you've got a side-saddle that grips the shell really tight, it shouldn't matter too much.

  • What Sling do yo have on the 870?

  • boba fett cool.haha

  • Part 3?

  • browning shotgun= win

  • What ever happened to BuggetNuster?

  • Do you recommend a three point sling for the tactical 870?

  • I wonder if I could get Sadlymissing to do my rifle in that Talo Digicam color that looks wicked. I think it could work well in Urban and Wooded areas.

  • Comment removed

  • Can you tell me who makes the light clamp that is holding the surefire E2D on the black 870?

  • Comment removed

  • the safety feature on the mossberg i feel like is def the way to go, that being said, I have a moss 500 and if you notice on the safety it slides forward and rearward, I noticed on mine if I were to shoot a high power round, the safety would slide into safety position in the middle of poppin off rounds. So sometimes you need to make sure thats tightened up well before you go shooting. Ever hear of that happening from your son or anyone else?

  • i have a freakin remington model 10 with a 20 inch barrel from WW1

  • @nightshade288 nice man. I have my family heirloom winchester model 1897 "trench gun" Shotty from world war 1 as well. But i love my 870! click click boom stick!

  • @thehaikucircus I have a m-1897 to thast thing is a beast....It knocked me on my as when i was 14 years old. It is a strong gun..Im picking up a 870 tonight to try it out. Basspro has them on sale for $259.99 with a 50 dollar rebate and an aditional 30 dollar rebat.

  • i love your videos man. they are very informative*. ive been thinking bout getting the Remington 870 for awhile now and you have pretty much got me sold. keep up the videos!

  • you need to make a vid of the rimington 887 mag nitro

  • What's he mean when he say's he runs his sling topside and more tactical? What's that look like on the shotty?

  • Did you say shoot Mr. Bad guy ? Who is Mr. bad guy ? Well, any towlhead who chants det to amica is a bad guy. However,in my opinion, all the Democrats in our Government, with a few exceptions are the real enemy, the real bad guys. What's that funny saying about guns....Guns kill people like Rosie O'Donnells fork made her a fat load ! NutnFANCY DUDE,YOU ROCK ! THANX

  • at 16:11, damn thats a buff silhouette

  • I like how the mossberg doesnt have that flap where you put shells and the saftey location is supreme

  • @luciax402 You need how to spell dumb fuck

  • @farmer6987 -----"You need how to spell"-----lmao----dont try to remove the splinters from your neighbors eye untill you get the LOG out of your own...ROFL

  • Nut N Fancy? When patterning OO Buck. Should you use Winchester loads in a Winchester 1300 (My Favorite as well) and Remington loads with a Remington 870. Or does it really matter. Will one brand pattern better then another. Or do we need to do a lot of experiments? Let me know, I enjoy all of your video's.

  • Love my 870, also got the walnut police stocks on mine, so it's walnut and steel and it just has so much more class than synthetics.

  • do you shoot other sorts of weapons like pistols or hunting rifles?

  • i have a 12 guage with camo stock . use it for target shooting

  • @Millard97

    no you dont

  • @cleansing666 yes actually i do , and how would you know this? :)

  • @Millard97

and by the way, youre an ugly little geek. your parents wish youd been an abortion

  • @cleansing666 Btw your a cocky little fuck aint ya ? , come over to canada or where ever the fuck you are and say it to my face you lil bitch

  • @Millard97

lol. you little canadian goof. i laughed for fifteen minutes at your "gun review" videos. you remind me of a down syndrome version of Justin Bieber, only from Canada, so automatically an ASSCLOWN. lol. when i come up to canada and say this to your face, will you be able to avoid one of your "trips to the shooting range to shoot some clips"? lol. you sad, sad fuckstain

  • @cleansing666 Bud stop waisting your time on the internet , and get off your mothers couch and pay the bills and on the other hand get out and do somethin useful? and get some exercise instead of playing world of warcraft , you lil flamer

  • haha never heard any one say bobafett cool lol

  • What kind of shells are on the talo one?

  • great review!!!!

  • If Big Green puts a composite trigger guard on a Police combat shotgun, I would trust it..

  • @FloridaSnookHunter

because youre a mook and a shill. Remington actually sucks peepee these days. But you wouldnt know, youre a clown that talks out of his ass like most on youtube

  • @cleansing666 LOL

  • do you make some video about semi auto rifles? Like AR 15 clones, CZ 858, Ruger mini 14 etc... Thx

  • @Gangster88232 Hes got a Mini 14, Krebs KTR-08, Kel Tec SU-16C, Arsenal SGL-21/31, Ruger SR556, and a few other full sized combat rifle reviews.
