  • what a dumb son of a bitch... if he chases big corporations out of america there will be NO economy... thank goodness he dropped out

  • John Edwards is weak, and he is finished politically. The voters have REJECTED him.

No, not neo-con's or right-wingers but democrats. He is REJECTED!

  • Wrong. He can win NV.

  • WRONG-he can win syphliss!

  • i love john edwards

  • dtaijo174 , MAN he's not giving more power/control to the government. He really did that was Bush. President Edwards administration IS NOT GOING TO SPY ON IT'S CITIZENS, IT'S NOT GONNA MONITOR WHAT KIND OF BOOKS YOU BORROW FROM THE LIBRARY, EDWARDS WOULD NEVER BRINGBACK MILITARY TRIBUNALS LIKE BUSH DID. People are STRUGGLING TO MAKE THE END MEET, THEY NEED A LITTLE BIT OF HELP AND THAT'S WHAT EDWARDS WANTS TO DO, HELP PEOPLE

  • Yeah, and just because he won't be able to do any of that, doesn't mean he is an idiot in any way!

  • asdffd -- that statement says it all

    John Edwards is the one.

  • Another great ad for a great candidate. John Edwards never forgets where he came from and never wavers from his commitment to the most fundamental of American values: ordinary people are just as valuable and deserve just as much voice in our government as the richest and most successful people in this country. Government policies haven't been based on this truth in a long, long time. Go Edwards!!!

  • Go John Edwards. Smart, humane, courageous. He was not born into the corporate elite class. I would be so proud to have him as my president.

  • A great, heartfelt and subtly passionate ad... just like the man.

As for you cynics who've watched deregulation allow cancer-causing pollution, unprecedented concentration of wealth, lead toys, etc., etc., we don't WANT your votes. Stay in dreamland and believe Rudy is really a hero and Bush is really a strong leader.

  • again i give the man credit for a good ad. But giving the government more control/power over my life is not the answer. you won't be getting my vote John...

  • I hate to repeat myself, but talking about corruption is not a good thing for Edwards to do, since he's never fought against the clearest possible example of massive government corruption: illegal immigration.

In fact, Edwards himself is corrupt. Rather than encouraging illegal aliens to return home, he wants to profit from illegal immigration by turning current illegal aliens into voters.

  • Edwards has a work ethic that is needed in the White House. Good ad.

  • Go John. more videos like this will do much to put you over the top. Stay positive and attack when you have to and we will have a man of the people and not another corporate shill of the DLC.You have my vote and support.

  • There is a VERY good reason the Republicans want to face Clinton and not Edwards- she cannot win! The latest Zogby poll shows her losing to the top five Republicans- even losing to Huckabee! In contrast John Edwards beats them all- often by double digits. Hillary will be Mondale, Dukakis, Kerry all over again- except worse. Why on earth do some Democrats insist on shooting themselves and the party in the foot?! Let's win this thing! Go John Edwards! Go America!

  • asdffd -- that statement says it all

    John Edwards is the one!!

  • As for responding to attacks, if he gets the nomination, the DNC and all the 527s will kick in and start to defend him (if he needs it), and the money that will pour in will mean that he will be well-equipped to take on any Republican nominee since (most likely), the Republicans will not be willing to accept public financing for the general.

  • I'm so tired of hearing that Edwards is "angry," as if that's a bad thing. Most Americans are angry -- about the price of food, the price of gas, the mortgage mess, corporate greed (i.e., "downsizing" to save money, even though they're raking in billions), the loss of jobs, how much it costs to go to college, the lack of health insurance, etc. What's wrong with anger when it's directed at seeking solutions? Not a GD thing.

  • I shape my own opinions. Not the corporate media. I perceive in angry tone in what he says in interviews and the debates. I don't think our country needs an angry populist to go to Washington and declare war on everybody that disagrees with him.

  • I would John Edwards more if he toned down the class warfare stuff and he stopped throwing mud at Senator Clinton. I liked him, but I have two concerns about him as the Democratic candidate. First, he is taking federal matching funds which will put him at a huge disadvantage in the spring. Second, there is too much idealistic anger in his message.

  • Class warfare has been waged for decades (since Reagan) against working Americans. Anytime someone like John Edwards decides to fight back, the corporate powers that buy politicians use the corporate-owned U.S. media to accuse people of "class warfare."

Well, it's about time someone fought back.

The war on work has been waged for years against working Americans. Edwards isn't the one who started the class war.

  • You just defined "populist!"

  • In response to your first issue, matching funds are a great move on John Edwards' part. He will now have $22M on hand vs Obama and Hillary at about $30M, making the first primary fight an even match. FYI Hillary and Obama spent $6M+ between June and September in Iowa alone vs Edwards spedning only $23K. Now they are in a dead heat based on that kind of spending when a vast majority of Iowans don't make their mind until the last month, and many will not decide until the last week.

  • The spending limits that come with the public matching funds will put him at a serious disadvantage after the primaries. The Republicans will attack him and he won't be able to defend himself. This happened to Kerry in 2004.

  • Yes, there are limits but no amount of money that any candidate raises can stop momentum if a candidate has one 2 or 3 or 4 of the January pimaries/caucuses. The funds Edwards expects to raise will be more than enough to get him thru February 5 by which point the nomination will in most likelihood be already decided.

  • You're right. The matching funds will get him through the primary with no problem. The problem is after the primaries. The general election cycle does not start until after the convention, which means that he will be held to the spending caps until the convention. Senator Edwards will have money, but he won't be able to spend it because the primaries were so expensive. The Republican candidate and the 527's can use their money to attack Edwards and he won't be able to defend himself.

  • Last time around, Kerry had $2M in online donations arrive overnight after he won Iowa, and Edwards had $1M+ arrive overnight after he came a close second. If Edwards wins most of the January primary states, he'll be in a great position to raise and spend enough money to win the nomination.

  • If he accepts matching funds, he will also have to accept spending limits. So after he gets the nomination, raising more primary election cycle money won't matter.

  • The Repugs have been practicing class warfare evertime they obtain power. It's called reverse Robin Hood, taking from the middle class and poor and giving to the most wealthy among us. How is that not class warfare?

  • It can be done and you are the guy to do it! I support you 100% in your effort!!
