buzzclark - There are many disabilities that cause individuals to have limited mobility. Meaning they may not be able to walk long distances, but are able to transfer from their chair into a regular vehicle. For those folks, these docking and stowing devices are a good fit. If you feel the wheelchair and scooter lifts would be too cumbersome for you to utilize, I would suggest looking into a lowered floor minivan that wouldn't require you to transfer from your chair. Well, I would like to see a person (wheelchair user) who is totally disabled and can ONLY ambulate using the wheelchair operate this lift by themselves. In EVERY ad there is an able bodied person operating the lift. Now WHY does an abled bodied person need a wheelchair in the first place. I am in a wheelchair and from what I have seen in these adds I would not be able to operate it. Sincerely, JAMES.
