  • Very cool you shared this :) good job!

    fran atopos from Italy

  • Always a pleasure and an interesting experience watching you start off on blank canvas. Impressed with how you worked the portrait into the colorful background u painted.

Btw, were u working while on the phone...at some point 75% into the piece? :)

  • I really liked watching this one evolve! It turned out great. Love the use of color and I especially like how you did her eyes and I love the title of the piece too. *****

  • great painting! The timelapse is super fast edits! nice one!

    raeart

  • Very niiice! That came together in a very amazing & fascinating way. L♥ved the pearls, nice touch.

  • Lovely painting and FASCINATING to watch you do it. That was really neat!

  • very good work*****

  • Thank you tremendously.

  • magnificent i love it all please let me know when you have it in print would love to buy though am soo far away

  • Thank you so much. I sure will.

  • Love it Ladessa!!! 5*****!

  • Its been a minute but finally got back here to view your video. And I still love your work. The music with this one was a pretty good choice as well. Had me watchin it a couple times listening to the music and watching you work. The detail in it this one is great and those eyes tell a very good story well to me atleat they do. Can't wait to see your next one.

  • PEARLS too!

    I love it!!

  • This is new, lot of new things here! The image is fuller, more of the body, looser in style too. The colors have more space to breathe - a difference from the earlier works where colors were tighter and more closer together.

The canvas is bigger, the artist is visible and the rhythm is embedded in the painting! This is definitely a departure video to a whole new era.

  • 3 comments. The 1st is about the painting itself & the rest r about other things.

    1) Another beautiful painting. I've always loved how expressive u r when it comes 2 the eyes. They convey a profound sense of vulnerability & pain 2 me.

    2) Keep that hoody off. I like seeing ur hair:wild and free...like me :)

3)U always choose the right music 2 set the mood. U choose music that sounds like it belongs on the montage sequence at the end of every medical drama (House, Grey's Anatomy) Love it.

  • lol

1)Thank you... I vaguely remember someone describing my eyes the same way. ;)

2)whoah now! You like the tangle dangle nappy mohawk?! Can't see it fully in the vid, but yes...it's my version of a mohawk! I mean, hey, I wasn't gonna do my hair just to paint! I put the hood on because I like to hide a little.

3)LMAO! So funny, so true! Ha! I never thought about that. I love those montage sequences, & I tend to like the songs they use. The mood & strong lyrics. Love it.

  • okay, i would love this on my wall...but just watching you create her and then reading the side info touched me sis. thanks so much for sharing.

  • Awwe, thank you for watching, reading, and feeling. Hopefully I make prints on canvas of this piece (if the original is unavailable)

  • please do! xo

  • Now, YOU, sis are amazing. I like watching YOU while you paint as well. I love the mask as well! It gives it such mystery! Nice Touch! Question: Do you find it easier to paint standing up or with the pad upward or downward after doing both on vid? Which seems easier for you?

  • So sweet. Thank you *blushing* The bandana was sent to me by mail, from a artist friend named TMNK "The Me Nobody Knows" or "Nobody". I told him I'd represent in my next video, so I wore it. Umm, good question. I'm used to painting both ways. I suppose they both have benefits. This way is easier for free form wilder musings, and facing down on the painting is easier for me when doing strict lines.

  • (continued)...but then again, keep in mind I don't pre-sketch on the canvas like many artist do. All of the paintings I have on youtube, as well as most of my work are all straight from my head to the canvas. no reference images etc. If in the future I use reference images while painting or pre-sketch, I'll be sure to say so on video or show them.

  • WOW...this collection is going to be fearless! I really enjoyed this painting so much!!!! I wonna BUY her! I see me in her! I love the faces surrounding her...watching...lurking. It adds so much story to the painting itself. "She threw the sky" the title itself having so much meaning. So many meanings actually. She's breaking threw the judgement of others in my eyes. Setting the limits and not letting the limits set her. She's strong and smiling although she is cut and bruised. I love HER!

  • I love how you see things. Yes! fearless... I'm looking foward to painting this collection.

  • Wow... I really enjoyed watching this painting coming together!

I love the blue in the hair, and the red under the eye... I really like the way you did the pearls, too.

Thanks for sharing your paints & your soul

    *sparkles*

  • *smile* Thank you Bonnie

  • Lovin the title almost as much I love the painting!... Truly enjoyed watching you work!... I see souls through eyes thrown to the sky... I am amazed as usual!...

  • Thank you Ty. The title has so much history with me. I also have it in a line in a poem of mine. :) I'm really glad you like it.

  • Awesome.

  • :D Thank you!

  • Its always impressive the way you take us through your work. ...capturing each stroke & emotion that gets stirred up. But this time, (as they're all unique in their own way) it left me stuck. Not speechless. Its breathtaking! Almost reflecting? ...like that loud silence when you look into your own eyes thru the mirror. ....very steady and aware.

  • ...such a beautiful comment. Really touched me, everything you said, means a lot to me. *sigh* Goya, you truly SEE. I painted this on your birthday! I shouted you out in the more info section.

  • Again, very enjoyable. Do one with a parasol and I'll do likewise. . .Or a fedora. . .Naw, make it a parasol. Peace.

  • Thanks! LOL! I don't think I have any fancy umbrella's. Ha, but I accept gifts! Maybe we should put our heads together and come up with something else fun to do. I'm up for it!

  • I do have a fedora type hat though! How bout it?!

  • Hi sis its so good to see you in action, your videos are so well created and with great quality. I need more practice, or a real good camera, but thanks for the motivation. This creation realy speaks out loud with such strong emotions. Nice song to go along with it, makes it come alive even more! "AWESOME" You are Blessed! "smile" Thanks for sharing always!

  • hey you! Thanks. I have a canon powershot SD750 digi cam. It may not be the best 4 video, not sure, but it's a decent camera. It has a time lapse mode that I use. As far as editing, I use the lamest program! lol. I only made a couple vids before 5 months ago when doing these, but I took to editing naturally. Just look at it as another artform and that helps. Just another way 2 present the art, creatively. Editing can feel tedious. A good tip is 2 combine transitions with effects and that works.

  • also, a lot of the effects are done by me. I take a short break from painting and I record various angles, and then I start again. So when I edit I have these different angled shots already inside of the video timeline. lol at me giving away all my secrets. Ha. I so don't care. lol. I hope this helps you.

  • nice choice of colours!!!

  • Thanx!

  • I love the colors!

  • :D great!

  • ^_^

  • Beautiful work Ladessa

  • ... enough said. Thank you, sincerely.

  • This is another one of your Masterpieces Ladessa. 5 stars.

  • :D awe, thank you. Ps. (I'll check my email manana.)

  • Beautiful!

    ~Im a fan!

  • *big smile* Awesome, I feel honored. Thank you so much Amanda. You brightened my mood.

I don't know if people realize that I pay attention to the people who like my work, but I really do... and it means a lot to me that you watched, commented, and really like this piece. I'm never sure how these pieces will be received, especially this one because it's the beginning to a new collection, but anyway... as a artist, you know how that goes! I'm really happy that you dropped by.

  • I liked this painting its very colorful like the rest of your paintings that woman you painted was that someone you knew or was that just something random you thought of

  • Thank you... aesthetically, from my mind.

  • Cool. Your welcome sista.Hotep.

  • :) Just came 2 say when I replied I was so exhausted. Hope I didn't come across short. Most of my paintings are from my heart, mind & soul. Every once in a while I do portraits which are very energy based as well. I try 2 paint not just the face but the vibe of that individual & or my emo towards them, but 4 the most part I paint a combination of people, emotions, energy, spirit, events etc. Whatever I took in empathetically or personally, & then I zone out to release it. w/ poetry 2

  • That was very moving and very deep and no i didnt take it as if you came across short.

  • whos the artist behind the song?

  • It's in the credits. Blue October.
