I've only seen Richard Thompson once - solo. That was rather amazing. Of course I have a bunch of recordings now, but I'm thinking I really need to this guy live and electric with a band.
@BQMAGOO1 Damn straight. Wasn't thinking in those terms but you're absolutely right. This is a ready-made hit for any number of female country artists (Miranda Lambert, Martina McBride, et al).. You get to say " I told you so" when one of them cuts this...and I'd be willing to lay even money that it happens sooner than later. Good call
Saw him at Celtic Connections 25 January '11. Fantastic gig. Still buzzin' with it! 38 years listening to this guy and the Fairport family and he/ they just get better.
@GrigoriSom Pretty much, yeah.... I just saw him in Ann Arbor last night - I have never seen a band SMOKE like they did! Richard Thompson remains on top of his game. Awesome!!!
Terrific music, but much as I love to watch RT's fingers working miracles I think it's a pity that we couldn't see a little bit more of the other musicians, especially when they are soloing. As Joel Zifkin is a new kid on the block I would like to have seen him in close-up.
I haven't been able to stop playing Dream Attic since I bought it last weekend. RT at his best yet again. This is one of my favourite tracks so thanks for putting it up. Damn, I wish I could write songs as good as RT does! ..... must get back to work now.
There goes RT, being brilliant again! And I agree with comments re violin: I'd hoped he would add a regular fiddle player ever since Sara Watkins' great playing on Sweet Warrior.

Смотришь на него и понимаешь, что тебе 20 лет надо учиться так играть на гитаре. Ну и ладно, панки напоминают - можно и по другому рок-н-ролл играть.

Great song, if he got Shania Twain to cover this it would be a big hit?

This was a awesome show! Saw RT at the Scottish Rite Auditorium 10/26/10 in Collingswood, NJ. Great place to see an intimate show!

Is it me, or is the quality level RT has maintained for 40+ years without precedence in contemporary music? Cuz I'm thinking it is.
Hope we get to see more vids from these shows; put me down for the DVD.

@ollythedolly
In interviews he's made several references to using a Divided By 13 amp. Don't know if that's what this is.
