  • Oh, and I may be the only person, but I love Peri's outfit here.

  • I've never understood complaints about this scene. The narrative intentions are pretty clear and well explained in the story. It establishes from the start that the new Doctor is unstable and wildly different from the last guy. It gives Colin a chance to chew the scenery, which he's good at. The only problem I can see is that it raises the legitimate question if Peri - already a bit of a weakling - is safe travelling with the Doctor. But they could fix that by making Peri stronger, anyway.

  • DIE FOR YOUR CRIME AGAINST FASHION!

  • WHAT A FUCKING BADASS

  • She didn't know her place.

  • Sometimes you just gotta go all "Colin Baker" on a bitch

  • I'm confused.. What is actually happening? And what episode is it?

  • @swordseye2 This is the beginning of "The Twin Dilemma", I believe. The Doctor's regeneration was unstable and caused him to have a violent episode. The idea was to have Six start out unstable (due to poisoning, I think), but mellow out as the seasons progressed. Unfortunately, the BBC fired Colin Baker before Six had a chance to stabilize much, so he never got the chance to show us the awesome on TV. Baker does a great job in the Big Finish audios, though.

  • @SarahB1863 Oh ok, good user name by the way, my name is Sarah too :)

  • @swordseye2 I think Colin was ace as Bayban in B7, in billions of ways and Colin should in my view been cast as Roj Blake in Blake's Seven instead of Gareth Thomas who had no staying power and Gareth pushed off and let down millions of fans and how silly was he.Colin if he had played Blake, would never have done that an dBlake would have been in series three and B7 might have run much longer than it did.

  • peri was the worst companion ever next to mel

  • God, I can't decide if this scene is terrifyingly out-of-character bad or insanely daring good. Whatever the answer is, you really do have to admire Colin. Talk about doing a lot with nothing!

  • @DoctorMezzo Terrifyingly out of character for sure. It's a scene that absolutely never should have happened.

  • Does the Doctor have to choke a bitch?

  • i think he just got sick of her accent....

  • Anyone else notice the "?" on his collar?

  • @jjkaraokepro An interesting catch, as the question mark does not become a Whovian staple until his successor gains a one (re)generation attachment to it. I wouldn't even have thought twice on it had you not mentioned it.

  • @akashashen They started sticking the question marks on the Doctors lapels towards the end of Tom Bakers run. It is actually the exact poin which signifies the decline of the series and the change in creative direction. Soon after K-9 gets thrown in a lake, torn apart, made powerless, and Romana is suddenly written as an airhead.

  • uhmm i never watched the older series, so sorry for my ignorance but WTF?!

  • @OCoptimusconvoy After his regeneration he was insane

  • Lord Kefka's role-model.

  • What episode was this?

  • @jediewok16 the twin dilema

  • @1andrewman1 Thanks! ^^ Just saw it. Well, the beginning anyway ....lost intrest in the middle of it for some reason. Strange, I usually don't ever do that during a Dr. Who ep.

  • @jediewok16 thats cos everything turnered to shit peter davison left

  • @1andrewman1 I heard Some bad writers got in or something in that eraand there were some conflicts b/c of it. Still, in my own opinion, I think Colin did a good job. All the parts with him acting were pretty entertaining...it's the other parts that kinda bored me. XD

  • The Doctor should have done this to Rose Tyler.

  • Best part ever. She killed my Doctor. Good for you 6th Doc! 5th Doc was sexy and handsome in the cricketing outfit...and had to end up in the bright outfit....all because of Peri's foolishness. Do like the part in Twin Dilemma when Doc 6 says trademark Doc 5's saying, Brave heart Tegan. Tegan obviously left a nice impact on the Doctor. :)

  • I want to know who's idea this scene was so I can recreate it with them.

  • If I was him, I would of grabbed her boobs.

  • the doctor who killed doctor who for me. Never watched the show again till 2005

  • @k1ng401 Yeah, to EDGY for you. TO REAL I bet. It jolted my interest. If Doctor who isn't scary and creepy and dark it isn't doing it's job.

  • @finmagik no not really. More that he was a fat, obnoxious, prick. Mind you I think the last two doctors are too boyish and full of themselves. But that is more tolerable than Colin Baker. Tom was the best, followed by Jon and Peter. I never saw Patrick and in the DVDs I'm seen of William Hartnell his character, though somewhat snappy and irratible, is pretty uninteresting.

  • @k1ng401 And that my friend is why you are NOT a a real whoivan. All three things you listed as demerits as draws for me when it comes to Six. If you can't LOVE the Doctor for all his facets then you are no more a fan then you are a wombat.

  • @finmagik well you got me there, I'm definitely not a Whovian! And as I said, I'm not a fan anymore either. Though I was, a card carrying member of the ADWFC and a subscriber to Zerinza, JNT and his lunchtime decision to hire this numbnut changed all that. But then I also turned 16 around the same tim so maybe I just grew up.

  • what was this episode called

  • @nicksta1127 Is part of the serial The twin dilemma the first part.

  • @DamnQuilty arr thanks

  • @nicksta1127 Your welcome

  • @DamnQuilty I think Colin Baker should have played, Blake in Blake's Seven instead of Gareth Thomas.

  • Don't let go, don't let go, don't let go, don't let g....aww!

  • Ah, post-regeneration kindness! XD

  • i don't like colin baker

  • @jayzner97 6th doctor and 10th r my favorites I think they're awesome but if you dont then fair play, different opinions XD

  • @Slash10053 it's all a matter of opinion, man. 10, 11, and 1 will always be my favorites, but that may just be me.

  • @jayzner97 I think Colin Baker should have played Blake,in Blake's Seven he would have been billions of times better playing Blake in B7 than playing doctor who.

  • @rojblake82 i've never seen blake's 7, so i wouldn't really know

  • I would have loved to choke her too.

  • @SigfridsTardis I would like to fuck her sweet ass

  • 0:32 IT'S A PLATYPUS!

  • I liked The Sixth Doctor. It's these much darker scenes that they didn't have in episodes for the Fourth, or the Third (both of whom are brilliant as well). It really showed that The Doctor wasn't just a happy bumbling man travelling across the universe.

  • @instalation9 I think Colin was ace in Blake's Seven as Bayban in the episode City at the Edge of the World .Colin should have been in my view cast, as Blake in B7 instead of Gareth Thomas who childishly left the series after two seasons silly man Colin Baker would never have left B7 if he had played Blake.

  • haha, she's american but she said "idear"

  • WOAH! Jeeeez.

  • The Doctor likes it rough.

  • Ah, the episode that nearly ended Doctor Who for my family... great choice.

My eldest brother saw this, and didn't watch another episode of Doctor Who for about a decade... which in turn meant I missed great chunks of the show...

  • Ooooh kay then..

  • the doctor is mad

  • Apparently he wasn't alright upstairs... Delusional... Creeper!

  • Wow he looks very crazy I should think?

  • Was Colin just trying to destroy the series? He did an amazing job if he was

  • @TheAndyinSeattle No, Colin's a great actor that got dealt a really crappy hand. He didn't get a say in the costume design, and it was the writer's decision to turn Six into a total prick. Listen to the audio adventures that Baker did. They are much better. The plan was to have Six become a more likable character over time, but because of the bad writing that annoyed fans and the lack of support from the BBC Controller, it never came to pass.

  • ....oh how I wished he travelled to strangle the child Amy....now that would have been the best....Colin Baker is really the best Dr ever....BBC messed that era up of course....they all of a sudden felt the need to put money into daytime programming.....BBC is destroying the Dr the same way with Matt with this terrible story now, making the Dr now Amy's companion....Peri was one of the best companions and certainly the hottest ever!....

  • Ok, maybe I was a little harsh calling Colin a prick. I do have a disliking to him, especially this scene. I haven't heard the Big Finish audios, but I will once I get a chance.

  • Ok, you got to give points to 6 even with that outfit he looked kinda threatening there.

By the way he is my fav Doctor

  • @DamnQuilty Why Is Colin Baker your fav Doctor?

  • @salag13 Im sorry for being lazy here, but Im going to paste the reasons from another comment I made myself about that matter

  • After Peter's super-nice-Doctor handing out chocolate buttons to children and nursing sick puppies back to health, we needed Colin's-Psychotic-bastard-doctor to come and snatch a few handbags and break a few noses. I actually find Colin more memorable than Peter for this reason :-)

  • @v11cu96 I think its a good gambit to pick a doctor who isn't much like the last guy. Smith wasn't much like Tennant, Tennant wasn't much like Eccelston, Mccoy wasn't much like Baker Hartnell wasn't much like, wel no one really. whats cool is that they all retain certain traits and certain traits from their last incarnation too eg Colin is....er...blonde??

  • This was the point where I started disliking this Doctor.

  • @PercyandDuckfan94 Agreed. Everyone's saying Rory Williams is the coward. If anyone's a coward, it's this prick of a doctor.

  • @TheTFGProductions96 You stole the words right out of my mouth!!

  • @TheTFGProductions96 How so? Explain ur point.

  • @TheTFGProductions96 You clearly haven't listened to the Big Finish Doctor Who audios, have you? Otherwise you'd know that Sixth ends up mellowing out and becoming a better Doctor than most (even better than the Tenth).

Allah forbid that you do a little research before you start typing.

  • Someone send Colin Baker to the future and have him kill Rory ASAP!

  • @sandmanzcommin08 HEEEEEEEY. NO. Rory is River's father, and River = AWESOME. Oops, Spoilers ;)

  • @sandmanzcommin08 Noooooo! Not the awesome that is Rory! *glares at you, then starts tearing up on Rory's behalf*

    :P

  • @KarmStarkiller Dude, Rory is a cowardly, pussy-whipped tool.

  • @sandmanzcommin08 Cowardly? The guy who stands up to Cybermen and flattens the Doctor with one punch doesn't really strike me as cowardly.

  • @BlackMonk66 Yeah yeah, put some Roman armor on him and he'd Jesus. I get it.

  • @BlackMonk66

    Plus, he punched Hitler.

  • This is just a thought, maybe the sixth doctor subconsciously hates Peri because he sacrificed his fifth incarnation to save her life. Probably not the case though.

  • @samgamgee07 Naw, he just wants to have sex with her. Five did but was repressed and liked boys a bit better. This the closet we get somethign sexual in Classic who, sad huh?

  • @samgamgee07 I'll bet she'll think twice about criticizing his clothes.

  • HOLY SHIT!

  • So, what' up with the Doctor? He acts like he's been snorting Meth off the back of a CD?

  • @georgekostaras He's at this point suffering from regeneration trauma. Even after this point, he remains a bit dickish throughout his whole TV-run. Only in the Audios he's allowed to mellow out a bit. He's quite likeable after that.

  • Even crazy and wearing that ridicolous coat he is still my favorite version of the Doctor.

  • @DamnQuilty Thanks to Big Finish, he has earned a place in my heart, too.

  • @KingLofiOne I havent listen to that. I will check out.

  • @DamnQuilty I would recommend the following plays: "The Holy Terror", "Project Twilight", "Project Lazarus", "Project Destiny" (which is technically a 7th Doc Story, but ends the "Project"-Saga), "The One Doctor" (Pure Comedy!) and "Davros".

  • @KingLofiOne Oh, and "Jubilee". Definately listen to that.

  • @KingLofiOne Thanks a lot for taking the time to type down all that. I will check them.

  • @KingLofiOne I'd also recommend The Juggernauts, Bloodtide, Medicinal Purposes and The Nowhere Place

  • @sadako24 Did I forget to mention Medicinal Purposes? The other 3 are still on my "waiting list"

  • I wish that he had done this to Bonnie Langford.

  • @GusF LOL! :D

  • @GusF ME TOO!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Was this doctor psychotic?

  • @katten838 He was still recovering from his recent Regeneration at this point, even after was still a bit scary (in my opinion)

  • @Eccentrickkid - thanks for responding. Even Doc5, before regenerating, mentioned the process of regeneration felt different. The post-regeneration trauma induced the strangulation event. Out of context, the scene can be badly misinterpreted. Especially with that incidental music... it was a daring move on the part of the production team...

  • @katten838 he was kinda mad. I liked that about him. He hurt people, killed people... was an ASSHOLE. I think the Tenth Doctor is the only one matches him in Assholishness.

  • @finmagik wait....... the TENTH!? did i miss something? everytime i saw the tenth he was being kind and adorable and as nice as possible (??)

  • @KiriAndBrother Yeah but did you miss what he does to the aliens who piss him off: The family of blood, The Racnoss etc, etc? Also the way e treated Martha that was pretty bad he spent the entire season comparing her to Rose, and Donna's mindwipe? At least the Sixth Doctor would have Straight up killed the family of blood instead of giving them all those horrible punishments.

  • @finmagik he tried to punish them as he saw fit not kill everything. and the 9th acted way worse. they all did. the 10th was probly one of the few who always tried to give second chances be nice and always felt guilty. and the 9th, he would always call ppl dumb apes and be all rude and resort to killing same with most other doctors. in all honesty the 10th was the kindest most considerate doctor (plus absolutely my favorite and utterly adorable cough cough*)

  • @katten838 The unmentionable midlife crisis Doctor. Wearing some harlequin coat and suffering from bad writing, This was the lowest moment for the Doctor.

  • @katten838 somewhat though cool

  • @anteaters4ever Yeah, he as grown to be my third favourite doctor actually after watching some episodes.:)

  • @katten838 Well, he's a mad man in a box.

  • @katten838 In this episode, yes. In the other episodes, he's not QUITE as crazy, but he's still basically an intergalactic troll. -_-
