  • I GO TO RBMS!!

  • "Anything those people are against, I should be for."

You have just proven you are not very intelligent.

I enjoy how you can say the plan doesn't pay for itself, then talk about death panel myth. Try this: No $ = rationing = Obama's "medical health advisory boards" or Britain's NICE.

Reason? What's unreasonable about looking through history where the same programs have been tried before, started "small", became huge and failed. There's no debate because sane people know how this ends.

  • Yea Americans are so ignorant, it's embarrassing.

  • Angry mob, ever heard of the First Amendment?

  • Centrist? Hmmm.

  • If you are blind or otherwise disabled you already qualify for government run healthcare, it is called Medicaid, I would have to agree then with the person who yelled "it's your fault" these people already qualify for the programs that are in place but don't have the wherewithall to go out and get it. What more do want the government to do, send someone to your house to sign you so you dont actually have to do the work yourself?

  • I am am blind and they have turned me down 3 times numbskull,You are wrong wake up Dude it doesnt work that easy,They turn away parapaligics now to,They are so swamped thats there way of delaying benifets

  • So the government run healthcare already doesnt work and now you want more. and I am the numbskull... by the way.. how are you reading this?

  • If Obama cares about the blind and paraplegic why is he so focused on more red-taped government beaurocracy instead of lifting the limitations on stem cell treatment? Even here in Germany stem cell treatments are legal but our "public option" doesn't cover treatment. People with private insurance are able to get the treatments covered. Your fervor is focused on an admirable goal but the wrong means to getting there.

  • What a liar, this "reporter" was a liberal Democrat Obama-supporter from the start. This kind of phony "reporting" is why the Ledger is dying, too. And these liberal, dishonest "reporters" never defame liberal protesters, only conservative ones.

  • If this is indicative to how the majority of Americans behave, then I say we deserve wholeheartedly the state of affairs we are in. Bring on the economic collapse. Let the dipshits at the fringe of the left and right nonsensically bicker over issues while the real tyrants get away with fraud and corruption of epic proportions. Divide and conquer.

  • The right has been so effectively brainwashed against providing care for our fellow humans that I wonder if there is any hope for reform and more so the future of this country. When did defending billionaire CEOs of insurance and pharmaceutical companies while shouting down victims of insurance company denial (death) panels the right's cause célèbre? Plant a lie and give the right wingnuts a slogan and they run with it - no matter how harmful it is for themselves & their neighbors.

  • tjwdraws:

I can't speak for anyone but myself. For me, it's not about "defending billionaire CEOs" My concern is that the President's UHC plan is not constitutional in any way, and it's not the government's job to provide healthcare. I agree the system is broken, but it was broken by TOO MUCH government. The best medicin is often to stop drinking poison.

  • (con't)

Do you care to help your fellow man? Then do that. no conservativce will stop you. But you have no right to use the gov't power of force to make me care for them. I will do that by my own power.

And by the way, conservative households gove 30% more to charities than liberal households; you claim that "the right" is "brainwashed against providing care for our fellow humans" is absolutely false.

  • Wow. This country is stupid.

  • Stop by next time for an in-depth interview with like minded "centrist" Van Jones, right here on Ledger Live!!

  • The UK death panels? The Queens like 110 years old and they haven't she hasn't been shipped off to the dog food factory.

That's just weird since the Brits have a longer life expectancy than we do. Their death panel requirements must be older than 80 or something.

  • he was against it my ass he is an obamablowingfaggot

  • Centrist my left Nard. . .

When I hear & see, all over Utube, every Dem in their very own words saying that single-payer(Govt HC) is the ultimate goal & that private ins. corps will go the way of the DoDo bird, please dont piss on my my leg & tell me its raining.

PPL have read 3200 & on every level its massively intrusive.

Check AlamoCityPundit 4 an extensive index.

The Govt Opt is something of a redherring, but still central.

Medicare, Medicaid & SS R broke 2 the tune of $100+ Trillion.

  • Red Bank is a town away from me. Although I oppose the proposed HC bill, I am absolutely embarrassed to call these stupid, ignorant people my neighbors. Its ppl like this that give gov't all the power they need to big gov't and global domination. These ppl should look in the mirror and see how stupid they look.....

  • Gawrsh.

Just how does one elevate ones self as high and judgeMENTAL as yourself?

Watch yourself for high altitude nosebleeds.

  • This report was about as Centrist as Arlen Specter!

Nice set-up! Lets pretend we're a centrist and then focus on the "Un-American" town-hallers!!

    I'm sure MS"the 2nd coming"NBC will have you on soon ;-)

  • Centrist eh?

Where's the video evidence of left-wing extremists? Oh yeah the guy in yellow with folded arms! (real balanced!!)

Rationed care will be inevitable and lead to "Death Panels" like the U.K where there's a $ value to life vs. treatment! (i.e. the decision will not be just you and your Doc!)

How would the disabled woman benefit from true insurance competition? What if we didn't scrap "everything" (just for the sake of a few) but allowed her and others at risk to buy into Medicaid?

  • People with high prescription costs that they cannot afford can contact the drug companies. Every one of them has a sliding-scale cost plan that will reduce the price of the drug to what the patient can afford - and it's not part of the insurance system.

This video was completely biased and inflammatory (like the comment about "tear down these signs" - no one is advocating that at all). The journalist is exactly what he is criticizing.

  • This was brilliant. Thank you for posting this. Our country has become a coast-to-coast Jerry Springer show, and it is very sad.

  • So, you were opposed to HR3200 until you saw some people who also opposed it behaving rudely at a meeting?

There are only two possibilities here; You are either a Liar or an Idiot.

I suppose there is a third possibility; you could be both.

Either way it explains your political views.

Study "Triumph of the Will" and try again. Your propaganda sucks.

  • The guy that did this video is a bed wetting tree hugging moron, period. Notice how he CLAIMED to be a centrist. However, he was alllll about sucking Obama's bit pecker.

  • Even still... It's nice to see God fearing Conservatives show their true colors.

    Hypocrtites all.

  • jersey right-wing trash.

  • I believe it would be funny if not so sad. This is the party that doesn't realize that telling troops there are Americans who don't support them is demoralizing. This is the party that thinks it's perfectly ok to scare the bleep out of seniors about such a serious issue as end of life.I cared for my dying mother-this is a real scary thing for them.Tell them they will be told they are worthless, they believe it, because they fear that already. That is so sick&twisted&hurtful.

  • @pokerdogs222:

Funny when it's about their own pathetic, menial lives. Sad when they force their views on the rest of us.

  • "I'm thinking, anything those people are against, I should be for."

  • This shows how disgusting republicans really are.

  • These right wingers are such idiots, funny how they're defending health insurance companies that would let them die in the street.

GOP = LESS HEALTH CARE, MORE DISEASE!

  • Where were all these right wing whackos when Bush gave the Iraqis universal care in March 2004?

They didn't mind their tax dollars paying for that.

  • We have been debating health care for decades; nothing is being "rammed thru" without a lot of debate. See the video if you think everyone is not getting a chance to debate. Problem is: people don't want to debate anyumore.

  • awsome vid

  • What an idiot! The health care reform bill HR 3200 is more about government control, than it is about health care. Or else why would they try to ram it through legislation so quickly? Reason? Because of the fine print they don't want us to see. Giving up 1/6 of this nations GDP to the government is a disaster, in the long history of governmental disasters. Tort reform and buying across state lines would solve 80% of the problem we now face in our ever increasing cost of health care. .

  • Ram it through quickly? You've almost 4 months, how long does it take to read it?

Tort reform is BIG GOVERNMENT SOCIALISM interfering with the legal process. How does health insurance solve anything?

What disease has health insurance cured?

  • Methinks the purpose of these exercises is not to HOST meaningful dialogue, but to ensure PREVENT such debate.

We're seeing very anti-social behavior. Behind it, is an anarchic view of society.

That might explain why people [mis]behave as they do.

  • Hey Brian, better an angry mob than an angry surgeon. Thats exactly what youll get should HR3200 pass.

  • By & large, untrue.Doctors want reform-they HATE insurance companies, because they interfere with treatment, deny coverage, second guess doctors, require doctors go thru ridiculous hoops to prove procedures are medically necessary, delay needed treatment.Real doctors want to help their patients&know insurers r obstacles to care. Also, look at all the millionaire doctors in the UK.

  • Spot on. The doctors want reform as much as anyone. Whether the Obama plan contains the reform they want is another question entirely, but as this video points out, there is little room for substantive debate regarding the specifics of the plan.

  • LOL, Mr. Obama,

tear down the Handicap sign, in the parking Lot wall!

  • I daresay most of us who are opposed to socialized health-care reform are as well if not better informed than those on the other side. That certainly came across to me in the three hours I spent on line waiting to get in, talking to people on *both* sides of the debate. And Pallone himself displayed a shocking ignorance about basic economics, including a jaw-dropping appeal to long-discredited Keynesian fallacies like "you need increased government spending to get out of a recession." (!)

  • Bipartisan ideas, packman? Please. In the third session, I asked Pallone why the sound free-market reforms that many of us have been advocating for years (which John Mackey outlined in his recent WSJ article) aren't on the table. His response, essentially, was that the free market can't be relied on because it doesn't work. Clearly, he's not interested in open-minded and substantive (much less bipartisan) debate; he's pushing this as part of a larger, anti-capitalist ideological agenda.

  • The free market collapsed in 2008. Remember that?

The free market was a market of lies. A big bubble. What do you want? Another bubble??? It's been bubbles since the mid 1970's.

  • dbarneywilder: I hate to burst the bubble of your obvious political and economic ignorance on this, but the 2008 financial crisis was not caused by the free market. It was caused through and through by government policy and mis-regulation of the financial industry over the last decade. The culprits were the FED (negative interest rates after inflation!), Fannie and Freddie, CRA, as well as others. Try Tom Woods' book _Meltdown_ if you want to educate yourself about what actually happened.

  • Oh, and predatory lending that created the housing bubble had nothing to do with it? Profit takers created credit swaps to avoid the regulations that wouldn't have been allowed to be created if they had used the term insurance.Benevolent businesses in a free market capitalist society just lookiing out for the good of all, right?Bernie Madoff is a charity advocate, because no one in a free market could possibly consider profits over people.Yeah,I trust my healthcare to Capitalism.Don't get sick.

  • I know more "right wingers" have read the bill than anyone on the left by a 10/1 margin IMO. This was being jammed down our throats, so there wasn't much time to listen anyway. There's an agenda here that goes much deeper than health care, that's evident by the lack of tort reform and the exemptions for union workers that may or may not STILL be in the final bill, but they were voted on in congress as amendments.

  • Once they pass Health care reform which is a "foot in the door" policy for an eventual single payer system, & they pass Amnesty for 20 million illegal aliens and they jam through card check for the unions... they will finished building a massive pyramid of obedience and will monopolize voting blocs securing their future in what might as well be a one party system. They will have an obedient class of non-contributors who will continue voting them in. A tyranny of the non-contributor will result

  • the public option is a bad thing. No bill can have legitimacy without tort reform.

  • Very valid points. The right wingers need to calm down and listen, and look into the bill instead of believing these myths and lies. However, the Obama also has to slow down this bill. It may be urgent, but I think if it's slowed down people will get to hear for themselves what's really in the bill, decide if they still like it or not, and add some bipartisan ideas.

  • Absolutely packman, I've heard a lot of good points on both sides of the spectrum, and I'm not sure that I support the current bill.

But I do know that we need health care reform in the worst way, and all of this screaming and bickering will only hold us back.

It's always the same thing, we try to get HC reform, and someone starts spreading malicious misinformation. In the 30's the rumor was that HC Reform was germany trying to take us over, and it was believed, just like the stuff now

  • Joshua, the people saying that aren't just concerned about HC reform, but the administration's obvious agenda to significantly expand government spending and power. But if you're serious about HC reform, John Mackey hit the nail on the head in his WSJ article about what is actually needed: *free market* reform, not an expansion of government programs and control that we can't afford and that will finish the job of destroying our already government-compromised health care system.
