  • When I saw that carrot stick I thought: Omg xd

When I saw that your horse really did a piaffe I thought: Omg O,O It really works?!

  • I loved this video! Its amazing what a carrot could do hahaha, all those people who did tried this at home are even more funny!

  • My horse is obsessed over carrots, she eats them whole O.O I tried this with her and she just walked towards it trying to eat it, How do I get her to piaffe instead of walking forward?

  • peakrockfarm, you seriously be a trollin'. (y) (y)

  • lol. seriously?

  • Comment removed

  • i think a horse would be afraid of the carrot xD

  • Really? A carrot stick? You think that you can train with that? Well obviously you can, but what are oyu going to do when you get in the dressage arena? Do they let oyu keep a carrot stick there? And do oyu really want to carry the dumb thing everywhere you go just in case you want to do a piaffe? You know there are better means of training this movement right, and still doing with natural horsemanship if your prefer.

  • @Popsickle24680 Not sure if you realize there is a HUGE thick layer of sarcasm on this video. The horse already knows how to Piaffe. 'Do Not Attempt This At Home' at the end of the video in the credits could have been a big hint too, along with the comments by the uploader.

Unless of course you YOURSELF are using sarcasm. If so, you just BARELY missed the mark.

  • aweeeeeeesome ;DD i try it with my horse today ;DD

  • wow.... well no one said humans weren't born with humor and sarcasm.

  • hahahahahah i just laughed so hard! great video ;D

  • This is great! So, if I hold the carrot stick to the side will I get a half pass?

  • @tvanaudenhove Exactly ! You`ve got the right idea.

  • hahaha hilarious!

  • it's zo amaZing O_o

  • You had me going there for a minute!! I was thinking: Is that real?? :p hahaha

  • it would be great if my horse can do that if i show her a carrot x3

  • Those peoples who think that this really work :')

  • i love that! thats awesome!

  • Marsy, are you horse experienced at all? Can you use a double bridle? She's riding on good contact with the snaffle, and the curb is so loose, the rein is flapping. Producing saliva is a good thing. It may even be she has a copper portion in the bit to encourage salivation.

  • Thank god this is a joke, its crazy what you see some people doing tese days and for a while i actually thought this was serious! I was about to write a really angry comment. lol. Nice video.

  • LOL THE BEST PISS TAKE OF PARELLI I HAVE EVER SEEN HAHAHAH

  • This is great! Very funny joke and beautiful, classically correct piaffe.

  • do you have to use carrots what about bread or apple slices?

  • automatic

    ??

  • i tried this but it did not work ..please can you tell me did you use organic carrots.. the ones i used were cheap Tesco ones..all he done was lay down throw me off and eat the carrot so as you can see i am not amused please help...

  • @MrTrees4u Tesco carrots are no good.....discount carrots. Try only all natural grown in elephant manure. Then your piaffe will be a 10!

  • @MrTrees4u

Whahah xD It was a joke :')

  • are you kiddin me ? this can't really work ..

  • @TheWritingOnTheWall Have a little trust................

  • hes like "Mom! theres a carrot right there! Mom! Mom! I can't reach it!"

    Haha, beautiful horse! :)

  • is this Talento ??! :)

  • @Bravario YES

  • @peakrockfarm Ah ha!!! And i have been using cucumbers and a green stick all this time....

  • LOVE IT!!!! going out and buying myself a carrot stick. GP dressage, here we come lol.

  • Absolutely flawless! Beautiful horse! Is he/she a Hanoverian? I only ask because he/she looks the same build as one of my Hanoverian hunters. Would you be able to post a video on terre a terre? Currently battling with it :S My trainer hasn't been able to help me out for a while as she's in Germany but if you could help that would be great! Thanks.

  • @MilanoEva112 He is a Lusitano stallion but looks a lot like a warmblood. What`s terre a terre? Thank you for kind words !

  • Very obviously most of the people commenting here have no idea WHY Parelli calls it a carrotstick, and how it is used in PNH.

  • Glad to see someone having fun with dressage. It is taken far too seriously too often. Nice piaffe that horse has.

  • so a schaß^^ ds oame pfead -.-

  • so a schaß^^

  • Haha! xD At the same time its so nice to see a horse doing a piaffe AND being collected at the same time. Not just bending its neck and dancing at the spot =)

  • @esile567 Thank you !

  • I'm glad everyone else can see the carrot stick...I thought I had lost my shit.

  • You want the carrot?? YUSSSSS....no carrot for you..... Please?.....no.....NOMNOMNOM CARROT! :D

  • haha literal meaning to the carrot stick!! i wonder if a horse would actually notice something like this. i agree that you could definitley sell this! 'piaffe's garaunteed'!!! lol. i really do want to learn how to teach a piaffe, an arabian at my trainer's could definitley do it and ive even gotten a couple steps out of him! haha.

  • Transitions into and out of piaffe need more clarity.

    ;-)

Nothing better than having fun with your horse!

  • Now I see what I made wrong! :O No carrot-stick!

  • This. Is. Awesome!

  • ha! awesome.

  • ah ah ah ah stunning!!!!

  • lol!! If only it was that easy :) he's a gorgeous horse!

  • @MsFrenchIndian Glad you injoyed it.

  • love it :']

  • jaja!

I wish it was this easy! :)

  • Lol!!

  • even tho its set as a joke, i dont think its really that that funny...

  • @TheRubyRose13 You are no fun !

  • @peakrockfarm

    hahaha thanks lol

i actually am, i just wasnt in a good mood when i wrote that comment...

    i take it back :)

  • BAHAHA!!

Carrot stick. I love it. xD

You know, you could market it and sell it for upwards of $60 bucks.... and convince average idiots who don't want to actually learn how to train their horses they can do this too.

  • @matrixmare YESSS!!!!

  • @matrixmare hahahaha!... the horse doesn't even get the carrot... people are so gullible

  • Its already been taught to piaffe (watch her leg queue's) The carrots just added. Its a joke

  • loool if it would be that easy!!

  • This is amazing but some wanky arse shit!

  • LOL that is GREAT! Too funny!

  • Comment removed

  • @mygreathorse Can you not see her leg cues? And horses foam when they're working the bit in their mouths, aka content. Heck, my horse foams in a bitless O_o

  • haha lol

  • lol. omg that's hilarious.

  • wow, how do you theack the horse that form the ground? i'm sorry, but i didn't get that thing with the carrot..

  • wow, how do you theack the horse that form the ground?

  • Yeah, try doing that with a Fjord horse... they love food so much, it'd turn into a cross-country training, rather than piaffe training... Hmm... I feel an idea surfacing... Why settle for dressage, when you can do: Endurance!

  • LOL

  • what type of carrot is that? how long should the string be???????? thanks! ;)

  • @victoriahorses Carrot MUST be organic ! Length of string determined by length of horses neck. Length of stick also important.

  • @peakrockfarm wonderful thanks for that!!! i have been doing it all wrong!!!! i fill the stable feeder with carrots, back horse out, then pull on reins and kick at the same time, all while counting 1,2,1,2,1.. once the horse counts with me i allow forward movment straight to carrots in stable. :) :D

  • @victoriahorses You sound creative! Keep up the good work! Bungie cords and umbrellas can be useful. Above all.............be imaginative.....kv

  • @peakrockfarm this sounds like a great idea!!!! im working on passage, umbrellas!!! good idea the horse is not easy to pick up with my legs, that would take some weight of me... ohh i like it!! :D

  • @victoriahorses Try helium baloons to lighten forehand....

  • @peakrockfarm SCREAM!!! your the best!!!! thanks again. i rode with my umbrella today he got abit frieghtend at first then ~it was magic! we went from passage to a very fancy/dance piaffie ..ballons tomorrow. im going for 6 strides now - progress is on!!!! i taught one of my horses to sit from standing to help develope the mucles in her behind. ill up load to you! :D

  • @victoriahorses Great sitting pic. You have really engaged the hind quarters !

  • @victoriahorses Hey, better to multiply length of neck by square root of length neck, this gives you the length of the stick, then length of this same stick multiplied by square root of lenght of stick gives you length of string. Devide length of stick by 2 and multiply by 2 again and this will give you distance of carrot to muzzle. By the way an English carrot will always work better than any other, get them from your local Brit grocery. Try it all and get back to me on your progress!

  • lol.

  • Love it!

  • =D haha, carrot stick =D made me smile!

  • What's with the carrot hanging on a stick in his face? You're not trying to get him to go forwards, so why the carrot???? LOL

  • Is this a joke?

  • @jennlovesyoo Don`t get too serious or you`ll never have any fun!

  • This is brilliant! A whole new use for carrot sticks :) I am sure if I tried this I would get more lift in my mare's piaffe!

  • Brilliant! Brings a whole new meaning to carrot stick!

  • lol great vid :D love how you credit the carrot at the end ;)

  • i dont understand because my horse just prances along on the spot , ?

could you please break it down , is there any ground work that i could do ?

  • @paigemoodence Prance....dance......good...you want that.

  • @paigemoodence this video doesn't actually teach you how to train piaffe and if you have no idea how your probably not ready to start working on it anyways ahaha

  • @piaffermisterJ um ho would you know

  • @paigemoodence lmao because i ride dressage and this horse is working in a double bridle and clearly trained to piaffe you can see her give the aids, Any horse with that much engagement and cadence is not doing a trick piaffe he just learned from a carrot , and just like the video description says, classical dressage training, which does not mean the horse just piaffed by fluke, he's had years of training. it's a joke and it is funny and cute, but its pretty sad some people think this is legit..

  • @piaffermisterJ I'm with you - I watched this and thought it was a joke. I LMAO when I watched it, that's for sure..

  • @tracerace66 LOL...I watched it for 30 seconds at first - now I'm laughing because it really is a joke! *blush*

  • @piaffermisterJ I'm with you. I would suggest people keep looking till they find something satisfactory for them. I found trotting lightly and gently pulling to slow down till it feels like a piaffe to be best for me. At the begining he stops but you keep on and he gets the gist of it. I don't like dressage, I just like the animal and the countryside but some exercises are great for many reasons. Then as a cue you can use different sounds for what you want him to do, or whatever you want.

  • Guys, it's a JOKE. And it's really, really funny. It's a parody of Parelli carrot stick training. As if using a carrot can substitute for years of discipline and great riding!

  • @TreasureOne it's not really funny ! look a this horse's mouth ! it's may be suffering !

  • @MarsyChannel @TreasurOne is right salivation shows that the horse is accepting the bit properly, if the horse was in pain then it would be trying to avoid the bit by opening its mouth or overbending.

  • Hey, your a really, really good rider. I really want to do dressage when I am older, and when my horse is more trained up. Right now he is getting the basics re-done. But I hope to join pc, then enter in some really low dressage shows. Your horse is really beautiful! :)

  • @MyHorseIsMyLyf Thank you!! Don`t wait too long to start Dressage. It takes a life time to learn. Good luck!

  • Its a good idea but I dont agree with it because it's teasing the horse. If you give it the carrot in the end though I do agree with that method.

  • is that all u do? tie a carrot on a tick and hold it out infront of theM?

  • Do you have to start between the pillars and advance to this stage? Do you have a book or dvd's on how to train this dressage move? Thank you

  • How does this work? Just stick a carrot in front of him? That's the funniest thing I've ever seen! XD

  • Great, I love it!

  • Brilliant! Glad to see I'm not the only one to teach piaffe this way *LOL* :-)

Have you tried putting the carrot on a spring or bounce it on some stretchy cord...an excellent way to teach Passage... ;-)

  • @ex2cver What a good idea! I will try a bungie !

  • Actually Epic hahaha

  • You know I think this video would be even funnier if it was done in the style of the Howcast videos. "You will need: A horse, and a carrot on a stick. Optional: Double bridle".

  • @bettylion What`s Howcast?

  • @peakrockfarm Howcast is a youtube channel that makes "how to" videos. Some are quite practical, like "how to make cookies", others are humorous, like "how to handle it if your parents buy you dorky clothes". They all have the same format, starting with a list of things you'll need. I recently watched one, how to walk in heels. "You will need: High Heeled Shoes, Balance. Optional: ibuprofen"

  • @bettylion Thanks. I will look.

  • Hahahhahahahah! Great video :D

  • what is the carrot for? to lure the horse forward or to scare it so that it stop and not trot forward, so that it trot on the spot? ha.......the funniest horse training video i seen so far....

  • how do you do that????????????

  • haha! brillant! :D

  • Favorit!

  • lol Great vid. Loved the credits haha

  • hahah love it funny one :D

  • I'm Trying That!! :O

Will it work with any horse?

do you just show the carrot & ask the horse to trot?

  • @TheBestBlackMaggic Yes....trot but not,,,,,

  • @peakrockfarm not what?

  • funniest thing ive seen in a great while!

  • @LordVebrand GOOD! WE MUST LAUGH !

  • How did you teach your horse to do Piaffe using a carrot??

First time ever I saw that, it's great!!

  • So cute! Nice idea ^^

  • So Beautiful!! ~& what's IN that carrot by Harry's Organics?!

  • @nakedgallop Thank you ! Magic in the carrot..........

  • This is a joke, isn't it?

  • @FloweringIris I take my Piaffe very seriously and I never laugh !

  • Muy buen piaffé, pero lo de la zanahoria ¿no queda un poco bizarro?

  • @freemanmgd In English please??

  • Gorgeous piaffe on this horse, carrots or no! :)

  • Nice piaffe, carrots or no...

  • How does a carrot on a stick train a horse to do a piaffe? Just curious! like what do you do to ask for the command

  • ....it's a joke....

  • @MidnightGlory0 Bonk between the ears........

  • ahhh the old carrot on a stick trick great use of this old tradition ;).... fab horse gorgeous

  • Was ein Schwachsinn xD

  • so when you hold a carrot in front of them, they suddenly start to piaffe?

  • What is the background music? It's very familiar, I just don't remember the title :(

  • Andrea Bocelli con te partiro..........time to say goodbye

  • Thank you! :)

  • Its the song " time to say goodbye"

  • Thank you! :)

  • ANDREA BOCCELLI!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • GOOD JOKE AND MUSIC

  • lol, when ever I see beautiful piaffe like this, I will know that they trained the horse to piaffe by using the "carrot trick"

    very clever!

  • ich hoffe nur das du da nicht ständig mit Sporen reinhackst. Mag ich nämlich garnicht ^^

  • lool

  • Haha, my horse would just stare at it, and be like...so.

  • :-) sehr lustig! piaffe find ich sehr gut! leider sieht man die piaffe so geritten sehr selten... meiner meinung nach

  • Hahahah I love this!

  • thanks

  • haha i think my horse would just rear XD

  • that's brilliant, might try it out when my next horse needs to learn piaffe!!!

  • Hahahaha. The secret of all great dressage riders is out! Break out the carrots!

Beautiful piaffe and horse, too :D

  • I felt the need to share..........

  • lool but if he wants the carrot isnt he supposed to go foward and go towards it rather than trot at place?

  • The best way ! hahaha love it!!
