  • Es cierto lo que dices, de las combinaciones.

It's true what you say, of the combinations¡

only Practice more ........aire, que, pague ............... you are good spanish speaker.

  • As for 'demás', 'lo demás' means 'the rest' or 'everything else'. The Spanish name for the umlaut is 'diéresis'. As for esta/ésta/está, where ESTÁ (conjugated 'estar') is easy to tell apart by having the stress on TÁ but the two others sound the same, the newest Spanish spelling reform has done away with the compulsory use of the tilde in 'ésta', for the delight of natives and learners alike. If from now on you spell them esta/esta/está, you won't have made a spelling mistake. Cool, huh?

  • @getreallanguage Wow, I never knew that. Thanks for the constructive comments!

  • @themafia306 No worries. This is a great series but I felt it needed some necessary corrections. Keep it up!

  • Actually, in Spanish the combinations IE IO IA IU are also pronounced as diphthongs ([ je jo ja ju ]). TIENE is pronounced TIE-ne (two vowels): here the IE is similar to English YE in YEAH. ANUNCIO goes like a-NUN-cio. The IO is similar to English YO but with the second part of the O ('oh') sound taken out. ESTUDIAR goes like es-tu-DIAR. The IA is similar to the English word YAH or the German JA, both meaning 'yes'. Similarly VIUDA (widow) is pronounced VIU-da with IU similar to English YOU.
