That was a great show, but I had to see it twice at Disneyland, because Mr. Lincoln had a "great moment" of his own when I saw it the first time. Right after he stood up, he started speaking, and his head kept jerking to the left as he was speaking. It was shut down for a few hours, and when I found out that it re-opened, I went to see it again. It was a very good show.
@club33az Wikipedia does a pretty job documenting the different changes in this show. One version of the show (the one most people hated) had Royal Dano's voice replaced by another actor and Lincoln wore glasses!. Here Dano's voice is enhanced by computer to make his words more understandable. This version actually brings back the pre-video last seen in the 1960's (replaced by the Walt Disney Story in the 1970's). Disney finally got this version right though it took them long enough.
@club33az That's because these are different takes from the Dano sessions. I believe it's documented somewhere in the "Mr. Lincoln" wiki that Disney, who personally attended many of the sessions, made Dano read this speech in 50-60 takes until he achieved the "weariness" in his voice Disney felt was necessary to be true to Lincoln the historical figure.
@gpwerner Yeah, I read that too. It always made me wonder if Royal Dano knew that that is what Walt was shooting for. Or if he just thought Walt was a nut job perfectionist.
I remember Royal Dano from the movie "Teachers." He was Mr. Ditto, the teacher who dies in the middle of class and nobody notices that he's dead.

This beats the Hall of Presidents in Florida. Just because he looks so real and vivid.

This Royal Dano speech seems a little different than the original show. The inflection in his voice seems a bit more upbeat. Less tired.
The AA Lincoln is EXCELLENT!!
