  • Wow, that bird Mickey is riding is NOT an ostrich it is a South American relative called a rhea !

  • @gnikcohs do you think walt disney knew that?- no

  • @CornOnTheCobIIV Rheas & Gauchos, are both indigenous to Argentina. I had no idea there was a cousin of the ostrich in Argentina, never saw a photo or heard of it, until I saw this toon. Possibly someone doing background research on Argentina at Disney saw it in a National Geographic, or some such, and used it. Why not? At first I thought riding an 'ostrich' was really dumb. But it turns out it made PERFECT sense. It would be a hell of a coincidence. Too much of one. So they most likely knew.

  • @gnikcohs k point taken

  • 4:17 dang mickey's so cruel

  • 0:50 this is a great lesson for kids huh

  • @salvi41 Remember these cartoons were made for older audiences. It was such a wonder back then that adults went and watched the cartoons themselves in theatres!

  • wow mickey smokes and drinks and now is "do not listen to what the word" is a total idiot

  • micky got game i also should light blunt up with my feet

  • Responding to your PS = Yeah that may have been true about Animes BACK IN THE 1960's, but a lot has changed over the last 50 YEARS, Animes now have much better quality in there animation now a days, just look at some of the newer ones out currently.

  • oh my gosh. a drunk ostrich.

  • 0:26 cantino argentino xDDDD

  • It was asked, "why does this have sound??? the first to disney animations didnt have sound........"

The first two Mickey cartoons made in the spring of 1928 couldn't get distribution as silent films, so they didn't get seen until Disney hit on the idea of giving Mickey a sound track. Steamboat Willie, which was the third Mickey filmed, was first with sound and first to be shown in theaters. It was a hit-so he gave the first two (Plane Crazy and this one) a sound track. They became hits too.

  • @h88878 "Released in 1928. This was the second Mickey Mouse cartoon."

    (in the description)

  • why does this have sound??? the first to disney animations didnt have sound, this is the second disney animation so it shouldnt have sound........

  • @365ral

I sure wonder what Walt Disney would have said if he saw Disney Channel today.

  • @365ral What about Kingdom Hearts Mickey?

  • mexico? it s ARGENTINA ignorant assholes

  • poor minnie pete will never leave her alone

  • @rougehottie that is not pete

  • @totaldrambeatles22 It's definitely Pete, and named as such in the production materials and most of the major books on Mickey.

  • @totaldrambeatles22 i still dont believe that

  • So technically, Mickey gave his ostrich three separate boners.

  • Mickey in Argentina and dancing Tango?? I would have never believed it! And some americans think it's Mexico lol

  • wow mickey has changed since he was first created. and i don't mean just in looks O_o . i think i like this mickey better! lol =D

  • hhaha i like this cartoon its beter then the shit cartoon that kids watch it now

  • IS THAT PETE!!!

  • @mamaneww one of many petes origianl looks :0

  • @mamaneww :) i meant to put instead of :0 lol

  • @mamaneww noooooooooooooo

  • Disney characters getting drunk! awesome!

  • How is it that Minnie has no problem dancing with Mickey here, & I'm guessing he's good...? But two cartoons later she doesn't like dancing with him because he sucks?

  • Lol, this cartoon is soo deliciously politically incorrect, I wish they still made 'em this way!! I love it! :D

  • aa no dice cantino

  • it says cantina argentino there. and theyre playing tango in there.... did you guys know that cartoons were invented in argentina?? the first one ever.

  • it says cantino argentino there. and theyre playing tango in there.... did you guys know that cartoons were invented in argentina?? the first one ever.

  • Smoking, Drinking, animal abuse...

Now a days this cartoon would be banned XDD

  • 1:34 Why do they look so... angry.

  • If starch worked like that, they would never have invented viagra.

  • Comment removed

  • I like how Mickey gets Oswald ears when he kisses Minnie at the end. I guess Iwerks was still pretty pissed about that at the time...

  • This is a bizarre mixture of Cuban,Argentinian and Mexican culture. That s so bad. There was no respect.

  • Ub & Walt you guys are the geniss of REAL Cartoons.

  • 2:22 sorry, but minny mouse is in another castle.

  • Man, Cartoons used to be so awesome... with drinking beer, having sword fights and smoking, now thats all ruined from this baby crap :(

  • @AzNpowangeFTW Uhh, there's Family Guy, South Park, etc.

  • 1911 button didn't make any difference

  • i thought these old cartoons were supposed to be filled with racism and war propaganda! this one's just missin' all the fun.

  • at 1:27

"How about I slap your shit"

  • The ending was so cute! =D

  • smoking and drinking beer that would never be shown today!!!!

  • Mickey has the coolest way of lighting smokes. lol! 00:45.

    hahaha!

  • I officially want a retractable tail!

  • It seems they redesigned Mickey's eyes and face sometime between 1:54 and 2:18. Was Walt still voicing Minnie? Sounds like him.

Anyway, lovely cartoon, AND beautiful music, thanks 1 million for posting.

  • @minnie888444

I know for a fact Walt Disney voiced Mickey from 1928 - 1947, but as for how long he voiced Minnie, I can't seem to find.

While we are on this topic, did you know that Wayne Allwine, the third person to voice Mickey Mouse, was at one point married to the current person who voices Minnie?

  • @frankydman Thanks for the info. According to Wikipedia this is the voice of Minnie:

"Minnie was first voiced by Walt Disney, the original voice of Mickey Mouse. Then, from 1930 up until 1938, she was voiced by Marcellite Garner. From 1939 to 1942, and on the radio program, The Mickey Mouse Theater of the Air, she was voiced by Thelma Boardman. From 1942 up until 1952, Ruth Clifford provided the character's voice." I greatly appreciate MG, I found she was very young at the time.

  • Micky was driving a drunk not driving drunk there's a difference you know

  • @agussino22 ¿No dirás gringos xDDD?

  • Man, why don't they make cartoons with "Rubber-Hose" animation these days anymore?!

  • @skurvay nowadays it's too long and too expensive to do this kind of animation today

  • @Jocomjg64 Oh and what like Japanese Animes or CGI animation is something cheaper & less complicated than this?!

  • @skurvay I mean like in TV shows -- movies are fine. But shows like Spongebob Squarepants and stuff like that have kinda... flat...animation. But this had time, patience, and a lot of effort to meet the "Rubber Hose" standards.

PS Japanese Animes have limited animation! What are you talking about? They're basically moving pictures out of a book -- they don't even have mouths that would sync the Japanese dialect! They move it up and down because too much was spent on the character itself!

  • nice bra minnie

  • to me, this is like most other Mickey cartoons, similar to Oswald cartoons. also , i bet 911 caused this good stuff to get cancelled <=(

  • @Bogmyre How did 9/11 cause these cartoons to get canceled.

  • @MyNameZebra well according to a friend of mine, after 9/11 happened, the goverment decided to cancel EVERY-SINGLE-CARTOON-LIKE-THIS because they thought it might give kids violent thoughts

  • Wait so how come Mickey bests that guy in a swordfight over a woman and then is hired on his boat?

  • Animal drunkness he's so drunk he can't stand up lol

  • I can barely watch Disney cartoons,

it's probably because i know TOO MUCH

of the real deal right now...

  • mickey que bebe e fuma .... minnie que parece mais uma prostituta e um avestruz bebado ? ... isso que é desenho bom

  • And later that night, SOME WAS GOTTEN.

  • @jerbear3987 Wow you're right, that's kinda weird.

  • This is actually the third mickey cartoon. :D

He had one before Steamboat Willie

  • @Ro9ge Actually this is the second one after Plane Crazy... Steamboat Willie was the Third Mickey Cartoon. Steamboat willie was the 1st "Sound picture". I think it's more to do with popularity, the first two didn't go down too well. Steamboat Willie was Mickeys first big success.

  • @king1omar Oh, thanks. I guess I got the dates wrong, that's really interesting.

  • @Ro9ge Wrong:D.In May of 1928, Plane Crazy, was released to limited audiences but w/o sound, and later rereleased in 1929 with sound. In August 1928 The Gallopin' Gaucho was released, but again only to a limited audience and w/o sound and later rereleased in December of 1928.And on November 18, 1928 Steamboat Willie was released to critical acclaim, which is why the first two shorts were rereleased. So this is technically the second, but like Plane Crazy was released siliently to a limited audience.

  • @TMANiac1203 Gotcha. Thanks for the info, I had no idea that's how it all worked. I got the dates all mixed up, but now it makes sense. :)

  • Smoking horny drunk Mickey trying to get his inebriated ostrich straight while saving Minnie Mouse from the huge mexican drunk.

    Nice !

  • @SmokingMethodz The "huge Mexican drunk" is plain old Pete, and the action takes place in Argentina. What more can I say?

  • @SmokingMethodz

mexican? i think its argentina XDDDD

    good cartoon anyways !!!!!

  • @SmokingMethodz it cannot be a drunk mexican because the word "gaucho" comes from Argentina, therefore this is set there.

  • @pucca12a because of hannah montana and new teen shows

  • Wow! even the horse Drink beer!

  • I love this ;) x

  • this was 82 years ago the year Shirley Temple was born... wow time flies by.. i would die to go back and watch every old cartoon made

  • lmao the gaucho spit tobacco at him

  • Thumbs up if you think Minnie is sexy in this picture.

  • @DisneyMaster2 Probably not.

but in "YOU KNOW WHAT" yes

  • Walt Disney didn't know anything about a gaucho!. First of all, gauchos used to live in the Argentine Pampa, so the picTure should show lowlands not a desert like in the Far West. Then, gauchos never danced tango (if you can call that a tango), lowclass people of Buenos Aires City did. And what about The sword's fight? It makes makes me remind of the Zorro Movie. Another huge mistake, is that gauchos drunk mate, not beer. Germans drink beer!

  • epically drunk ostrich is epic

  • LOL Drunk Ostrich Thumbs up if Funny

  • Mickey smoking and drinking - awesome! and a drunk ostrich, I lol'd at that

  • I guess Mickey didn't have any shame. I mean, between 5:16 and 5:20, he didn't care enough to cover up his nakedness. Plus, I think Minnie loved seeing him naked. Too bad she couldn't go completely naked herself. That would be too much.

  • Mickey became so popular that Disney couldn't let him smoke any more. (Too bad an influence on little kids.) Even HE hated how limited and saccharine Mickey later became.

  • OMG!! Mickey Mouse is Naked at 5:16

  • @WakkoLuver39 because he chopped the trosaurs

  • i LUV thsi cartoon!

  • Minnie: You wanna dance?

Mickey: Hang on, I gotta have a beer first. (Epic beer moment) OK, I'm ready.

  • 2:39 EPICALLY DRUNK OSTRICH.

  • OMG! PETE GREW TO 10 FEET TALL!

  • i hope these classics stay on youtube, i really like them they r fun to watch

  • Wow Mickey Smokes and Drinks wow man he's not what he use to be

  • Mickey smoking and drinking beer??!!!! WTF and Minnie acting like a slut!!!!?? Double WTF

  • what rebels (: drunk ostrich ftw.

  • does minnie actually think shes sexy?O.o .....no offence minnie xD

  • @kyuubisharinan3296 Maybe to a mouse...

  • It says "Cantina Argentina" (bad written) and Minnie is dancing Spanish music, and Mickey rides an ostrich ?? lol it's funny anyways

  • Mickey and Minnie were so..Badass.

  • lol i have the shirt of him on the ostrich

  • Drunk Ostrich. :D

Cartoons nowadays are too goody to show drinking. >_>

  • lol poor ostrich, and interesting Daisy. And some blackface, yay! >_> Meh it was 1928, don't judge.

  • lmao with the ostrich and the starch.

  • trunk ostrich!! lol

  • No, the third, after PLANE CRAZY & STEAMBOAT WILLIE! I wonder why so many people disregard PLANE CRAZY?

  • Correction: technically, "The Gallopin' Gaucho" is the second Mickey Mouse cartoon, because it was actually the second cartoon to be PRODUCED and the third to be released.

  • @OldMusicOnVinyl1 So you mean one of the other two was never PRODUCED, but fell down on earth unecpectedly, perhaps from outer space?

  • @ENACODNOM What I mean is that "Plane Crazy" was produced first, "The Gallopin' Gaucho" was second, and "Steamboat Willie" was third. "Gaucho" was the second to be produced, but the third to be released, after "Steamboat Willie". "Plane Crazy" was released before Steamboat Willie. If you don't understand me, I'll show you what I mean:

    PRODUCTION:

    1. Plane

    2. Gaucho

    3. Willie

    RELEASE ORDER:

    1. Plane

    2. Willie

    3. Gaucho

  • @OldMusicOnVinyl1 Read my message of just a couple of minutes ago, forgetting about the sound that was added to the first two that were originally silent!

  • @ENACODNOM OldMusic was right. The first two cartoons that were produced and originally silent were Plane Crazy and Gallopin' Gaucho. The first cartoon that was produced with sound was Steamboat Willie and it was third produced alltogether. Steamboat Willie was the first cartoon to be released which is why many people think it was the very first Mickey Mouse Cartoon. Sound was later added to Plane Crazy and Gallopin Gaucho and they were both released after Steamboat Willie.

  • @mastermalone Yeah, you're probably right. Anyway, it was all a matter of a few months, and/or perhaps even days! Anyway, personally, I bookmark them in release date order, it's safer and easier on the mind. Cartoons take a long time to complete and it would be too much trouble to try to find out when they were exactlu completed. With music it's different: when I have a recording date database, then I gather it in chronological recording date. Thanks for your insightful message.

  • @OldMusicOnVinyl1 Of course, I was joking a little bit, but THE GALLOPIN' GAUCHO was really the third cartoon produced by Disney, because its two predecessors were not only released before, but also produced before in their silent version. Disney later added sound to the first two because of the distributor's and theatre owners' pressure. What is added to an original work, in film or in music, should not be counted, otherwise you could say that Elvis is still recording today!

  • @ENACODNOM But it was made after Plane Crazy and before Steamboat Willie...

  • *GASP * The old mickey is soooo much cooler than he is now... Well, except in Kingdom Hearts XD The KH Mickey ROCKED O_O But this is pretty great :D

  • mickey were soo horrible in his second carton

  • These cartoons are much better than today's

    there far more creative. :)

  • @green2995 not just better cartoons... it was a better world, with better human beings in it. Except, err, some.

  • @silbaar I don't agree with you there. It's all contextual, you know?

  • lolol mickey in the old episodes is bad, but at least this one wasnt as bad as the first one.

P.S. Disney will always live on..

  • Um...was Minnie dancing in a whore house? O_o

  • @Teufeldolch

A cantina, or bar, actually. Though I'm not sure that does much to improve the image.

I actually prefer these older cartoons to the Edumickey of today.

  • i like the time where mickey uses his tail as a grapple at 4:42

  • This mickeys turns better than the 1 2day

  • this mickey if that is Argentine, likes cigarettes, beer and women, not like now that I have my suspicions that being gay jajajaa

  • the animation and music in this one is fantastic- there's just so many ideas. but why is minnie a hoe all of a sudden? ugh.

  • 2:00 Bafo-de-onça

  • 1:33 the epic tango~! XD

  • Love the whole premise that Mickey's only had one beer and yet his ostrich is completely drunk off its ass while Minnie is being kidnapped.

  • o.0 omg mickey smoked!!! XD the new mickey is just too much of a goody goody.

  • @fleetway66 hey plez i dont like that mickey smoked in this cartoon. but u know that back then peeple didnt know how much unhelthy smoking was.

  • Okay. I was just saying cause I mean all the newer cartoons of him are for preschoolers. They don't make them like this anymore. Cartoons these days just suck.

  • @fleetway66 But now when the NEW Video Game called "Epic Mickey" Made by "Disney Interactive Studios" It was aid in a wikipedia Article i have read "Mickey's Goody Goody Personality will Shift in to a More Darker Side of his Personality."

  • @fleetway66 GAY is the right word.

  • @fleetway66 That is a central problem concerning those newer cartoons. They are designed to be so 'safe' and politcally correct that they have completely lost their comedic aspect. When characters like Donald and Mickey are transformed from playful pranksters and rascals into smiling hippies holding hands under a rainbow, there is really no justifiable basis for comedy anymore.

  • @rigstula Donald was actually allowed to be agressive. It was Mickey who had to behave.

  • @fleetway66 I don't think they knew that smoking was so bad for you back then :P

  • Wasn't this Mickey Mouse short in full color

  • Yes, I do believe it was :)

  • no, it was originally made in black in white, but when it came out on TV they digitally colored it.

  • i don't think the original one was strictly speaking that it did come pout in the year 1928. But I don't know for sure.
