How weird for a dixieland band to be playing at a FUNERAL???????

In New Orleans it seems to have been a habbit. It still is for musicians to have a traditional jazzband at a funeral.

We didn't do it often, but a few times we actually did it.

Often for people who saw the start of the Bond movie : Live and Let Die

With the Olympia Brass Band from N.O. playing the funeral music.

Alas we are not allowed to work in the USA as Europeans. Kind of strange situation since US musicians are allowed to work in the Netherlands. Only possibility would be based on cultural exchange I believe.

In fact I was there twice, first time in 1996 I was working on a cruise ship as a musician and was 3 days free in N.O.

Second time was in 2004, reason Honeymoon!
