first of all, "EMO" as a musical genre started out in the late 80's, and the most generic emo band I can think of are Fugazi - who have nothing to do with greenday, popunk in general, or the current so-called "Emo" movement.

second of all, what is nowadays concidered 'emo' is mainly popunk and/or some heavy metal influence (like A7X, FoB, etc.), but most "emo" bands of today have little to non relation to emo music. emo is actually a made-up fashion subculture that h
