  • I however would give it one star because I have one and it's awful. If I was within my 28 days I'd take it back. Do not buy.

  • Tend to agree with the others. What exactly will change the way we navigate outdoors that the other haven't? 8 hours battery life? Rechargeable batt only? That won't do it I'm afraid.

  • i have had MM V5 for a while now can i just dump the maps i have onto its memory card ?? im not paying out again.................

  • TheMuss28, the Satmap is a different device. Woodlanduk you get a credit of 10,000km 2 of mapping which you can activate in sections on your pc and the GPS. You can buy additional credits or parts of the UK online. See Amazon for my review or the Memory Map forum for more information. Battery life is claimed to be 8 hours using the built-in battery depending on conditions.

  • 1 in 50,000 mapping out of the box, battery life?

  • what map do you get out of the box? 1:2500 complete UK or 1:50,000?

  • some concrete reasons WHY it will "change the way we navigate outdoors" would have been nice? ... just because it has a touch screen and can create routes?

  • watching this video and reading the test in January Trail 2010 you got me so confused which to go for this or the satmap active 10 plus ???? anybody out there used either of the 2?

  • Simple i have completed 15 trips with the 2800, NO PROBLEMS. if you have memorymap mapping v5, buy the 2800, if you want to buy the mapping over again go for the satmap. (check my review on amazon under johnmandy, i really have tested it out in the field on some long trips, but most importantly i have stuck to reviewing the item, and not give it a 1 star just because i wanted to promote another product
