The users here have raised very interesting points. ABDC is not a full out dance competition, it is a hyrbid between an entertainment show (whose prime objective is to get high ratings) , and sometimes in the quest for high ratings (via entering gimmicky crews) the art of Hip Hop dancing suffers. To be honest i can count on one hand the number of ABDC crews that i think would do well in competitions off the show

ABDC is a commercial vehicle pushing a commercial product. that is all, end of story. head hunters is a REAL crew. not a commercial freak show. headhunters rep in the hiphop scene and crews like jaba have no presence in hiphop culture what so ever. personally i would rather see HH battling at a jam or killing beats in a cypher. but they killed this shit anyway. all us hiphop heads have to turn a blind eye to all the people that know nothing other than what TV feeds them, aka target consumers.

They're members been around in the hip-hop dance scene for a long time before Jabbas ever formed. Their members include guys from Boogie Monstaz, Full Force, Killafornia, Super Galactic Beat Manipulators. There were well known in the West Coast hip-hop world for years before ABDC was even a concept for a show.

And all of their members still rep those crews. And bboys aren't the only dancers associated with hip-hop, son. @UrNotHipHop I have to agree with mylestate, Jabbawockeez might be a commercial crew famous because of ABDC , but they are one of the few commercial crews with real talent. Thier massive success after ABDC proved that they are more than just a gimmick, and on a personal note (as a bit of a hip hop head) i think they have helped expand the frontiers of Hip Hop dancing with thier unique style,they are right up there with the likes of Micheal Jackson, Tight Eyez, and Rock Steady Crew in my opinion.

ABDC was trying to diversify the show a lil' bit. That's all. I consider it experimentation gone wrong. I mean, you do have a crowd of people that aren't into the "Hip Hop" lifestyle, so they wanted to experiment with groups that don't necessarily fall in under "Hip Hop Dance." However, based on the winners of the past seasons, it seems as if Hip Hop dance is a PREREQUISITE to even get far into the show's seasonal progression!

They threw a little bboying into the mix here and there to spice it up a bit but everything they did was quite creative. With the hitting beats in the freezes, and when they were all hitting beats at the end. There's a lot of stuff they did that deserves recognition.
