Any player who is elected Rookie of the Year has to be a great in his own right....forget the comparisons.........they really need to remake the movie about him in a 2012+ made movie....it could b such a great movie, and would honor this forgotten legend......more Bball fans should know Maurice Stokes
He played during a different era. It would be unjust to compare him to players from the 90s. But yeah, he was an amazing player and his injury/death was a huge loss for the sport of basketball.
Thanks Alc.I saw it before on NBA cabel Alc. Great Stuff: although he did not have the same level of Post Game: Barkley had a "7footer Post Game" he definetly is ala Barkley interms of Rebounding Relentlessnes and going Coast to Coast for Passes. Very Unique Player. Barkley is a mixture of Stokes, Unseld, Baylor and a smaller version of Shaq at 6´4 3/4 if wan´t to be more exact. Although he had a more Elegant Post Game/ Fadeways and 1 on 1 Front Up Up Mid Range Skills than All of them.
More like Karl Malone's direct basketball descendant. They're almost the same size. Just one inch difference in height and 10 pounds in weight, but they both play the game almost identically. To me Charles Barkley reminds me of Wes Unseld with handles and hops
its so sad how he died!
