  • I do not need that dam video. I got the original Music. So that is shit.

  • Thank`s.Charlie.

  • he's perfect

  • One of the most intriguing voices I have had the pleasure of enjoying while my stay here on your Earth.

    - Ford Prefect

  • goosebumps every time.....

  • Makes me feel like getting barefoot and running in wet grass!

  • wow, didnt realize immediately. Thats Tony Levin from King Crimson playing bass

  • @nyos49 Afaik "Uncle Tony" plays the bass on all of Peters arrangements...

  • His backing band is hurting to the eyes. It makes Peter look like Colin Farrell.

  • Where's Paula?

    :-(

  • Why is Mel Gibson singing Peter Gabriel dressed as Han Solo?

  • @MenofActionVideo lololololol

  • Peter Gabriel, the original Lord of the Dance.

  • My favourite version of this wonderful song...

  • Thank you. This is one of my favorites.

Does this mean : "I get to come home?"

    Love.

  • What a bad quality for this that is probably the best live version of this song with Tony Levin at the top shape.

I advice to buy the CD taken in Modena: just this performance.

  • haha looks like edward norton or mel gibson, depending on which way you're looking at him. beautiful song.

  • I agree bigchickenfu this song is very empowering and inspiring.

  • wtf is mel gibson doing on stage?

  • Peter Gabriel at his best. A truly thought provoking performance of the highest standard.

  • seeing this concert could be the only possible reason why i would ever want to be ten years older than i am.

  • I saw this concert in Houston. Best concert ever!

  • This is great for so many reasons!!

  • @bluenightdk ur so right especially at 2:16 when they skip on stage together, just one of the most amazing things, and the guitarist who is dressed like the monopoly guy....i heard during the encore they brought 33 people on stage and they set up a sand box and played marbles.....i dont really know, not sure ,but just sayin

  • If any of you still think he lip-synchs (he doesnt)... I guess the audience lip-synchs too, eh?

  • Technically is this music from "before my time" but damn...i love this music. I love this whole dvd.

Thumbs up for Peter and his crew.

  • @Erikrenate it's been done 751 times, in case u didnt noitice

  • nicolas870. I couln't agree more!

  • Man they look like they have SO MUCH FUN!

  • I like this Song!!!

  • When Tony Levin wasn't recording and touring with King Crimson in the 80s, he was touring with Peter Gabriel. Not bad.

  • FUCKING GLORIOUS!

  • CanNOT get enough of this song & video! TY so very much!

  • Gotta give credit to his band. They are consistently excellent and in these Secret World Live videos, everyone looks genuinely thrilled to be playing together. Peter's music couldn't sound this amazing without these talented performers.

  • i want his dance moves

  • this song reminds me of leaving home, cos i was listening to this song on the way down to university when dad was dropping me off at lancaster hehe makes me happy

  • I always feel alot happier after seeing this video . Dont know why !

  • @bigchickenfu

It has a massive impact on me, when i hear it. Gabriel's voice is one that almost brings me to tears anyway - but, in addition to that,... this was played to death by my mum on our turntable when it came out. She'd just got back together with my dad and brought the split family back together too.........everyone was happy and it always seemed to be sunny! haha

  • @bigchickenfu There is something about his concerts and the band on stage that makes you feel welcome, and, yeah, just plain unpolluted happy.

  • @bigchickenfu so do I and 23 others...

  • I can hear all of his fear, all of his uncertainty, and all of his weakness in his voice. I think it's cool. No pretension.

  • I'm a huge fan of Gabriel, but this really seems overdubbed to death. His vocals are absolutely perfect. Not a single breath out of sorts, not a note reached for, nothing but perfectly in tune singing at 100% perfect levels. Sorry, but either it was pre-recorded vocals or overdubbed afterward. I've seen him live a dozen times and he NEVER sounded this good.

  • @FatSlappyHappyPappy You may be right, but it could have been recorded live and mastered later...which I guess for the videos sake is dubbed. You're right though, it's perfectly mixedl.

  • @Drydoc2 It's mixed good because it is from a DVD. Also there is a much better quality version of this on here.

  • gr8 tune shit dancing

  • @t1000eg

peter can shit live at stage and it will be great... i think thedancing is really funny... haha. love the performence so much and it gets better and better

  • @gutti88 peter can shit ??? all fun tho mate :-)

  • Just such a great outstanding song, I cant really put it into words. Its sets your soul free in makes you feel lucky to have exspirence great music like this back wen you were younger. It makes me geel bad for the younger generation who moslty dont know good music like this.

  • This lacks the strong beat/syncopation that really makes this song dance.

  • @joanaroja its not supposed to u egiot

  • @joanaroja Are you referring to this live version vs a studio version? If so, then there's no comparison as the levels of instrumentation are naturally going to be experienced differently. If you're referring to the piece in general, then your comment may be misplaced. This isn't a dance/rock song. It's Peter Gabriel. I like this version a lot as no one instrument is overstated. I do like the bass line though. Simple but driven.

  • 1993年(多分)東京武道館公演でのこの曲のビデオはないの?ガブリエルはドラムをたたきながらこれを歌ってたけど、それが今でも忘れられない。

  • I love the video because you can tell he's having fun!

  • Dude !! i have been searching for this song for monthes !! My 13 year old daughter clicked on it and after three guesses, found it for me ! man ! She da shit !! lol

Yay !!!!!!! Still cannot picture him singing this after "In Your Eyes" song. I over looked it ,thinking it was not the same man. (Damn, he's aged since his "Shock The Monkey" days...) Thank u for uploading it :) faved, too

  • The videos incredibly gay but the musics great

  • @themann141 The Dancing is mean't to represent people following others... A bit like the pied piper of hamlin..

  • My hero, love him, simple as boom boom boom!

  • Yes this is pop rock at its best and the animated enthusiasm of the performers is precious. They skip. In unison. Love it and them.

  • tony levin is the man!

  • Comment removed

  • skipping and spinning in unison, pirouetting, all the while singing beautifully. I aspire to such grace.

  • Three grown man skipping like little girls... good entertainement !

To me, secret world is the best live album of all times

    second: pink floyd, Pulse

    third: Kiss, Alive!

  • cool song!

  • 0:32 thought this was mel gibson singing.

  • Long live quirky weird wonderful self expression.

  • ...Just my opinion, but doesn't he look alot like Mel Gibson - If Mel Gibson could sing? Just a thought - I could be wrong...

  • @arromac Yes U R right

  • Genesis is heading for The Hall..Peter put them on the map..I love this year.My beloved Rush is not there but one of the greatest bands of all time The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway,Wardrobe to Domino..I am so happy for Peter Gabriel,Phil Collins,Mike Rutherford and Tony Banks

  • A song for the music history books...

and I still remember how much fun we had at the concert back then.

  • Wow, eleven people with absolutely no taste or ear for music disliked this video. One of my all time favourite songs. So up-beat and great at very high volume, Thanks Peter!

  • giant smile...

  • Manu Katche and Vinnie Colaiuta the best drummers ever!!!

    Manu rocked this one!!!

  • One thing that puzzles me is how quickly PG went bald. I mean, when he toured in 1993 he had a full head of hair. Nine years later he was completely bald. Perhaps he had a comb over or even a wig in '93.

  • Grande,genial-todo un genio y Mannu todo un pedazo Bateria.

  • 2,09 IM NOT CRAZY, IM A AIRPLANE!

  • Dieser Song ist so herrlich, zum rauf und runter hören :)

  • son, he said, grab your things i've come to take you home

  • Drove 1000 kilometres to see him live. this song was worth the drive alone. let alone the rest.

  • @birtee1 I would drive that far to hear just this song.

  • One of the few singers that sounds better out of the studio than in it. The same when he was with Genesis, far far better live.

  • @Zumzing So true

  • @Zumzing yes i agree with you there buddy .

  • @Zumzing Oh, definitely. I mean, I love him in the studio too, but live he just blows me away.

  • One of the famoust thing in the wolrd. I love this guy, those guys.

  • I like the way he is dressing, you can swear he's gay. I truly love the way he dance, he is hyperactive. Wish I could turn back the clock and make him young again. Anyway if you are a legend you are. Wish he could come here in South Africa.

  • My top 3 live albums of all times

    1: secret world, Peter gabriel

    2: Pulse, pink floyd

    3: Alive! , Kiss

  • I've loved this video ever since I was really little, but I never knew who sang it, except I guessed maybe Genesis. I was so happy to find it again a couple of years ago. Good memories. :)

  • Great concert just 50 km from my parent's home.

  • Love the song, Peter is a hunk! three adult men skipping? noooooooo!!!!

  • Whyyyy is every single video of this song on YouTube a video of a concert? Where's the plain song track?

  • @WarrantedFaith

    Look at IloveJest1's channel.

You will find one of many studio versions of the released single.

  • A Great, Fun and Inspirational Video!!!

  • Does anyone know what kind of instrument the tall balded guy's playing? It features more strings than any guitar or bass I've ever seen!

  • @grumpypant

    12 string guitar!

    yes they excist

    wiki/Twelve-string_guitar

  • @jdechateau Now, I do know that a double necked electric guitar features a twelve stringed neck; but, the one that dude's playing has about FIFTEEN STRINGS with a thick-ass neck; and he's playing like a bass guitar!

  • @jdechateau Very incorrect, it's not a 12 string guitar.. it's a chapman stick.

  • @grumpypant: it's called a Chapman Stick. The guy playing it here is Tony Levin. Levin plays bass and Chapman Stick with several groups, including as King Crimson, California Guitar Trio, and Liquid Tension Experiment. That's why he's playing "the bass side" of this instrument. There's a video of that interview here on YouTube. Fascinating instrument. Amazing bass player.

  • genius three times distilled

  • He is much more relaxed here then in his previous concerts. Just check out his concert footage from 1978 (Rockpalast) to see how awkward he looked. Great song, great video.

  • i like peter gabriel but the unison dancing is extremely gay

  • @tprender16 i thought it was pretty hilarious

  • 'Grab your things, I've come to take you home.'

    Thanks.

  • This is my favourite song ever.................

  • just an awesome song! just love it

  • i just love this song! Hes just amazing !

  • Peter Gabriel looks better as Mel Gibson!!!

  • main man

  • decent also nice to see Tony Levin bouncing around on bass !

  • I will be attending PGs concert next week.

  • yaaaaaayyyy

  • So much fun, I love this song!

  • wtf he looks just like mel gibson lololol

  • love it..

  • we should start a campain to have this released for summer !!!!

  • @PAUL2112MARBLES: Sorry, I don't get it. What do you mean?

Having released what? The whole concert in Modena was filmed, recorded and is out on DVD since I don't remember when. My "Secret World Live" DVD is already in bad shape...

Please excuse me, if I got you wrong.

    Greetings!

  • I have a better idea........this should be readily available on the NHS! Just think how many miserable b*stards it could cure.......and maybe it could be introduced into the House Of Commons water supply!. Wow....the we'd be motoring.

Great man....top music will never die!

  • This must be the encore..in great voice he is..part reggae, part folk song, gotta love it

  • Welcome back Mel Gibson!

  • Despite the fact he looks like Phil Brown the ex Hull City Manager here, and the end reminds me of The Moomins, this is a brilliant version of a great song

  • He stands way too close to the guy band members.

  • Amazing song! Looks like it's Mel Gibson singing =)

  • Very nice guitar work.

  • wonderful..

  • pure magic

  • is that tony levin?

  • yes.

  • haha i first heard this song covered by dave matthews and it as great, and the original also is really good, i like them both, altho i do have to say, this performance was a whole lot more cheesy than Dave's lol

  • Gabriel sure knows how to stick a gig on

  • Comment removed

  • love the dancing lol. Peter Brian Gabriel is the best musician in all history!

  • The whole concert video is amazing. This is one of the favorites that I own. Do yourself a favor and either rent or buy it.

  • Definitivno najbolja veryija ove pesme koju sam cuo.

The best version of this song I ever hear.

  • This is good music. This music beats most popular singers music out there like Lady Gaga or some other pop singer

  • don´t know what this moribund the burgermeister shit is about but that track is just fine, best for a backstabber like me.

  • One thing that strikes me about this performance is how happy Peter's band looks while they're performing with him. They genuinely look as though they are having a blast! Lots of fun.

  • Comment removed

  • what is the craic with all that skipping about the stage?lol great song anyway

  • There's feelgood & there's feelgood & boy, does this make you feel good!!!

  • We don't stop playing 'cos we get old, we get old 'cos we stop playing!

  • nice

  • the NEW Peter Gabriel album "SCRATCH MY BACK" - out middle of February in Europe and Canada, beginning of March in the USA : )

  • This song never fails to put a huge smile on my face.

  • A wonderful performance.

  • I didn't know Mel Gibson could sing.

  • Of course he can. Especially when he is Peter Gabriel!

  • hahahaha! :D

  • solsbury hill is only about 10 miles from me

  • LOL - "Mel Gibson dressed up as Han Solo"

  • That IS Han Solo. Since Han discovered this sacred site he came in to sing this beautiful song and went back to His home planet.

  • Love this video. Peter looks like Mel Gibson dressed up as Han Solo

  • Yeah, Han Solo is great, but I would say he looks more like Colin Farrell or Al Pacino, maybe Robert Downey Jr. ! =D

  • Hahahahahahahahahahaha, that is a brilliant observation.

  • @Arioch161

    indeed, you exactly matched it.....thanks:)

  • @Arioch161 yeah he DOES look like Mel Gibson!!! ahahah LOL XD

  • @Arioch161 fair call, but a little too much imagination. all good

  • @Arioch161 so perfect

  • @Arioch161 Too funny! But he can sing!

  • @Arioch161

LOL, he does look A LOT like Mel Gibson. That is funny.

  • @DoNotBeHighandMighty he's aged quite a bit since then.

  • @Arioch161 Arioch, super comparison... LOL!!! :))) I love this performance too...!!!

  • @Arioch161 Do you mind not making me laugh and spit my coffee all over my screen?

  • @Arioch161 That is pretty funny!

  • Gabriel ist der Beste!!!

  • it's timeless, might as well have been from yesterday.

  • I love the 7/8!!!

  • this song is in 7 / 8 time ? !

  • @BOAPBONES I think 7/4

  • @TokenRah Sounds more like 7/4 to me; 7/8 would probably go faster.

  • You can feel the exuberance from this performance...music is about joy, and there arent many examples that top this! Perfection! thank you PG!

  • is the bassist also from king crimson?

  • Yep, Tony Levin. He's toured with soooo many musicians, and done tons of studio work. His portfolio is really impressive.

  • he never gets old either. he looks the same as during the So tour. he must be some sort of superhuman.
