Great pedal, dying to get one. Great video, though I wish he messed with the Overdrive and Distortion at the same time a bit more. I couldn't really get a feel for what the two together sounds like.
it sound really good in my oppinion i own a digitech death metal pedal (DON'T BUY IT)
and i own a Electroharmonics Micro metalmuff (exelent metalpedal wich is able to produce 80 rock overdrive sounds and lamb of god and hardcore metal sounds)
Kind of functions in three ways, this pedal. The overdrive for a sweeter, more tube - screamy side. THe distortion, a rock gain sound. with both on, you get a fairly high gain and works as a volume boost, good for solos cutting through the mix. Or the flexibility to use just one of the sides for drive, whichever you prefer, and use the other side as just a volume boost. I've used it live numerous times, great pedal with a lot of flexibility for the price. <---Plays classic rock, blues .
@wannaberocker2 Probaly could. I use it the oppositte. The overdrive is my general distortion, want I really want to drive it I turn on the distortion and I also have it set up to boost volume. Keep in mind that I play in a primarily blues band. But yeah, I don't see why you couldn't use it the other way. That's what makes this a keeper for me, although there are other pedals that do that as well, some are higher end.
the route 66 and jekyll half are the same, the double trouble pedal is the jekyll half twice and the jekyll and hyde is a lighter, the jekyll, and a heavier overdrive, the hyde.
the route 66 overdrive and the jekyll overdrive are the same. they both emulate or supposible are the same circuts/sounds as the ts-808 tubescreamer. fave overdrive tones. then double trouble is the same if you have ever heard of that one. yep thats all i know... read the instructions if you have doubts about the tone. lolz
Jekyll&Hyde in my opinion. but if the Route 66 is a Keeley moded, that's another story. Keeley doesn't mod Route 66 anymore, but that beats everything.
These are exactly the same and in the Double Trouble too. To me, the Route 66 and the Jekyll & Hyde pedals are the best pair of saturation stomp boxes you can have : Two identical overdrives for different settings, one distortion and one compressor. The top !
i think its just a low end hiss, id assume the pedal, when its clicked off it seems to go away, but it could be a combonation with bad amp settings and bad pedal settings
Best review I have viewed to date! This is a great pedal for $150. i am going to go order this along with a Boss CE-20 Chorus Ensemble Twin Pedal once i get my paycheck. I cant wait to run these pedals through my Line 6 HD147 300W Guitar Amp Head and my EVH 5150 III 412 Guitar Extension Cabinet. I will be able to make some amazing tones with this pedal.
its got nice crunch

If you like this pedal I suggest trying an Electro Harmonix Big Muff Germanium 4. All this plus a bias
arex82 1 year ago
@arex82 well this one really has a different tone than the electro harmonix... comes down to personal preference imo...

could i use the distortion side and use the overdrive one as a volume boos while the distortion side's still running?

I play anything from blues to worship to metal. Recommend this pedal?
ajb2k9 1 year ago
@ajb2k9 Yes, very versatile. I'd say use the overdrive side for the worship stuff, can go as a clean boost or an overdrive.

@w1ll1a9m I (excuse the pun) biased, everything sound better through a tube amp. But sure if Solid state is your thing.

Visual Sound overdrives are better than old TS808. These have more gain. And because of the bass boost, I'm not so sure a Keeley would be better.
