my grandmother had piano lessons with glenn gould when she was young and her teacher was away. she described him as a funny little man who hit her knuckles with a ruler every time she made a mistake.
@mdacatrina Hmm that is a strange claim as Gould was NOT a teacher and did not want to teach piano. He was also not a small man at 5'11 per evidence on his passport. The knuckle hitting does not sound one bit like Glenn either.
@TheOtherMusicMan oh. i guess i didn't word it very well...she had him as a replacement for maybe one or two lessons, possibly three. and she was very tall, even when she was young, so it's possible he seemed short to her. but that's just how she described it. sorry if i caused any confusion! i didn't mean to!
@mdacatrina Perhaps some confusuion. It was probably not Glenn Gould as he was so far up on the ladder, there is no way he would fill a substitute position. Also because he would never had hit anyone's hands for a booboo as he himself was extremely careful of his on fingers and hands. Your grandmother was not in a music lesson situation with him.
I like the beginning of the film which is not the same.

Was this actually Glenn's voice being dubbed onto video? Or is it the actor? If so he's done a fantastic job!

Colm Feore is brilliant. Such incredible work to make it seem so natural.

The actor mastered Gould's unique prosody. Great performance.
