If people want to see the difference between digital cinematography and good old film, I suggest comparing this video to the Magnum "Five Sense" commercial which can also be found on Youtube. In digital such as this video here, the world and people look like they're made out of plastic or metal; and there's no texture or "weight" to the world. But when you look at the film-shot "five sense" commercial, it looks ridiculously deep and alive; people's skin has actual texture and depth to it.

I was comparing the quality and nature of images that we had for 100 years vs the noise that inundates us now. If ice cream isn't lofty enough of a thing to care about, what about television news? What about movies and TV shows and internet videos--you know, all the stuff that people absorb for several hours every day. Because that's the larger issue.

This is a terrible example of directing, Karl should stick to what he knows. Even if the intention is for the "film" is to be a parody of a photo shoot it should still be somewhat interesting and creative. As for the "series", where is the correlation? The only congruency I see is that the two lead characters are the same. Its brutal to think anyone would kiss Karls ass enough to tell him its anything but horrendous. Though I've gotta give the guy some credit, he did teach us how to use clichés.
