  • Now that's how all chiefs should drive

  • Dats the fucking boss......Nice....

  • At least their Chief gives a sh_t, and is out there doing something!! I say dam fine job gentlemen! :-)

  • Chief doin' good work! I'd like to see him and a cop race lol

  • I love watching this, this is working together, the best way to drive code 3 for a fire engine you don't have to use your brakes a lot and it is save driving. I did this work for almost 16 years and it was always fun to see patrol cars behind you flashing and searching for a way to pass you like they are in hot pursuit and no way that I had to pull over or feel bad I like you do when you drive your own car and see the lights in your mirror ;-)

  • Cops like to pass u guys, dont they?

  • @piolet41 that's not a cop...it's the chief...

  • @niceparkjob hola mijo soy colombiano y soy bombero voluntario q mas bn

  • @stiven27285 refresque a petimetre

  • @niceparkjob My bad, in my dept, and in all surrounding dept's, the chiefs have SUV's, not cars.

  • That always pisses me off when the cops pass us lol, like at 1:45

  • @piolet41 look closer at the 1:25 area and see exactly why the Crown Vic is passing them

  • If another officer is already Incident Commander on site, there's no reason for the Chief to not do what he's doing. Everyone knows 2nd through an intersection when running code enroute is the most dangerous. Whoever is on-site as the IC isn't going to get the experience to act as the IC if the Chief always shows up and takes lead every time.

  • Very nice video. Nothing like riding Code 3 in big red.

It won't let me post the picture link but the Crown Vic in the video is in fact a Jackson Miss. Fire Dept. command vehicle.

  • how big is the cab? 6 man?

  • if you look it wasnt the chief, it was the police stopping traffic for them...like a big red fire engine blazing down the road isnt enough to stop traffic..lol

  • @socalicouple im almost 100% sure it a chief cuz 1. red paint job 2. red only lights 3. emblem on side

  • actually that is a very smart idea...the chief is going to get there and pretty much say, yep its on fire, maybe look for a hydrant, size up the scene. That engine is actually going to get the fire out. Him blocking the traffic is allowing the truck to get there faster...very smart idea

  • love the chief clearing traffic i did this once with my chief i

  • is that a q2b or eq2b

  • That is the best way to block for a rig so they get there faster! "I got the medal to the petal and the thing to the floor!" Smokey and the Bandit

  • Jackson, MS Fire Dept. the best Fire Dept in Mississippi.......

  • TEAM WORK!!!

  • awsome i see the chief doesnt have a problem with putting the pedal down

  • yea, it looked like he was using his ride to block for the engine in intersections to trim the response time. good use of apparatus

  • I'm sure there is already an incident commander on scene. Many firefighters die while responding TO a fire so any help you can get to prevent an accident is good.

  • yea i guess your right

  • he's making sure that the truck with all the tools and hose on it gets there safe. would you rather have a white hat with nothing, or an engine fully stocked.

  • how do you know this is a white hat besides once he gets thare the grunts do all the work anyways

  • in other videos it is said that this is a district chief. if you dont believe me ask the owner of the video who works with him. he stops at the intersections to make sure that his engine gets through safely.

  • @CTFD13 hes just being an asshole and he thinks he owns the road you cant see that !?

  • @Skankpronger Either that or judging by the number of school buses, perhaps its around time when kids get out of school, and hes making sure no accidents occur between fire truck and school bus in an intersection? The police should do this regularly during high traffic hours or times when children are getting out of school. It makes more sense then having a freight train blasting through intersections blindly

  • Ferrara Fire Apparatus FOR THE FUCKING WIN BABY!

  • your hauling ASS HOLY SHIT

  • that truck has got some leg to it

  • HEY! You sure are an observant fella! Maybe you should quit your picture taking job and be a Fire "CHEIF"(SP) ! You ant one of those guys on the VOL. Depart. that KNOWS everything and tells everyone how to do something you only read in a book are you? I've heard about 'um.

  • @rfhall58 I couldn't agree more if you have the class then your welcome to say your part but if not don't act like your FDNY Battalion chief, National Fire Academy instructer or DCFD chief,I'm not saying dont learn I'm just saying don't be doosh about it

  • @jtsfirephotography GET orders? Ahhh, I'm pretty sure he GIVES the orders...and he can't give orders if none of his men are there. DUMBASS!

  • lol, the driver looks like he's saying "don't look, don't look." in his head

  • awesome video

  • 0:38 to 0:40 nice Q technique. :-)

  • YEA they do do it sometimes in cali. im an explorer and absolutely love see this..

when its serious or any officer down, the police will follow right next to the ambulance and block off the intersections ina "leap frog" technique as the fire truck leads.

beautiful coordination and professional look wen it is done.

  • Lol companys here in PA don't do that

    Comment on my vids!!

  • I looks like a game of CAT (engine) and MOUSE (chief)

  • thats cool that the chief kinda stayed with ya.

  • Never seen a pd clear intersections before you must have a good partnership between the departments. That was great

  • Thats a cheif.

  • they always do it (at least in cali) wen its a serious case

  • Two things I noticed; one no seat belt usage and two I love the way PD cleared the intersections

  • Great stuff! Im a firefighter in the UK, but nothing we do is on the scale of you guys, i love it! I dont suppose you know if there is any way a Brit could join an american F.D? It would be something i would love to do

  • yes sir you can join any dept in the US as long as you can speak good english and understand it as well. You have as good of a chance as any other american in joining a FD here in America. I myself am a firefighter in Anthony, New Mexico and i love it but as long as you get your emt-b or emt-i or all the way to a paramedic you can be a firefighter you have a better chance of getting hired if you get your paramedics and your firefighter one and have some hands on experience.

  • Citizenship first. Its a tough game to play (My wife is from France, and had to go threw a nightmare even with her being my wife and all)

But your from the UK, so speaking the language is not an issue, just the different names we have for things... your lorry is our semi, the dumpster or trash can is your bin, bobby's are cops, fire engine is fire appliance...etc etc....

But go for it and cheers !

  • nice video

  • cheif clearing the intersection NICE

  • How awesome is that you have a cheif clear the intersection for you thats wicked cool.

  • YEA ITS COOL! if you look up some San Francisco vids on YT,youll see that they do it down there too.

  • is that a ferrara engine?

  • Thats rite! We have an e-one now.

  • cool

  • Its like football, the car blocks the traffic so the truck can make a clean run to the goal. Im so clever :)

  • :) but in football the big fella usually blocks for the lil'guy ! thats the only time I had a blocker in the 26 years I been on the job, diffinately not the norm but ...it had to have looked COOL watchin' us go by! Merry Christmas!

  • Very dangerous to blow that light. The engineer could not see and was driving way too fast. If he continues to respond that way some one is going to get killed. there was no way for the driver to know if it was clear even with the help of the cop!

  • lol thats chief is a riot :-)

  • perfectly executed commute! I love how the vic warned intersections of your approach!

  • I really like how the chief does that!

  • Is that the Fire Chiefs Ford crown vic though ?

  • that is the district chiefs crown vic

  • I don't want to correct you but that small car is the Fire Chiefs Car and he follows the bigger trucks to bigger emergencies !!!

  • wouldnt really call it following, i would more likely put it as a fullback blocking a QB. only a small size difference between the two.

  • i wonder why the small red car with siren on it, why does it goes fast than u? Also i wonder how many MPH up to u can go fast?

  • Nice to have him protect intersections for you! Lessens your response time, saves wear and tear, brakes, fuel, and pollution.

    No one wearing seat-belts?

Was nice when no siren when not needed.

People are tired of needless noise pollution.

Would like to have seen the entire run to the scene.

  • sweet video. you think you could get a video of the driver drivin to a call. at an angle so you can sort of see where their going also. thanks!

  • nice vid i live in jackson doin a great job keep up the good work.

  • Wow i like the idea of that car to go ahead into the intersection to stop traffic

  • same here thats pretty cool

  • yeah its definitely a good idea

  • That cop was driving like he was carrying 1000 gallons of water and 1500 feet of hose!!!

  • That was no cop,That was our Dist.Chief staioned in our house :) He should of been a cop!

  • Yeah that's true. The only time you need to lay down on the Q is busting an intersetion or of thier is heavy traffic.

  • Never seen a car block intersections like that, pretty neat.

  • Hey Man! Sorry about the 2WEEK delay! To answer your Q, No it was not a working fire, the Apt. complex is across the road from another Firehouse and they didn't start hollerin so I figured it wouldn't be anything so thats why I videoed,no time to take pics when you gotta get ready for the party :) Where you located?

  • nice video u guys fly i wish our drives flew like that
