I understand where you're coming from. I myself feel that dating is for finding the person you want to spend your life with. I feel, if I have no plans to marry you, why take it past a friendship? I mean, what for? Social status? Sex (which you should wait till marriage for anyways)? Fear of being alone? People don't take to time and energy to learn who THEY are. No, thats not actually true. Just because a man is with a woman for a while with no indications of marriage doesnt mean the man is in it only for sex. You can get sex at any time with anyone, so thats not logical. What it may be, is that the man may not want to make that step at that moment, even if the woman feels its that time. Take into consideration that some men do care about marriage, and take it seriously. Also, men tend to shy away from that topic.

I personally don't know any men who have been in a serious romantic relationship with a woman for more then a year and manage not to have sex with her. After about a year the guys I know proposed to the young lady, and with in a year they were married.
Had they let the brothers get it the first few weeks, chances are they would not have gotten married
