i love this song, but this is bullshit its a rumor that the shooter asked her. This happened in columbine 1999. the person was with her and only heard her say "dear god, i just want to go home".
if you are going to make a music video for a song, don't use video clips from other songs in it....just cuz it's all flyleaf doesnt meant it's all cassie....
Cause of the ignorance of students, Cassie Barnell's family now makes money off books and music made off their daughter's blood and the pathetic mistake of witnesses. If anyone that should be getting the fame for the question "Do you Believe in God?" it's Valeen Schnurr. Cassie was shot by Harris after he tapped on the table she was hiding under and when he said "Pika-boo. So overall this song is utter failure.
@HypocriteSkeleton3 While I agree that it was Valeen Schnurr that was most likely asked, that doesn't mean the song is a failure. It still brings a powerful message about faith.
@kitcatkat13 Not really, because it's basically saying that if you believe in God, you will be shot. and 95% of the time, people don't care what you believe in. It's actually Christians most of the time that try and convert people to Christianity.
Dammit, even Flyleaf bought the whole 'Cassie said 'Yes'' story and made a song about it. (I think they should've written about the twisted minds of the two boys who killed her instead.)
But, I will give it credit: The music and her voice is great, as always. Shows how much empathy a rocker chick can have. That last sentence made me picture Dylan Klebold saying "I will pull the trigger," smiling, as he points the gun down at one of him victims...as if the rest was all from Cassie's POV first.
@brain3000 What the hell are you talking about "this story isn't true"? Are you serious? This was a slaughter of innocent teens in Columbine.. That statement is as ridiculous as the people who say the Holocaust never happened.
I believe this was referring to the martyrdom of Cassie (being asked whether she believed in God, saying yes, then being shot) being a myth, not that the Columbine massacre didn't happen.
I do not consider myself a big "religious" person, but spiritual. I believe that religion is a good way to escape and comfort, but there are those out there that turn it into more of a "competition" instead of seeing the bigger picture. I like this song because it goes to show that people are still brave enough to stand up for their beliefs, while it is a little morbid and creepy, it does give a positive message. RIP Columbine victims.
this song is amazing and the fact that she stood up for her faith says so much about her. Her last moments are an inspiration to many and her life DID count. Its too bad more christians arent that confident of their faith <3
This song is about Cassie Bernall, a student at Columbine High School who was killed in the massacre that occurred there. It was reported that her killer asked her if she believed in God, and when she answered "Yes" he killed her with a single gunshot to the head. Later investigations revealed that the question "Do you believe in God?" was actually asked to Valeen Schnurr, a student who survived the Columbine Massacre, by shooter Dylan Klebold.
@puffthemajicdragon1 You don't understand the song she said yes, knowing she was gonna die, because that just shows how much she loves God. Unlike you , as the looks of it.
@puffthemajicdragon1 Yes, she knew she was going to die. That is the whole point of the song. She loved God enough to die rather than deny she loved and believed in him. She was faithful because even when knowing that saying she believed in him would get her killed, she would rather die than revoke / deny her beliefs and betray God. It's not at all about intelligence or lack of it. It's about her staying faithful to God EVEN in the worst of situations when it would be so much easier to deny it.
@kitcatkat13 listen thats my opinion any ways- but i think it was selfish of her to say yes knowing she had a family that would miss her so much. im all up for god but i dont think u should ill ur self metiforkily speaking for no cause
@puffthemajicdragon1 It wasn't for no cause. It was for the greatest cause. People die all the time from drunk drivers or disease. At least her family would know she was willing to die for God, who would have met her in death and said "Well done, my good and faithful servant."
@InuSenshi like i said its my opinion and thats youres i respect that. but me mabey only me thinks that its was really no point to die for a belif for no setemental cause not yours mine
@ATDFXN I knew that. c: That was more for this hypothetical situation in the song. Like, if this was real, than that would be the basis for her decision that she made.
Im sorry, I love what this song means, but it wasnt said to her, there are witnesses who say it didnt happen, he asked another girl that though, when he was reloading his gun and got distracted so she pretended to be dead...
I don't believe in God, I do believe in freedom of religion. Nobody should have to pay for what they believe in. Love the song, does anybody know more songs about the Columbine shooting?
During the days following the killings in April of 1999, several of the students who were in the library where Cassie and others were shot said she had been confronted by one of the gunmen, Dylan Klebold, and asked whether she believed in God. It was reported that she said "yes" and was immediately shot and killed. The girl told Cassey "Peekaboo" and she was shot.
@chipettefan22 remember the bible says we should rejoice in our persecution because that will mean the bible is right. not to mean its good we die but because when we die as true Christians we will be in His kingdom. :P

@chipettefan22 I researched this case pretty extensively for a paper once.Eric Harris was a cruel narcissistic psychopath. He killed to appease his own ego, and he duped a gullible depressed trainwreck named Dylan Kliebold into helping him. Religion didn't enter into it, and if he did ask that question, it was just to toy with one of his victims.
It wasn't an anti-Christian "hate crime". They just did it for their own sick sense of amusement.

I would of no doubt say yes unless i was in this situation where im carrying.... because I wouldn't want my baby to never have a chance of life him or herself...
If you couls our run a blullet then run, but think about this:

@TabbiCat101 wow! how did you do that?! :D i agree lol this person has spent lots of time putting this togeather, there is obvious effort for the words to match the singers mouth movement in the video AND if your not a fan of the song, watch something else haha whats the point in wasting time on something you dont like? If i listened to something i didnt like, id just change it so i could sing along instead! x3
@SIERAHSN yes she was killed in the columbine school shooting eric harris put a gun to cassies head and said "do you believe in god"? she said yes and he blew her brains out :(
@pacora24 actually first he asked her if she believed in god,she said yes and he shot her, she was still alive and he asked her again if she still believed in god and she still answered yes knowing that she would get shot again.Sad eh?RIP Cassie
@patdxmcrxluv@pacora24 That is NOT what happened!! She was hiding under a table and this guy with a gun bent over, said "Peek-a-boo", and shot her in the head
I love this song. And even though I am an atheist myself, I have so much respect for people who stand up for their beliefs like that. No-one deserves to be discriminated against for part of what makes them them self. Evangelical atheist are just as bad as evangelical members of any faith. The attacking form many fellow atheists of mine take against people in these videos saddens me. I know all I want is for everyone to rub along together happily. I know other people want the same thing.

This song is about a woman named cassie who was murdered for saying yes when the guy was holding a gun to her saying "DO YOU BELIVE IN GOD!" she knew what would happen.
R.I.P.........i cried when i first herd this story behind the song D:
All the cute little brainwashed people in here. Cassie died because she was a dumb bitch who was also brain washed into believing Jesus was real. The greeks believed Zeus was real. We now call that mythology lol.
So sent me to hell all you want! Cassie will be waiting there to suck my fat cock! :)
@MastodonManiac You listen here, if you don't like this song, calmly click on the dislike button! Why did you leave a comment like that?! FLYLEAF IS AN AWESOME BAND! IF YOU DON'T LIKE THEM, THAT'S YOUR LOSS!!
@MastodonManiac You are motherfucking idiot! You need to be hung from the tallest bulidng in the world for saying something like that! I cannot belive you, you self centered egotistical idiotic jerk! You are a dumb asshole who doesnt even deserve life! GO SHOOT YOURSELF!!!
@MastodonManiac well guess wat. YOU'RE the dumb b**** who should go die in a fire with Satan!!!!!! Cassie was the bravest soul alive telling the truth like that. At least she fought for wat she believed in! I bet u wouldn't do that. I'll bet you'd lie and STILL die in a m-effing fire.
@whytemc1 very well put your right they shud look at the video the way it was intended by flyleaf to honor people that died on that tragic day RIP columbine victims
@2043cookie1 well, actually, it's about the columbine high school drama where there was a shooting. a boy with a gun asked a girl named cassy: do you believe in god? say yes to pull the trigger. And as you can guess, she said yes. Sorry if you already knew this
i love this song, but this is bullshit its a rumor that the shooter asked her. This happened in columbine 1999. the person was with her and only heard her say "dear god, i just want to go home".

Whether it was Cassie or Valeen who actually answered this question; both should be honored:) injured or killed.
RIP all those who died, including Eric and Dylan:/<3

The lyrics should be this, Eric said peeka-boo, and he pulled the trigger. LMFAO!
HypocriteSkeleton3 8 months ago

@TabbiCat101 wow! how did you do that?! :D i agree lol this person has spent lots of time putting this togeather, there is obvious effort for the words to match the singers mouth movement in the video AND if your not a fan of the song, watch something else haha whats the point in wasting time on something you dont like? If i listened to something i didnt like, id just change it so i could sing along instead! x3

@2043cookie1 well, actually, it's about the columbine high school drama where there was a shooting. a boy with a gun asked a girl named cassy: do you believe in god? say yes to pull the trigger. And as you can guess, she said yes. Sorry if you already knew this
