  • "the whole crowd is in a state of shock right now..... we've got 250 people here"

  • and next on wild life cunts playing tennis

  • lol bruno is my tennis coach now!!!:D he told us the story of this footfault

  • Just rehashing some of the previously mentioned points here: First, although it looks like Bruno did not foot fault, one cannot say that for certain because the viewer might not have the right angle, or more accurately the perspective of the line judge. Second, foot faulting is more common than people think, and is not only reserved for the "serve-and-volleyers". It might be worth mentioning that people "tend" to "toe the line" or shuffle in stressful situations or tired

  • @sarasmilepiano This is not to say that Bruno did those things. Lastly, the behavior of Mr. Echagaray was unacceptable, no excuses. Part of being a professional is controlling your emotions and not acting like a temper tantrum toddler after a lost point- even on match point. This hurts not only the player who lost but everyone involved in that match (from the fans to the people working at the venue).

  • Whoa it's really something serious, omg how serious it is, it's not like it was a game.

The dramatic voice of the commentator makes this video even more ridiculous.

  • He's now turned over... he's turned over... the chair!!!

  • uncle toni getting a little testy here.

  • Most fucked up call ever. lol

  • Also, the guy commentating sounds as though someone killed Obama... 'I mean, I'm just in a state of shock, the whole crowd, 250 people here, everyone is in a state of shock.... it's just, (sigh), it's just incredible...' get over it, it's not like anyone died

  • The guy who lost is WAY overeacting, it wasn't that much of an outrage.

  • how is this the 'most exciting match point and match ending in tennis EVER' ? There wasn't even a match point.

  • thumbs up if you also checked your phone if it wasnt gonna ring!

  • unwritten rules of tennis obviously broken here

  • Officials are guided by knowledge of the rules that they should apply with wisdom. There are times they should use common sense and logic in recognizing if it is a "let go" situation. Basketball refs encounter this so many times, so they pretty much have it down pat. Lines people are faced with this once or twice in a lifetime.

Posters here supporting the call as the correct one are missing the spirit of the rule and focusing on the letter.

    This call was horrific.

  • ......and this is y he's not pro

  • this kind of insane anger, and mindless action can only be the end result of STEROIDS!!

  • That is some serious bad call

  • I truly wish the server had been John P. McEnroe in a grand slam final. Perhaps we would've seen a bit more calm demeanor being displayed.

On a more serious note, I hope this was that lines-persons' LAST call. If he is still calling matches I'd say "YOU CANNOT BE SERIOUS!"

  • The announcer really isn't a full time tennis commentator. He moonlights as a tennis commentator for a second income to his regular job as the head librarian for the city of Dallas.

  • Tie-break in final set... What a waste of (insert any word here).

  • the announcer is auditioning for a job on the pga tour...shhhhh...

  • That referee was a fucking prick. I woulda beat his ass!

  • wow what an awful call. He was clearly behind the line and in the air. That serve could not be any more textbook regarding your footwork.

  • @frilloz4 if youre on the line when you start the swing its a foot fault even if you move youre foot before the ball touches the racket

  • @snaerinnawesome but his foot was behind the line.

  • You allow brothers on tennis tournaments, you see what happens... Stupid rabid gorilla !

  • Wait WHAT HAPPENED???

  • felt like i was watching discovery tennis channel... LOL

  • Don't fall asleep !!!

  • i just love the way his voice is so calm and the tennis play is going mental :L

  • that was a total bs call. Referees are supposed to use discretion when making close calls like that, especially on match point. That referee was a tool.

  • the commentator sounds like discovery channel or animal planet wtf?

  • the commentator gives me the chills, he should be the narrator for a horror movie or sth:))

  • the voice of the commentator... ahahah

  • /ragequit

  • Foot Fault or not, he should not have smashed his racquet or lost his temper. He could have asked the line judge/umpire nicely instead of acting like a retarded monkey.

  • @Timothy9BALA lol what do you think it was when he stood there for like ten seconds? He was looking at the chair ump to see if it would actually happen, and it did. Stop acting like nice guys always win. They don't, faggot.

  • "I mean, I'm in a state of shock, the whole crowd, we've got 250 people her-.....scratch that, 3 people here, everyone.....is in a state of shock right now."

  • Haha I know the commentator is awesome haha

  • That's a tough way to lose but you've got to control yourself. I felt like he was inches away from attacking someone.

  • does anyone else get the feeling that this commentator used be a wild life expert for some show on animal planet. As he whispers he sounds like he is filming some lions or something, hahahaha. I love it!

  • him and serena should date lol jp i love serena

  • Comment removed

  • who the fuck is this douche

  • fucking stupid umpire

  • Definitely not a foot fault. Not even close.

  • doesnt look like a foot fault

  • come on... this is scripted.. no foot fault

  • look at his feet, no foot fault

  • You call that commentating?? Sounds more like a history lecture.

  • rage

  • OMG I love the commentator =]

  • @brasiliastyle

    @brasiliastyle

    LOL commentator is a legend.

he talks like those guys in animal planet on discovery channel when they observe a certain animal from a distance and strictly comment on every move it has made.

    ROFLMAO!!!

  • hahaha, lmao!!! this because i use to play with bruno @ the itf accademy @ fort lauderdale florida.. so i know him and this is defenitly bruno hahaha

he hasn't change after all these years hahha.. but still, it's an unwritten rule.. do not call foot fault at an important point as this one!!

    lol lol lol

  • Dudee...

And I didn't even see the foot fault at all! LOL

It's funny when he gets out of the screen and you keep hearing the BLAM BLAM from his smacking his racket.

  • a sell out crowd of 5

  • lol the people hating on the umpires need to go to hell. If they see it, are they not supposed to call it? if its Serena? or some challenger? Rules are rules people.

  • That's what happens when the idiot chair umpire lets the total professional loser linesman get away with this call.

  • oh my goodness, he's now turned ovah.............he's turned ovah the chairhh.

  • commentator makes me fall sleep!

  • stupid refs that call that shit just want attention or want to feel like "im doing my job." fuck them

  • OMFG THE COMMENTATOR HAS TO DESCRIBE EVERY DETAIL IN SUCH A MONOTONOUS VOICE I LOVE HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wow. this guy really needs to get anger management.

  • @7399me Nah he was justified. He shoulda punched out the linesman.

  • @7399me NO the Fucking lines man needs to get some glasses as hard as this guy prolly works then the empire calls his shit out just to end the match he should have redun the point shit like that just doesnt fly on match point that empire definitly had bad blood for the player

  • "We've got 250 people here and every one is in a state of shock right now" hahaha

  • lol omg he has turned over..... he has turned over........ a chair

  • this guy should announce every grand slam

  • Wow..thats tough. Losing on a foot fault call. Ouch. Unfortunately he picked the wrong time in the match to double-fault.

  • such a stupid commentator! what a drag!

  • that wasnt even close to a foot fault....

  • i dnt get it

  • I dont see any people....250 people my neck!

  • This commentator is so so high!!!

  • Funniest tennis commentator ever. =D

  • when has complaining to a line judge ever actually worked?? please name one time. like they're gonna say "oh yeah, you were right" hahahaha. this guy didn't foot fault that's the whole point of this video being here, it's pretty clear he didn't foot fault. even if he did what kind of a dick calls a foot fault when it's not totally blatant, on match point? douchebag just wanted to feel like he was a 'part' of the match

  • @turdferguson2 wtf, is it really possible to see whether he foot faulted or not from this video?

  • @turdferguson2

It's the rules, that ticks me off more than anything is pros complaining about this rule. It's fair for everyone. It happened.

  • @turdferguson2

And look, I don't care if the match is Roger Federer vs. Rafael Nadal at Wimbledon, and it's set point in the fifth set and both men have 16 majors (maybe two or three years from now) so the winner determines who the GOAT is, if either Federer or Nadal commits a foot fault, they SHOULD be called for it, and if I were an umpire, I'd call it every time.

  • @cougarsrule45 I don't think you would ;) I really really don't think you would. But ok. You are right that it's a rule it's just my opinion that there are some situations where you should just not call a FF. Also this guy really doesn't seem to foot-fault at all from this angle, both his feet are behind the line until after he hits the ball and jumps into the court.

  • @turdferguson2

Yes I would, UNDER THE CURRENT RULES. Now, I think every pro would agree that having a foot fault called on match point is a crappy way to lose. So, here's my solution. If a foot fault is called ON MATCH POINT ONLY (not on just set point), then the player should get another second serve. The penalty should come on the next point. That player should forfeit his next first serve (meaning he only has one serve to get the next ball in). Is that fair.?

  • @cougarsrule45 I disagree with your points. The crux of the matter is a footfall is EXTREMELY hard to call accurately. There is no point in calling foot faults when it's too close to call similar to this situation...

  • @MeAkouTube

Then why have the rule? The players make up the game, the players have the power to change this rule, but they haven't yet. As long as it is a rule, it should be called. The players need to get together and change the rule if they don't like it, plain and simple.

  • @cougarsrule45 No, my point is, FF is a judgement call. Much like the offensive foul in basketball. In the NBA. If you'd notice, d closing secs of a playoff, they normally let a lot of contact go. Refs would rather let the players win it thru their own skill rather than call the offensive or defensive foul. You don't hear anybody moving for the removal of the offensive foul in basketball do you?

  • @MeAkouTube

See and to me that way of thinking represents a lack of integrity. Either a FF happened or it didn't. Either an offensive foul happened or it didn't. A player that commits an offensive foul has an unnatural advantage not based on skill over the other/defending player. Same with a FF. You've either got to come up with a system that perfectly calls these rules (impossible) OR, modify the rules such that end of match (or end of playoff) situations are a bit different.

  • @MeAkouTube

Kind of like what the NFL did with changing the overtime rules ONLY for the playoffs when it means more. A FF is a sucky way to lose a match because one, it doesn't give you a huge advantage, and two it's a judgment call. So you change the rule on match points to where it doesn't cost you the match. You could also do it on service games where the match isn't necessarily lost but it gives the opposing players a break such that they can win the match on the next service game.

  • why smash the racquet? it's his foot that committed the fault.

instead of complaining to the line judge like any logical person would have (hell even Serena behaved more reasonably), he goes on a racquet-thrashing rampage around the court and, as the commentator keenly observes, "turns over the chair"

  • ok it's unfortunate but "the worst thing you've ever seen"...? hmm..

  • any ref who calls a foot fault on match point is a total douche and should be beaten to oblivion. A jury would acquit that man if he did it.

  • the commentator seems so enthusastic

  • The person commentating this game has a really smooth sounding voice

  • poor bastard, that ump needs a beatdown. also why did the commentator obviously down like 5 Xanax before doing his job?

  • @turdferguson2 the umpire didn't call the foot fault...learn tennis before you comment please

  • @kaibamaddness you know what i mean faggot.

  • hahaha look at him go.

  • at this level you can't beat an umpire, it would be the end of his career... But it must've been really hard to keep himself from beating him lol, the umpire is so stupid, you don't call footfalt on matchpoint, (especially when there's no footfalt^^).

I love the commentator, he is in shock and talks so slowly...

  • @69wiwi69 I take issue with this. So you're saying we should suspend the rules just for matchpoint? That's like saying, you shouldn't call double faults on match point, because it's a less flashy ending. I do agree that you shouldn't call foot faults when there isn't one.

  • @CrimsonFlameRTR

Yeah you're right, it's not what I wanted to say. It's just that this footfalt is far from being obvious, and I wanted to say that you don't call a footfalt on match point when you're not absolutely sure. If I were that umpire, I wouldn't call it until I'm entirely sure

  • @CrimsonFlameRTR No, just don't call FF on matchpoint when it's too close to call. Think about it, if you didn't call a FF (if he did FF) was the FF material to him winning the point if he eventually did? Most likely not. If you did call a FF and he didn't actually FF, was it material to him losing the point, yes 100%.

  • its like watching discovery channel

  • the commentator is monotone

  • lmao, the announcer had me rolling

  • serena would be proud

  • Pussy Bitch

  • Are he just a stooped?

  • It WOULD be a women. She can go make sandwiches...

  • That wasn't a fucking foot fault.....whoever called that needs to see an optometrist.

  • LOL ^^ comme Serena Williams US OPEN 2009, 1/2 face a Kim Clijster ^^

  • that was not a fucking foot fault.

  • hopefully the judge was suspended?

  • i once lost it (not due to a bad call or anything, but due to being pissed off at the mediocrytes who continue to suck the passion out of me at the club i worked at), where i went behind the court to get a ball, kicked one of the plastic chairs and got my foot stuck in it. i continued to try to shake the chair off my foot and finally flinged the chair over the fence. this made me think of that night. i could feel his pain.

  • there's not a soul to be seen there guys.... soooo weird

  • it wasn't footfall !!!

  • How was that a foot fault?

  • wow if some1 did that 2 me during a match i would charge

  • nobody should be entitled to call foot fault on a match point - even if the guy climbs to the top of the net and serves from there

  • Comment removed

  • im callin this rasict now

  • she called foot fault even before he hit the ball which is bs.

  • Ay, Bruno...

  • never a food fault!!!!!!!

  • Poor Retard

  • the guy is retarded

  • this commentator makes me want to kill myself.

  • yeah, that was a footfault... :S

that linesman needs to go to specsavers..

  • hahahhhaa

  • Foot fault??? It wasnt! Just like Serena's accident.

  • FOOT FAULT? are you kidding?

  • Jajajaja pobrecillo Bruno

  • someone needs to grow up.

  • hahaha wildlife documentary....like those commentators whispering, afraid that the animal doesnt hear them

  • omg....had anyone made a call like this in a slam final....just imagine....he would be murdered

  • NOT foot fault !! so many times they choose bigest idiots to be linesman who cant even play tennis

  • damn thats not a foot fault....look at it...lol

  • 'ohh my goodness...hes now turned over....turned over....the CHAIR!!' hahaha funny

  • Comment removed

  • it is very sad to watch it, these players are not earning much money ... and there are no videos checking it ...

  • this is definitely not a foot fault, i always hate girls line, they always make wrong calls...

  • nice commentary, on the rager

  • I still remember that Asian lines person was racist against Serena and made her lose the match. What a shame.

  • @ xfreshvegx

No, Serena was called on a foot fault at 15-30 on her serve which made it 15-40 meaning match point for clijsters at which point she told the asian lineswoman she would shove the tennis ball down her throat and was consequently deducted a further point for unsportsmanlike conduct giving clijsters the match.

  • didnt the same happen to serena williams in the last us open? :)

  • The other difference is this was the first foot fault of the match...

  • What douchbag would call a foot fault on match point......you just don't do that...what a prick.....but that is sooooooo funny what he does hahahahaha

  • hes turning over the chaaaaaaaaaaiirrrrrr

  • @JoshDando

    lol!

    Anyway, what a terrible end..

  • commentary sounds like a rivers ad lol

  • Horrible call. It looke marginal at best. Never on a match point. Let the players decide the winner.

  • Commentary terrible

  • I was actually watching this match when it all took place. One of the worst calls I've ever seen but the reaction made it all worth it.

  • @osalsyst88 cause im sure you were staring at his feet...

  • Nice try there Qboy. I don't know whether it was an actual foot fault or not. Either way, this is not the way a match this close or any match really should end. It's like an unwritten rule

  • Terrible call. Nobody wanted that call to be made. Nobody wants to win that way

  • never seen that

  • im actuallycryin at thiscommentary omg he isgreat

  • I think he has a reason to be mad.

  • oh..my..goodness, he has..turned..over..a..chair..... lol

  • Even though I have a hunch that the call was total bullshit, he shouldn't have done all that. It was immature and the ITF should ban him! Smashing his racket is one thing, but doing it right in front of the linesman and flipping over the chair?! Come on! There's no need for that.

And some foot fault rules are total bullshit. If he seriously foot faulted in the generally accepted way, fine. But if it's like one of the ones Safin got called for because of where he started, then fuck that...

  • lol the english commentator is hilarious..."oh my goodness...this is incredible...he has completely lost it. he is absolutely furious."

  • w foot faul in match point. The guy began destroyng chairs. Insane

  • WHAT IS HAPPENED AT 0:20?????

  • @speedtoucher007 1st serve went in the net, but you must mean something different

  • Comment removed

  • Then we just stand at the net and serve from there, care if it's in the rules :P

  • that must be a fake xD

  • Sure it was a bad display, but seriously, who the f*** calls foot fault on such a point?! I don't care if it's in the rules...it's just plain malicious! The line judge should have ignored it - nobody would have known. Echagaray crossed the line, but given the circumstances I feel sympathy more than anything else.

  • how is serena williams worse? some people just like to hate other people. how after watching this atrocious display and compare it with what was a disgusting display on serena's behalf and say that hers was worse. NO WAY- this is the worst thing ive seen on youtube.

  • @gospelbwoi yeah that smashed splintered graphite frame tossed across to the other backstop was highly life threatening IMO

  • who are these guys?

  • "I'm going to take this !@#$in' ball and shove it down your !@#$in' throat."

  • that is so serena williams:P

  • this commentator does not want that job

  • This commentator is terrible.

  • This doesn't look like a footfault at all.

  • LMAO LOVE THE COMMENTARY
