I was on the ramp right next to it when it exploded!! :O Everyone was going all slow trying to watch it and we saw that it was gunna blow so we honked our horn to get everyone going faster then we just swerved between people and it blew!:O It was scary O_O kinda like a movie XD

I assure you this is the Atlas Foundry explosion in Tacoma. Only the axle of the truck was tossed up onto the viaduct, not the entire truck. I know, because I watched this happen first hand.

Being a bleve-geek, I noticed an interesting detail: If you watch the dark object at the base of the first fire...that is the tank on fire. Watch and you'll actually see the tank blow open to release the boiling propane.

lol, that person in the video is actually a friend of mine. a gas leak occured when a trucker was loading up there. the explosion was cuase by a spark lighting a cig. the trucker died in the hospital a couple of weeks later. but that was the only person that got hurt by it. this shook the buildings and i feel the heatwave 2 miles away.

It started when some kind of Tanker truck caught fire at the Atlas Foundry,when the tanker blew,it threw it up onto the Overpass.The only fatality was the Truck driver.I live about 5-10minutes away and Drive by there quite often.

I live over nerar 56th and Pine and lost power for a seconed and my house shook. That was a tragedy. ATLAS states it was the drivers fault. In all the news interviews, ATLAS hardly if ever made any comments about the driver or his family. That's wrong.

I was at the 38th st. Petco when it happened. It was so unbelievably loud! I remember the lights flickering and us joking about the power going go out so we could go home and then the shockwave hit and shook the whole building. The row of windows in the front of the store actually flexed in and out numerous times! Went outside and it was just the huge plume of smoke.

Amazingly, no one was killed. Three people were taken to the hospital, treated and released. The driver of the propane truck that caused the explosion is still in critial condition. No one on highway 16 was injured, which is also amazing considering how much debris flew up there and how many cars there were.
