Many people don't know that she was nastier on stage than Redd Foxx's stand up comedy. Most equate her with "Esther" on Sanford & Son- holding her bible & quoting scripture.
@gemini16th You're right , LaWands was nastier than ALL of 'em. I saw her on a bill with Rudy Ray Moore and Wildman Steve , and they were great , but pretty toned down next to LaWanda.....Their comedy was in the gutter, and Page's comedy was BELOW the gutter. People were leaving in groups of 10 and 20 ! Too funny. There'll never be another one like her.

All these people got up and ran out every time she said that. The more negative the response , the WILDER she got. But , the real people , we loved her. Her "Drawers" turned out to be giant Pee Wee Herman Y-Fronts !!!
