There is interrogating, there is torture. Torture is NOT legal. Extreme rendition is illegal, evil. Would YOU like ppl trained to torture to live in YOUR neighborhood? What kind of person can torture someone as their job? Think about that. Someone decides to torture a person. That person may be innocent. We have due process via the Constitution. Torture is NOT allowed. Do you want us to revert to the the Inquisition, no Bill of Rights, because YOU live in fear? You feel good when they torture.
George Orwell's '1984' should be mandatory reading in all US schools.
Perhaps America would then wake up to the insidious danger of facist totalitarianism imposed by ruthlessly cynical (invariably right-wing) political regimes.
The people in Bush's administration involved in interrogating terrorist should get medals not trials. I fear for the next terror attack because of the weak Obama administration. You stupid fools that decry waterboarding, search the internet for the videos of these terrorist beheading our people. Watch what real torture is. Listen to the screams before their heads are hacked off. Get real you stupid morons.
You need to get real and understand that if we implement government sanctioned torture, you have to be prepared to accept where that road could lead to. What you are currently advocating could turn around and bite you in the ass. Because if we don't speak out against this now, you may be experiencing these same kind of techniques on the domestic front in 5 to 10 years because the precedent has already been set.
As far as the videos you mention. Yes they are horrifying and I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemies dog. But should we really leave open the possibility of lowering ourselves to those standards? Think about it before you answer.

Cheney smiles. His work is done on you.
And BTW, thanks for the confession, Mr Sissy. Now we see that this is not about torturing prisoners for information as far as you're concerned. It's all about exacting revenge.
I don't know why the hell this comment is marked as spam. I also don't know why I can't unmark it. But I've been noticing a lot of this lately. If anyone could shed some light on this please let me know.
No it's not. That's why we have rules of engagement in war. We also have military tribunals. We already have rules in place that have worked fine for a couple hundred years. But now a few people would rather throw that all out and go for a much lazier approach at intelligence gathering. Torture is not effective. You beat anyone long enough and they'll tell you whatever you want to hear, whether it's true or not.
i know....but if you just beat them a little they might tell you what their next move is..i was totally against torture now i'm on the fence, after all they're trying to kill us..clearly some people crossed the line here though
If the intelligence turns out to be wrong after the fact and the person you were beating didn't actually know anything, yet you were acting on information they gave you. All of the time and manpower you spent on that suspect was counterproductive and actually did more harm than good to national security. It simply is not a reliable form of intelligence gathering. Not to mention that it is illegal.
torture = defeat, if you are investing resources and time in such a venture it shows desperation and panic. You should treat prisoners better than there own people and you will turn more of them to your cause and thus bring us closer to victory.(except in this case because you can't win a war against a tactic.)
Torture was defined by the US Congress at the time. Since we are going after administration official does that include the one's that where part of the Democratic controlled congress at the time? Why not? Maybe the names Pelosi, Reid, Boxer and Feinstein will appear? Then what?
I agree with Cheney declassify and release all the documents. Now that Tranparency I can believe in.

This has been flagged as spam show
On 9/10/01 Cheney & Bush proposed to cut U.S. Govt anti-terror funding by 50%.
On 9/12/01 they proposed to double it.
They had been made aware by the CIA of the threat posed by Al Qaeda to mainland USA on 8/6/01.
9/11 happened on their watch.
Epic Fail.

If there is one thing the Limbaugh wingnuts can't tollerate, it's to see the true facts of their failure displayed openly in a public forum.
Republicans: beyond hypocrisy, beneath contempt.

Anybody who was involved needs to be held accountable. Regardless of which political party they belong to.

Depending on how far you took that idea, we'd be low on Congressmen and out of Senators because they voted in favor of an unconstitutional invasion
which is fine, great, they knew what they were doing and they all deserve to be prosecuted... it's just that it isn't going to happen
