@otemale More than Lennon/Mccartney they were Jim McGuinn/David Crosby from the Byrds, for Hollywood's sake, they even title this "BYRDman", just look at their album cover and this video
I read yesterday that "Carnival of Light" was an experimental "Revolution 9"-esque song that Paul McCartney wrote in 1967 but didn't use. At first I figured that Ride obviously named this album after that title. However when I looked up the song on here (which doesn't exist - they're all fakes on the site) I found out that Dead Can Dance, who Ride covered, also have a song entitled "Carnival of Light."
Does anyone know if Ride stated that the title is a tribute to one or the other, or both?
Andy's playing bass in Oasis, Mark's doing solo stuff (check out his solo album...excellent!), Loz is drumming for the Jesus & Mary Chain, and Steve is...well, dunno what Steve's up to, really.
they split in 95 after mark and Andy fell out, but also because of creative hiatus brought about by frustration as power of Britpop eclipsed them after Carnival of Light album didn't do as well as it could have in 94.
One of Ride's greatest tunes, a criminally under-rated band in the end after their flurry of Beatles-like ravings when they first started out. They should reform atleast for some live performance because their best songs form an excellent tracklisting worthy of any stage.
wonderful song from my teen years...always loved these lyrics...and I adored Ride too!

How could something so epic just evaporate into nothing?

What are all the Ride songs, Andy sings?:)

Bell/Gardener were probably the Lennon/McCartney of early 90's.
Colbert and Queralt were good too , but the compositions and lyrics of the guitar duo are astonishing.

Ride's 60's/retro period. I loved it. Carnival of Light should have been a huge album.
