  • that shit got real :D epic man keep it up

  • sound !

  • what strings do you use for this??? i cant find good ones to get this tone on my guitar

  • weak execution slap those strings like a bass!

  • @CosminLupuBaritone thanx mate. I like djent! :D

  • Why are you not playing for my band :(

  • Aren't you the guy who looks into people's souls?

  • @assasinator1980 apparently, yes I am :)))

  • Sick tone, I envy you sir

  • @fude386 Thank you! :D

  • Ok I feel like a complete dumbass, but what is djent??-___- I know, try not to laugh at me too hard.

  • @TheRealAovix Djent is an invented word which describes a style of playing. Djent comes from the sound made by a power chord played in a low dropped tuning such as drop A down to drop E

  • @TheRealAovix Look up bands like Periphery, Meshuggah, and Vildhjarta. You'll figure out what Djent is.

  • @TheRealAovix DJENT is faggot teenagers who buy an 8 string and try to sound like meshuggah

  • @TheRealAovix the essence of djent is metalcore in a really low tuning lol its like a sub sub genre

  • First impressions = WOLEVERINE ... playing shity music :P after few seconds after- WOW nice grove man :D

  • @Soboliew Thanks mate!

  • what are you tuned in?

  • @Dr8co1 Drop A mate :)

  • you should totally start a djent band

  • @1991wayfarer1991 I got one already :P

  • Rock on Wolverine! \m/ (-_-) \m/

  • @LAT8194 :D thanks :P

  • Good original shit. I swear every djent band starts off the song the same damn way.

  • dudee! you gotta finish this song and sen it to me if it has a sick chores. i'll sing the shit out of it. its so awesome! im from the band Ghost of April

  • Nothing in this video was djent

  • More linear than the kind of Djent I know but its still pretty sick !

  • There's no djent in any of this. A few staccatos and bends doesn't equal a palm muted chord. Also, if you were going for the "genre" (I use that term lightly), it wasn't there. Keep writing though :)

  • Hey, I just ran in to your profile, and Im watching all your stuff right now! Not only you are a very talented musician, but you have a great sound!!!

Would you mind giving a way your secret, and telling us how are you recording this? ;)

    Thanks a lot.

  • what make of strings and what gauges do you use for this tuning?

  • @nightspotlight Hey mate, I am using Elixir baritone strings 12-68 gauge

  • @CosminLupuBaritone and what's your scale length?

  • @nightspotlight 27'' mate

  • Djent = heavily palm-muted double octave.

Example for a usual drop tuning (lowest to highest): 0-0-0-2

  • put bareknuckle aftermaths in that guitar and It will sound awesome!!!

  • @Dimitribujiashvili I was thinking about the Cold Sweat more than the Aftermath :)

  • @CosminLupuBaritone yeah.. I like that ones but I still prefer aftermaths because of its mids :))

  • Wtf why is he playing it on his right leg ?

  • @ELEMENTALW1 Umm why does it matter?

  • @ELEMENTALW1 what's wrong about that?

  • @ELEMENTALW1 Because thats how classical guitarists are taught to play.

  • @JamesHazBeHaiTyme In classical guitar the guitar is in-between the legs. :)

  • You are awesome, man!

  • @TangerineWizard123 Thanks!

  • what is jent

  • @froemoe Djent is the sound you hear when you chug on a low tuned guitar, using the low strings. It has evolved into a subgenre of metal, some may say, others would disagree :) I just used the term because I like the way it sounds :P

  • @CosminLupuBaritone Like the band Volumer - wormholes. Low drop A/B rifs mm i get it thanks !

  • Guys! Music is music :) why do we have to argue about it?

  • Sounds like older Sybreed

  • sick riffs, but wouldnt call it djent

  • @shredmeister13 Thanks mate!

  • lol i love how i opened the website he gives in the description and another vid pooped up of someguys playibng a solo thing and it flowed xD

  • @mask8412 :D hehe!

  • Hey nice man, I already subscribed! Take some time to check my channel! Cheers!

  • @Torqueofficial thanks mate! I subbed too :D

  • This isn't Metal! Metal is a hard substance! I am tired of the "Djent: Genre vs. Technique" wars. It's a word. Like many words it can change meaning with the culture. Just like rock and metal.

  • more like thissss!!!!!!

  • @NJhardcore21 There will be! Thanks!

  • What kind of guitar is this. The bare wood body is fawkin sexy!

  • @SHAZZAM1221 :D thanks! It's an Ibanez MMM mike Mushok signature baritone

  • Hey man, could you tell me how you run all of this into your computer? Line in? USB? Mic your amp? and do you use any software? Cheers bud =]

  • WHERE CAN I HEAR MORE OF YOUR BAND??! ARRRRRGH!!!!!

  • how do you make your drums?

  • Dude this is groovey man :P I've got a Djent original on my youtube called "Emerse", check it out if you can, and anyone else who sees this comment, thank you :)

  • Another "Djent" video without djent in it.. What a surprise.

    Cool song, though!

  • @Thrashman1990 Do you know what djent is and means?

    This is pretty djenty mate.

  • @SocialOutsider

i play progressive metal/ hardcore, i'm not too familiar with djent though. i listen to a lot of circle of contempt, and a few other bands though. What is Djent genre/ style?

  • @GuessMyUsernameYT It's a pretty broad term mate, it's a guitar tone, a style of metal, it's a lot of things. It' sort of trendy right now.

If you wanna know what djent is go to the got-djent site.

  • @SocialOutsider Yes, I am very aware of what dient is - and this is not djent.

  • @Thrashman1990 And why is it not djent? His guitar tone is djenty. Therefore this can be called djent.

  • @SocialOutsider No. Djent is a technique. Look at my video called "Djent Tutorial 2.0" for reference.

  • @Thrashman1990 I know what Djent is mate, I've been listening to the stuff for years now. It's more than technique.

  • @SocialOutsiderJeebus. I have no more intentions of cluttering this comment section so I'll just leave you to thinking whatever makes you happy. Why? Well, you apparently don't know the small pet-peeves that separates djent from progressive metal.

  • @SocialOutsider Clearly, your an idiot.

Djent is a technique used within a certain tone. High mids specifically.

The technique labeled as 'Djent' is not used in this video.

    Djent is not a genre.

    Cry about it.

  • @Genoc1deP7 "your an idiot." Stopped reading there. You're an idiot, who clearly can't use 2nd grade grammar.

  • what tipe of strings do u use?

  • love your vids man its nice to see really tight, clean playing keep it up!!

  • what tunin did you use?

  • @undercoverdude87 Hey mate it's Drop A - (A E A D F# B)

  • @CosminLupuBaritone well great job, but can you tell me why the 2th string is F# and not just G?

  • @CosminLupuBaritone how if it's a 6string? coz as far as i heard you can only drop a in 7 string?

  • @PoeperstamP No you can with a 6 string too man, just need to get it set up right and have heavy strings on it. You could even go drop F if you wanted, of course if you have your 6-String set up like this you can only tune in low tuning.

  • long hair = badass look

  • @MySourDiesel Haha thanks :D

  • what is the website for your band?

  • @TheBassistSOTD hey man! The website is not ready yet! But in the mean time, check out my soundcloud profile where you will find one of our songs, called Meta. Soundcloud . com / cosmin-lupu

  • where's the djent?

  • OSOM!!!! \m/ SUB!!!! Dude put a full song!! These riffs are sick!!! \m/ I want to hear some more of this!! \m/

  • @augas I will most likely post the whole song :)

  • have you ever thought of a septum piercing? it would look good on you xD

  • @SmashedSkullOfficial :)) honestly, yes I did :))

  • First Djent band in Romania?! Fuck Yeah!!!

  • @TOOLosophy not entirely djent but with a lot of influences :P stay tuned :D

  • @CosminLupuBaritone that was my exact thought then i scrolled down and looked at the comments

  • Sounds great, dude! Your playing rocks! Congrats!

  • @crisgarciabaron Thanks man!

  • What kind of pickups are in your Ibanez?

  • @roelofwagner92 Hey there :) these are the stock pickups! But for this guitar I would recommend the Bareknuckle cold sweat set!

  • the genre commonly referred to as djent is just a sub-genre of progressive metal. although this has some slight technical aspects and is melodic, unless you tune down no one is really going to welcome these riffs. and if you aren't gonna drop tune, check out Cloudkicker. he tunes no lower than drop B, but the technicality, song structure, and use of guitar layering are what make his music progressive or 'djent'. i fucking hate that word.

  • Reminds me of Longbowman Salute's djent

  • sweet.

  • what did you use for your tone here sounds great!!!

  • @TechcoreIsSexy Hey man! It's been recorded with a POD Farm :) and this Ibanez MMM here.

  • Hey what is the tuning of the guitar for this song...i really like the 6th string's deep and clear bass.. how can you make the 6string sound like that..I dropped mine to B and it sounded horrible,, i use a 8 gauge string with EMG 81

  • @Sabdeth Mate, this is a baritone guitar - it has a long scale neck and it's meant to sound clean and defined in low tunings. What kind of a guitar do you use?

  • @CosminLupuBaritone I have a BC Rich KKV2 Premium and Jackson DX10D Dinky...i tried to lower the 6th string in the KKV2 and have not tried it on the Dinky

  • @Sabdeth Hey, this may help. Try using a higher gauge string set. I use 9-52 for Drop C on my jackson and it sounds good. EMG's aren't my thing but everyone has their own preferences :) If you have a good effects loop set up and a decent rig they sound damn fine. Baritone guitars are mainly used for lower drop tunings, as CLB said it's more defined in tone because of the longer neck length. Try thicker strings :)

  • @SydDante Thanks man...I knew something was wrong with my strings...I will try thicker strings...

  • @Sabdeth No problem :) For drop tunings you will need thicker string gauges, the lower the tuning the string gauge should match accordingly / or to what you feel comfortable with. If you have a Floyd Bridge, change the strings one by one if you can. Taking all the strings off makes the floyd dip right back into the body making it a little difficult to re-string!

  • @SydDante .On the BC Rich...I have Kahler Premium Bridge and on the Dinky i have a floyd rose..cant decide which guitar should i use? I think the BC rich has a long neck, right?

  • @Sabdeth You need thicker strings dude. an 8 is way to light for heavy drop tunings. For instance, my 6 string is in drop g# and my gauge is .62 - .11. You'd also need to get up your guitar with that string set to not screw up your neck.

  • @guitarman812 thanks man..i will try the gauge you have without f***kin my neck ....

  • Your skill grows with your hair man :) Btw djent has more punchy/brutal feel into it IMO.

  • @MegaptereMetal Thanks man! : ) it depends, well, now that you mention it, I could come up with something more brutal at some point :D

  • @CosminLupuBaritone : It may also be the mix or just hitting the strings harder, cause the riff you play at 0:25 is nice, and your tone seems clear and not scooped. There's usually a lot lot of mids in djent tones..

  • What Ibanez is that? I have a SZ320. What is the model of the guitar?

  • @elliumeffect Hey mate! It's an Ibanez MMM the Mike Mushok signature baritone. It's not made anymore unfortunately.

  • @CosminLupuBaritone Oh! I see: BARITONE. It is a great guitar. It looks just like mine, but ain't the same one!

  • @elliumeffect It resembles the Sz a bit indeed : )

  • Oh Cosmin....you are so awesome!!

  • mega like!!!

  • Very nice!! Your tone is great too!

  • Great as usual!

  • @eimitfiertep multzumesc Mr. P! ; )

  • djent ? :d

  • nice playing dude. Cool riff too.

  • @DayDreamProductions2 thanks mate ; )
