  • the music is very distracting... but an exellent sermon

  • I really like this sermon, But I really hate the music. I think words should not be dress up with music to make it more noticible or more hearable. Or to get or grab more attention.I like it being directly and as it is. But about this passage, I agree with it, church is more of a request these day, Would you come to church? Do want to do this? It should be more like, REPENT, or go to hell. The truth directly and straight forward. The coming of the kingdom. What John preach.

  • @CEOcutter I used to think that way too, but I've come to realize that even though it seems like an attempt to sugar-coat words that should be effective by themselves (and really that's what it is), even still, music is just as much a tool to reach the heart as words. Personally, I am a music person, so I am greatly affected by music, so when I hear a sermon with music like this, the sermon sticks more, and it affects my heart more. I know it seems like an attempt to sugar-coat words, but (cont)

  • @yamo25000

Repent then. Music don't preach you the truth, words does. Jesus didn't try to addapt to peoples culture or dress up nicely to make him look more popular. I mean to have word more effective by using music, I dont' think that right. It leave the truth to no effect with music, that seem like what your saying.

  • @CEOcutter Music doesn't preach truth, you're right about that, but music strengthens words is what I'm saying. But if you think it's wrong, that's cool. Personal conviction overrides innocence.

  • @yamo25000

I don't hate music, the bible did mention worshiping the lord, praising him with instrument. All scripture came from the lord himself. Repent or perish, ect. So by music strenghting the word, say you were there 2000 year ago when he was giving the sermon on the mount. He's preaching, and you're saying lord, your word is not enough, add music to it.? If he was here right now preaching to us, we wouldn't have to read scripture. But you say music strenghting words, HIS WORD. You see?

  • @CEOcutter Exactly. Music strengthens words, even God's word, but, that doesn't mean that God's word isn't enough by itself. It is, but still stronger with music.

  • @yamo25000

You don't get it. God words does not need to be strengthens, or add be stronger. It is the truth, accept it or denied it, you do not prep the words to make it more suitable otherwise it wouldn't be the words at all.

  • @CEOcutter No one is trying to make the words more "suitable" it is simply presenting it in a different way which may resonate with people. It is no different that watching a Christian movie or listening to Christian music. You are receiving the truth in a different way which might strike a different chord with you.

  • @websterniemi

Same thing, resonate and suitable. Same thing, I mean worshiping with music or celebrating and giving thank, that okay. But preaching truth is just preaching truth. You cannot preach the truth a different ways, you must preach it the same way as all the other great man of the bible preach. John repent, Jesus repent, Peter repent. Do you see the similarity. You do not try to strike different chord, they all strike the same chord, the soul. The sword that pierce the soul.

  • @CEOcutter We disagree. I also think the pictures do an additionally good job of conveying the message. This a fantastic way to capitalize on the means of spreading truth. I don't believe it replaces a Sunday morning sermon at church, but I enjoy it as much as I would a Christian music video or movie.

  • @CEOcutter it really does make a message more effective.

  • @yamo25000

That why it a bad thing. So take away the music, that'll leave you with uneffective words.

  • Ouch

  • GOD HELP THE PEOPLE DO NOT BE SHAMED OF THE GOSPEL. GOD BLESS YOU PIPER.

  • its exactly how i feel

  • Great words of Pastor Piper but the background music is TOO LOUD. Please...

  • I love these kind of clips of sermons and I have no real problem with backing music, but honestly must it always be so much louder and distracting than the actual person speaking?

  • Dr Pips what a star! making us see Christ! Legend

  • Why is Pope Benedict shown in 4:20 that says "Others are wrong."???

  • @aiazthea01 Could that be because the gospel of Rome is not the Gospel at all but only its damning counterfeit?

  • @MilhamaH777 Tsk2. We share the same gospel.

  • @aiazthea01 NOPE, we do not assuming you are a Roman Catholic... In the Gospel of the Lord of Glory the Grace of God is SUFFICIENT. In the Gospel of Rome the Grace presented as of God is NECESSARY... Now you think what this means and this is verifiable by the Bible and the documents of Rome.

  • Bloodair and Sistair, Jesus 4 life.

  • July 7, 09 the Piltdown Pope personally delivered an ecclesiastic letter to the G8 Conference directing they gather the Nations of the earth & appoint a single moral authority as dictator (Anti-Christ). Press opted to cover M Jackson funeral. Vatican affirmation of evolution, heralded as an outward invitation to heal the division, is a twisted EVIL DENUNCIATION OF GOD & THE HOLY BIBLE. Satanists/Atheists received invitation to the Catholic(obtuse Christianity)Church, they can't refuse.

  • Ephesians 6:12- "For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places."

  • 3 people have never looked through the window of a true Bible believing person who goes out to preach and share with others the Gospel.
