We don't use any skulls in this kill - opting instead to only use three of the four tomes. Our breakthrough came when we tried reflecting Hideous Blast instead of interrupting it.

If this is reflected and not interrupted it deals damage to Matron as well as applying a stacking debuff to her that increases damage she takes by 3%. We use a rotation of 3 Mages to reflect each cast.

I'm playing basically blind due to a display bug after I get rezzed but thankfully, for whatever reason, the video came out fine (except for my time spent on the stairs, doing nothing, while frantically telling Vent that I can't see)
