If you cut the funds it doesn't mean the troops will come back, it means they'll have no funds yet be used as political tools.. in other words the Dems would lose the next election and possibly more. It would ruin your Liberal chances of getting a Democrat as sitting president.

The questioner doesn't seem to understand that "the power of the purse" option will not only be extremely difficult to pass, but it has no bearing on current war appropriations which have already been funded over $200 billion. Until that existing money is spend (which shouldn't take long since Halliburton is on the job), Bush doesn't need to ask for or abide by an new funding stipulations. The damage has already been done under the previous Republican leadership.
