Exactly!. However... people shouldn't step out of trains on Judah line or any line, without looking if there is a car that may kill them if they step out without looking.
00:38 If you stop behind that Muni, you'll be stopped in an intersection. And 1:03, how do you stop behind a street car if you were never behind it to begin with? If you're driving abreast of a street car, and it stops, do you put your car in reverse?
@bluemoonseller : Because sliding doors are superior for entry and exit, that's why vans also have them. How many trains have doors which open like car doors?
oh in Phoenix Arizona we had a chevy express van cut in front of the phoenix lightrail and the guy went on the track and got ran over by the light rail train and the van was cripled. and we have signs says no driving on tracks,
@sideslide23 Better yet someone did the same thing in that same spot at the beginning of the video but there was a train coming the other way too so she was hit by two trains.
Seriously though you should also show the numbers of cars driving down that very stretch of Judah on the raised concrete rail lane. Also please show all the cars which cross Judah illegally at 15th avenue. Even though there are signs instructing drivers to turn they just drive over the raised concrete section and cross Judah.
The street cars also frequently speed eastbound through that section creating excessive noise.
What about having LARGE stop signs that come out when the train stops like on school buses? I had no idea that I had to stop for a MUNI train like that, and I hope nobody gets hurt. Very large signs telling people to stop help a lot more than tiny bumper stickers. Thanks for informing me Stanley, I appreciate it (and so do the MUNI riders!)
At 1:03 at least they stopped ....not like the kept going!!

Do you really expect peeps to see that tiny sticker on the back of the train?

@rich0319726 Not really but there are big ass signs up and down the street. Then again many people can't read to well either.

1:02 what if you're already driving next to the train when it comes to a complete stop? I assume you'll just have to stop next to it then.

Poor designs on the muni trains... why are doors opened sideways??????
bluemoonseller 1 year ago
@bluemoonseller If you ever go into the stations under and look closely at the bottom of the door, thats why

Perhaps exiting the train with a 2x4 would help!

This is a lot going on. Like another poster said, stop signs like those on school buses should come out of the side of the train.

Why did I think of that Enya song "Trains and Winter Rains" when I saw the title?

They DESPERATELY need school-bus-esque signs on there--the vast majority of people here genuinely do not know it is the law.

the passenger door on the truck is open for a maneuver called tuck and roll.

I bet people that actually do stop, get honked at by people behind them to accelerate even if you aren't suppose to.
