When you are tying a bow for bootlace (whether Ian knot or traditonal), you want to pay attention to which loop crosses on top, and which loop goes underneath.
Your demonstration has you tying at least two granny knots, as well as one proper square knot. A tied square knot bow will lie across your boot, and the granny will want to align itself from ankle to toe.
Remember, "Left over right and under, then right over left and under". Teach your children well.
