@magodeozzfest Acá en YT encuentras colgado todo Akira (1988), el largometraje animado que fue además el debut como director de Katsuhiro Otomo. Ese animé es la adaptación de su exitosísimo manga "Akira" que se publicó de 1982 a 1990 (!!) en Japón. Otro animé famoso de su autoría es Steamboy (2004). Ambos son estupendos pero Akira es esencial: The Matrix de los hnos. Wachowski no se explicaría sin ella.

what do books have to do with it? Anime is a visual medium, meaning that a proper blending of visuals and story is extremely important. To just say that the story is good doesn't just excuse the awkward artwork, and whether or not I read has nothing to do with that.

it's digitally cel-shaded, but, in my opinion it looks very ugly... in traditional cel graphic you do the animation part frame by frame. Mr. Otomo now uses this technique: he does the animation part with digital dummies in 3dand then cel-shade it: that's a shortcut... the characters are over-animated and have a robotic unnatural unrealistic movement... you must check every single frame and don't let the computer do the work for you... Akira was great, this is rubbish!!!

@magodeozzfest El gran atractivo es que la historia y el diseño de personajes es de Katsuhiro Otomo, el creador de Akira (manga y animé).

I gotta say that your opinion isn't too far from mine. This cel-shaded style is great for games, but for actual anime it just looks awkward.
