  • There had to have been a cover up. With the car chase, the 911 calls, it HAD to be murder

  • well raised, but may be daddy forgot to tell him how dangerous snitchin really is.

  • police cover-up.they ll never know.

  • Having seen so many uns myst episodes, this one belong to the one's that stick. How sad, tragic and makes me angry, think of that calling 911 and no one is dispatched to help, the whole management at the police must be in on it.

    Compassion for his family.

  • The position in which he was found is so weird and definitely looks staged

  • This seems to me to be either an intentional cover up by the cops, or it's extreme negligence (if the details of this case are as this episode presents it).

  • Cover up.

  • I have one huge problem here. One side says he was killed by a bullet to the head, the other side says he was killed by a baseball bat. I dont care how well concealed the bruising is, ultimately those are so significantly different that any autopsy should've revealed something. IE a single bullet fired into the head likely wont cause broken arms or legs. Considering that difference, I can conclude that someone is completly ignoring the autopsy...question is...who?

  • Tommy Burkett did NOT kill himself. Alot of people know who did it, but theyre not saying anything. Shady law enforcement!

  • @hierkittykitty must remember back in the late 80's early 90's no one called the police especially over a car chase

  • If Tommy had an IPhone, he would have called the police while he was running or driving from the chase, and thus would not have to drive home to dial 911, and police would have been much more responsive.

Of course, I know this was 1991 when cell phones were in its infancy but we should remind ourselves, especially those who were born after that event, we should not take them FORGRANTED!

  • At the Time and Year...Not even Police Personal receive their paychecks in the mail.. !!!

  • After the parents tampered with the crime scene evidence, before an investigation by the police , they shouldnt expect great results...

  • he has a broken jaw and that is not credible information that he did not kill himself? A small town dog catcher could do a better job than this cop!

  • why can't we get this checked out by the federal government? Isnt that the fucking reason we have a federal government for checks on local authorities?

  • whoa, dude looked like a young eddie van halen

  • really sad..... it sounds like parents are right and he was murdered.i hope one day they find them

  • The officer is hiding something, his eyes give him away

  • This case was eventually re opened as a homicide.

Dr Beyer, aka 'Dr Suicide', who worked on this case had been known for ignoring evidence, he once even stated that a man who had been beheaded died of natural causes.

In another case involving Tim Easley he said he stabbed himself in the chest even though the victim had defensive wounds on his hands.

  • Hey does anyone know when did show air on tv?

  • Revolver found with open breech, no tissue of any kind on the bullet that supposedly passed through his brain, unusual blood pattern, car chase through the hood, drivers licence after death, 911 operator with very odd behavior.....

So sad that this happened at a time when forensic testing was in its early days. In these times DNA, blood matching, blood splatter profiling would have solved this in a lab.

  • Ugh, that student so did it. Fucking man boy punks.

  • his mom seems very laid back, almost as if she's steadily high on valium

  • his mom seems very laid back, almost as if she's steadily high on valium

  • drugs

  • stupid spokeperson, 'credible' must mean a confession or video tape of the murder

  • Sounds like the law enforcement is completely incompetent.

  • evil motherfuckers

  • Did he really shot himself or did someone shot him and put the gun in his hands? I think the later is more of a possibility. Also, I think the police and DEA are involved in his death as well

  • Something is fishy about this case. He most likely did not commit suicde. Too many questions

  • murder is a terrible crime, people can be so stupid

  • That spokesman is so full of you know what.

  • DEA informant? Seems a bit of a outlandish theory in my opinion. However I don't think he killed himself.

  • So wait, all murders are suicides unless deemed otherwise? That's what it sounds like this cop is saying.

  • The part about the complaints I never understood. Complaints against who? or What? That part I don't get. This case is up there with the Russell Evans case on just plain horrible police work.

  • Look at the cop guy's eye contact!! He looks down after every statement!!

  • @akuma4u You're 100% right. One of the ways to tell if a person is lying is if they say "um" a lot (as that guy did) or if they avoid eye contact when talking to somebody. He's lying out his ass. Dirty cops make me sick. THEY are the reason why a lot of people don't trust or don't like cops.

  • If Tommy's parents are telling the truth, then I think this was a murder covered up by the police, in which case nobody will be charged and it will always be considered a suicide. Of course the DEA would deny it if he was in fact an informant; it could hinder any investigation they had going on. Either way, it's a very sad situation and his family deserves closure.

  • every time that representative for the cops talks, at the end of his speech, his eyes look down, he looks so guilty like he is hiding the truth..

  • @akuma4u I was *just* about to say that. Guilty as sin!!

  • Drugs... this is still scary though..

  • so no updates? What happened to the parents? If the FBI dug deeper they must have found something! So the first investigator who have them the cremation note, was probably involved with the drug dealers. How did all of these things occur and nobody took the initiative to speak out before they were asked? even with the mother in the beginning when she was approached. This is horrific.

  • @isnook86 it was likely he couldve been a DEA informant after being caught dealing drugs.

  • His parents are dead? Wtf? That's young.

  • That officer looks like he's hiding something.

  • @economistman Now thats a very serious accusation.

  • @economistman u can NEVER truly trust the police

  • of course this wasn't a suicide. Car chase through neighborhood, strange kid has his driver's license, 911 operator who has no interest says that he called "twice" and filed a complaint, then turns around and completely changes her story when she talks to a supervisor. Kids threaten to beat him up and he says he's worried that they've gone through his mail and found out what he does, i.e., the paid check from police for being informat. It's so scary that things can be covered up like this.

  • @economistman You actually dont believe paychecks were sent in the mail during that era...do you?

  • @economistman lmao....you fall into the normal human catagory of not letting go....

  • I don't see how it would be a suicide. There is just too much evidence to the contrary. I suspect the police department of negligence at the very least.

  • Such a sad story. How can people be so evil? If I were the parents, I wouldn't be able to go into his room, it would be too painful.

I'm surprised this case hasn't been solved. They even had names of suspects and everything sort of adds up. What's missing?? It doesn't seem like one of the most difficult cases to solve. Something seems suspicious to me. Another question, why does the detective seem so ill at ease when being interviewed?

  • Is the actor playing Tommy the guy who played Berger on Sex and the City? lol

  • @snowwpea i find no evadence of this. lets keep things on the subject please. GOD bless.

  • @scvbtr2 So sorry to have veered off topic, I hope it had no negative effect on your well being!!... GOD BLESS

  • @snowwpea Idon't remember typing any of this. People have a right to say what they want. My apoligies. GOD bless.

  • @scvbtr2 You'r right, people have a right to say anything they want. Which means I also have the right to ask a question without being told to stay on topic.

    Have a nice day!

  • "It looks like scattered, faint blood stains."

    Really Unsolved Mysteries?

This case is very sad though. I keep hoping to see an update.

  • No way that was a suicide. Doesn't add up. May they rest in peace.

  • Poor mom and dad

  • any updates

  • @b1naryd1g1t5 What evidence leads you to believe that it was actually a suicide? If everything that was seen and discovered by Burketts parents is true, it seems to be overwhelming evidence that there is a coverup involved. And it seems like there is possible motive for the coverup as well with regards to law enforcement.

  • @b1naryd1g1t5 LOL, really? Huh, maybe I don't know - but without the police doing ANY investigation (car chase, fingerprints, trace on gun, blood on wall, 9/11 calls, previous complaints, bruises, defensive wounds, previous attacks, ID missing) we will never know.

  • @b1naryd1g1t5 What? You think it was a suicide? Really?? Broken jaw, car chase, no real serious police investigation.... the blood. Obviously not a suicide

  • @dowder6 A beating doesnt = murder. The guy was clearly bullied by these guys. They find him, he gets in his car and drives to the only safe place he knows...home. They chase him. As he gets out they beat him up, take his glasses and drivers license to taunt him but they dont kill him. When home his depressed about the whole event, is tired of getting bullied and decides to take his own life. The strange handwriting and driving is explainable if he was dizzy from the beating or lack of glasses.

  • @b1naryd1g1t5 They're both dead? Wtf? They couldn't have been older than 50 in this video... How do you know they are dead?

  • @b1naryd1g1t5 what did his parents die from?

  • @b1naryd1g1t5 are u for real? even after all the evidence, car chase, the way he was positioned, broken jaw, bruises on ear, blood stains on downstairs walls, issues with kids from school, you still think its a suicide? i must ask you, WHY do you think its a suicide?

  • @b1naryd1g1t5 Why was this given so many neg votes. dosn't make since.

  • @b1naryd1g1t5 Just wondering, how do you know what happend to his parents?-

  • sad

  • @b1naryd1g1t5 When did his parents die? What year?

  • @braze2006 I agree.... I'd love to know if there is an update to this story...
