Bravo Sir. I am paraplegic (34yrs) and I must say I am impressed. I really do not think it is totally safe - but if you do and can do it safely then right on. sincerely, JAMES.
Well how many of we all do empty our own gutterings (gullies); isn't it best left to some skilled individual in the roofing business?
.
It would be better to train for the Olympic games in London, at some recognised sublime activity; then it is public and we can all cheer at ones acheivement.
haah yeah! you have an excellent point! although i'm sick of people saying "you're gonna be the next tammy-grey thompson!" i don't wanna be! What's up with wanting to be an actress?
The thing is, I don't wanna be "nothing" I wanna be something! I still have a life since my accident. Never been sporty but as soon as i started to get up and about All's i'd get would be: "oo you need to get into sport!"
I don't wanna be a flaming sports star! ok I'll admit i go to gym and do wheelchair racing but that's to keep fit! I still wanna achieve my dream of being a writer/actress, not what everyone wants me to be!
you're right to, there's nothing wrong with just being you!
i disagree with EK192 oit doesn't matter about your mobility, idf your a para you can still get pressure sores! although the more healthier you are the less likely you are to get em!
Guys llike him wont get a pressure sore - the other guy will though. Given his mobility any injuries will heal rapidly because there will be good blood flow.
Its a great saying at the end and he shows the benefit of fitness in a paraplegic.
this is awsome, i am going to shingle my house when i get older, i totally understand how u got up there to! i was thinking of ways how i could get onto my roof!
You are right. While this is great and shows everyone the possibilities yet you have to b carefull not to get pressure sores. it can set u back months/years.
Oh to be a young para again! Rod is a very industrious (dare I say "super gimp"?) man who I suspect has never had a pressure sore. While being independent is really, really great, transfers like this will eventually lead to a pressure sore. You simply can't plop your buttocks down like this over and over again without damage. Keep on transferrin' Rod, but please be aware of this!
i am a t-3 so i dont have much upper body use but i think that is the coolest thing ive seen since my crash on 12/24/05,my wife left me and took the kids so i am gald to see that he still has his family.just really great to see that,i am still at the i dont what to live stange so that is really up lifting thank you

Ah Ha! I always tried to go down the front of a ladder and my legs tangle in the rungs. Next time I'm coming off the roof I'll go underside.

Awesome job!I use a wheelchair off and on due to a worsening disability so I'm learning how much you have to use your arms.

I can walk normally, but I can't climbe a ledder as fast as you.

People in a wheelchair use arms a lot more than normal people with no problems, which makes you work your arms more making them stronger.

Yes you're right -your absolutely right; there is in fact nothing wrong with doing nothing even; or being nothing.
.
Only problem might be an external validation of the new claimed status; would require interaction with the Other.
.
Same with folk in wheelchairs or with one less limb etc., how to do/be something ... should exist in the present suffice! (?)
.
Cheers.

Oh! Hello,
I did not realise that the reply was from yourself being also who featured in the video; I too have a second name at You-Tube.
I had to retire in 1983, and so have had since then, plenty of time to develop a new self to represent the true me to the world.
Good luck in your proposed writing/actor role.
Cheers.
