@creative11019 ..well I guess macs can have the video card upgraded now...Macs are PCs after all...Though you can't say either OS has better graphics its the hardware that controls that. Windows is more of a business type OS yet the best OS choice for gaming. Mac is user friendly and slightly over-rated you can do all the same stuff in windows its all software preference. Linux is best for coders and the people who want your data. oh and Macs are not immune to malware or hacking. Linux ftw
@creative11019 Okay "for" graphics...then it is all personal taste because you can get windows and OS X to get the job done. hell you can even use Linux....just depends on the flavor of linux you use.
omg look at him! he looks like a very nice guy, is very rassuring and funny. no wonder he managed to hack and social engineer all of those companies using trust, human's greatsest weakness.
It seems plausible that all of the "exploits" of Kevin D. Mitnick were perpetrated by and/or for Israel. He did break the law And openly admits to using Fake Names, Fake college diplomas, Working for israel, And had the backing of 2600 a front for the ADL a rothchild owned company to free him for jail with free mitnick campange which is total GARBAGE he never served time in jail don't trust this man.
He's not talking about running a website on a windows machine, he's talking about a vulnerability in his web page scripts I believe, as its much harder to patch windows binaries without having access to the source code.
I have a godaddy VPS, they give you complete access to a virtual linux server, I pay about 30 dollars a month for it, even can run othere kinds of servers like game and voip servers on the VPS.
Even cooler is the ability to associate multiple domains with the same server.
I mean multiple domains each with its own document root, on the same server.. That means insted of buying 20 websites from someone, I can pay 30 dollars a month for one VPS at godaddy, and purchase the 20 domain names (about 160 dollars yearly fee if you buy your domains from godaddy). Then assign each domain to a separate account on the VPS.. 30 dollars a month for 20 websites. But there is no limit to the number of websites. BTW, my bandwidth limit is about 500GB month.
Also there is no way in a windows webserver to hide scripts.. And most windows webservers and webhosting companies are such dumbasses that they think security means not offering secure shell access to your account. In fact this is what I look for in a good hosting service, and why I hate Windows web servers, is no shell access.. If you run a website on php, don't be a dumb fuck, don't use Windows to host it, use linux and apache.
Also windows web hosts tend to charge more. Get a godaddy vps.
Windows based webservers (I mean IIS) normally don't offer a folder above the document root, and doesn't offer permissions for scripts on the site, at least this is the case for PHP on IIS. But apache and linux offers user level unix permissions control using ftp programs. So you can't say include a script unavailable to the web user that is included in a script that can access the folder above document root. The problem with this is, if for any reason php is off, the script is exposed.
Linux Distro's have their fair share of holes as well, so does Apple's Operating System, the difference being Microsoft is the biggest target. Hackers know that the general population use Windows XP, so that's what they will go after. If Mac OS X overcomes XP, then it will be the #1 target. As for Linux, it has many holes, but as holes are exploited, they are being patched. There are updates every time you boot up, whereas Microsoft releases in 2 week intervals I think.
Ubuntu runs horrible on my laptop because of my ATI X1150 graphics card in my Inspiron 1501. And it runs very slow on my Dimension 2400. I prefer XP over any other OS just for the speed and compatibility with everything.
ooh i tried ubuntu, i don't like a lot i don't know. in my laptop i have any problem i have Lenovo R61i. and also i have desktop with hight graphic card the nVidia 8800 Ultra. no problem anything working fine.... forget about xp bro it's boring
Ubuntu is the most popular Linux distro. Never tried Fedora but still, XP is the best OS out there for daily usage in terms of speed and compatibility.
you are wrong bro. don't talk about compatibility of Microsoft. what if you delete something from Registry, and your computer can't run normaly what would u do. so if you run Linux and you delete from registry, u can get the file and rune normaly. kapish? :D
The registry may be one of the reasons why people dis Windows, but does the registry slow the OS down like many people think? No. Why delete random values anyways? And as for if you did delete the registry or something from it, you can boot into a Windows disk and run a repair, same with Ubuntu, only you manually copy system files from the boot disk. Worst comes to worst, boot into Ubuntu off a partition or live disk and back up your data then reformat. XP just works and that's all I need.
Ubuntu 8.04 comes out in like 13 days, I might try it in a VM but I'll wait like until at least 2010 or 2012 before I install Ubuntu as my main OS where the drivers & hardware work as flawlessly as XP in my situation. As for Fedora, just don't feel like using it when Ubuntu is more popular.
