If you're watching a film in PAL format (i.e. the UK version of it) the songs will sound higher pitched because the play speed is 4% faster than the actual film format. People's voices sound higher too.
I don't where else to ask this: whenever I hear this track played in 'School of Rock' it sounds slightly higher pitched and a little bit faster than when I hear it hear or on my ipod. Its not the first time that I've observed that with recordings heard in films (I have noticed it with Blue Oyster Cult's 'Don't Fear the Reaper' in 'Halloween'). Am I imagining things, or do recordings really play faster (and thus higher) on film, and if so, why?
@Potionette81 I guess they might speed the songs up so they can get more of the song in but it doesn't take up as much time? I'm not sure, I've no idea why they'd make the pitch higher either. Maybe to make you notice it? Or maybe because they just think it sounds better?
Can you guys stop turning this ino a fuck modern music thing? Beacuse I know this type of music is strong enough to stand on its own, without other people needing to insult other music to make this seem better. You can say this is good without saying other stuff is shit.
@zeldamakesmylife Who needs Kesha in the first place? Even if there wasn't a Stevie and other 80's bands and mucians(and god knows how horrible it would be) I still wouldn't except Kesha as a musician. There are artists, and there are entertainers, It's sad that now entertainers are more popular than artists :(
@TroubleinBellaDonna it was so good, i didn't want to get up this morning! so i forced myself out of bed, turned on tango in the night, and went to college!
you have no idea how long it took me to find this song. i heard it on a video game and i fell in love with this song. then i heard it again at a party, then i was listening to the radio one day and they played this song and finally after 2 years i find this song!
@GoldenHoofStudios I didn't say that Stevie had copied Survivor. I said that the intro of Edge Of Seventeen sounds like the intro of Edge Of Seventeen. Stevie didn't copy anyone.
@TroubleinBellaDonna No, okay? Surivor copied Edge of Seventeen so much it's not even funny. So, don't correct people when you have no idea what you're talking about. Edge of Seventeen came out in 1982 and Eye of the Tiger was in 1986 or '89.
@daggy589 Its true that DC copied, but Stevie copied The Police song "Bring on the Night" for the riff. Waddy Wachtel, who played guitar on 'Edge,' admitted they copied the Police. So neither DC nor Stevie was original.
@Dreamz19 I listened to the album Reggatta de Blanc many many times when I was a teenager and Bring On The Night is my favourite song of this album. And in my opinion Stevie didn't copy anything. The riffs are obviously different.
@plattawabbe LOL. They sampled this song. They even had Stevie make an appearance in the video for Bootylicious. She's the one playing the guitar in the beginning.
This is for the generation that doesn't know the original, better, version of this song from the 80s. The original is so great, that with the lack of new good music nowadays, some low-class singer tried to redo it but failed miserably. Long live the classics.
oh, sorry. i didnt mean you. i meant that toward the other person using nothing but explitives instead of the human language. i'm sure thats all they know :( sad
@littleluluscraps That was me, lol, I apologize to you and anyone else that has to see my rant. Much like Fleetwood Mac, Joan Biaz, Jimmy Hendrix, Joe Walsh, Jefferson Airplane, ect... Real rap music carries passion and a story from the heart and sole, It's not just a bunch of words thrown together that rhyme to make a song.
@littleluluscraps Stevie has nothing to do with rap, I love Stevie, Just had to defend myself... I won't back down from someone elses stupid comment aimed towards me about rap just because it's on a Stevie video.

@FritzTheCat420 Stevie Nicks is great But u need to shut up and go listen to some Wayne. Talkin about u like rap but not Lil Wayne then U dont know rap music

@ChronosWar, Thank you, I'm glad someone can appreciate my ranting and arguing for what it is. Also, Fritz is my favorite cartoon character of all time and always will be. Even though a majority of people my age don't seem to know who he is, lol.
I realized when my daughter was about 4 that she didn't quite have the words down to this song. She was singing ever so sweetly from her carseat, "Just like the water wing duck..."
@LHcountryboy1 ..She ain't so lil' now.....she's 21 today! She did learn to sing the words Stevie sings and just about broke my heart. It was so cute the other way: )
@heyitsme042010 Haha my parents used to play this song for me all the time too as a child. I used to think it was "just like the wild wind blows, sings a song sounds like shes singing" Me and my sister would sing it at the top of our lungs lol.
@Bainer55 Sounds like you have wonderful parents who raised you right:D I bet you and your sister were cute running around singing those words with all your hearts!
The beginning is Edge of Seventeen by Stevie Nicks. Destiny's Child only sampled some of the beginning of this song for their song Bootylicious. get your facts straight.
