Also I'm willing to address a serious mistake Microsoft made with it's 'superior' security in Vista. Because all that security is reduced to millions of regular confirmation screens "Do you really want to do this or that?". Do you really think this should stop user from doing particular operation? It's a fact that it gets very annoying and useless (not to mention the fact that these confirmation prompts can be disabled).

I never heard Microsoft or any OS claim complete 'superiority' of their security. All OS's will always have a vulnerability to worry about if they're connected to the internet.

And UAC is only really annoying the first few days as you're settling into Windows, installing new programs and stuff. It's not like it asks to confirm everything. :)

I have on mine PC Vista HP x64-and only problem I have is some software in x86 architecture. On my 2nd PC I have XP, and everytime, when I work on old PC I can't stand XP. Maybe Vista need much more memory and is not compatibile with some software, but it's much better version of Windows XP... Why? Advanced search button, new(better) versions of software(try save image in MS Paint in XP and Vista as JPG), UAC and many more.

And stop talking about Vista only bad opinions, if you never used it.

Safari - it's crap on Windows, and even OS X users (myself) don't even use it.

iCab - non-CSS compliant

iPhony - first it's MOBILE, and only works for Palm

Maxthon - takes up a ton of screen real estate

Like I said, all these browser have their own flaws, and IE7 isn't that bad. There's ton of add-ons if you don't like the defaults.

Dude. I understand that EVERY brower is not perfect. I know that icab, and safari suck. some are "specilty" and i only use them cuz i am a nerd. :D but if i where to make a cart of the worst browsers, i would have to include negitive numbers for IE......

Vista sucks, I got bluscreens, lots of bugs, incompatibility, slow performance. XP rules!

Ok, BSOD's are hardware related. There may be bugs for some people, but it's mostly fixed by the update by now.

Incompatibility - just put run in XP compatibility mode. Vista's a whole NEW OS, so it's not surprising about this small issue.

If it's slow, you got a crap computer. Sorry, but a computer with good specs, has Vista running fine on it. Nice try, but you're wrong.

XP works just blazingly fast on what i have now. Why should I spend loads of cash on an upgrade just so I can run Vista ?

As an end user I don't care what's under the hood.

I just want something that works well (fast and reliable) on my hardware. Vista does not do that.

Vista, does take more resources, but most PC's made during that time had low expectations at that time.

These days, you can buy the same specs at pretty much the same price as back then. And I have a 4 year old Sony Vaio that runs Vista fine. It depends on what hardware you buy. I bought something reliable, did you?

Nah, I did update frequently and I've a AMD athlon 3800+ (2.4 ghz), 2GB Ram and Nvidia Geforce 8600 GT.

If you are asking for more.. then this OS will never be on the market.

MS has a lot to learn from Google and Apple... the way I compare MS with Apple/Google is Dictatorship and Democracy... where obviously MS is more Dictatorship (just telling what their employees must do, all money focused and less customer focused). One simple thing I would ask MS is provide a feature in their OS that reports what functionalities are used most... I can bet that it will be a small percentage. This will truly represent why one would want to upgrade OS at all.

Google - likes to tap into privacy for the 'sake of ads'. It's true, why don't you 'Google' it.

Apple likes to lock down it's users. Why else would OS X work on Macs only? iPhone still has issues with 3rd party apps. I work in software, and it's kind of strict to comply with Apple's standards.

No company is by all means perfect.
