@189crazygirl The larger the eye the more light it lets in. The more light that gets in the more vision. Owls are nocturnal (They're active at night) so they need super good vision.

I hope people are not encouraged to even attempt to capture owls for keeping them in captivity, or buy from someone who does for that matter. If found an injured animal contact the respective authority to take care of it promptly. Most species are protected and is pure stupidity to do such thing.

@cooljosephite If you want an owl you had better get over that repulsion to feeding it meat. All owls are carnivorous raptors. The only vegetable matter they get is from the food that is in the guts of their prey. Speaking of which, if all you feed your owl is red meat, you are going to wind up with a malnourished and obese owl. Feed him mice. Believe it or not they need those grains that the mice eat.
