  • When I try to load the texture pack (i have all the correct options turned on) it won't load ANY of the new textures. I tried various plugins and both 1964 and Project 64...

  • Soo Much BLOOM. I like the original one more. And why the hell is the fence made out of metal at the updated version?! (Look carefully before you post a hate comment) The Original textures fit much better into the whole game than the updated ones. Nintendo should remake it with hd textures+models BUT with the old sounds for their upcomming Wii 2 ( i dont know how its called). Overall the Original textures n stuff cant be beaten by much bloom and brigter versions of them. I prefer the Original.

  • ok so i did everything on that link in the description for the texture pack, but when i load the game up, the texture pack doesn't work, and it looks like the original, i have enabled all the options same as the guide said, but it wont work, please help.

  • @IrishLegend26 : i know now that the problem is that the pal n64 rom of zelda is locked at 17fps and the ntsc rom is locked at 20fps since the game was programmed that way back in the day. THERE IS NO WAY AROUND THAT: .....i'm willing to pay good money if someone solves that!

  • Yeah, the hax is quite intrusive. Next version will be even more so, but its needed for some features I want to add.

    I followed the steps for the hi-res guide but when after I run the Rice video setup and go to the PJ64 settings, it gives me an error saying d3dx9_34.dll is missing and another error saying it cant load the RiceVideo6.1.3DX9.dll plugin.... where did I go wrong?

  • Dear Sir, I loved your guide and everything worked out wonderfully! But try as I may I cannot get both the Bloom and the Hi Res features to work. I can make them work separately but I cannot have both the HDR/Bloom and the Hi Res together. Could you help us out?

  • @leesunwoo In order to use both the hi-res textures and the shader pack at the same time, you will need to use the 6.1.3 version of the Mudlord Rice Video plugin. Please keep in mind that the 6.1.3 doesn't support textures larger than 2x the original size in the game (I think that's the limitation), so many of the textures in the texture pack probably won't load. The smaller ones will.

    The texture pack demonstrated in the video above was a much older texture pack which used smaller textures.

  • Thanks for putting all this stuff up on a webpage. Before I found it I was going through all kinds of forum posts trying to figure out the best texture pack, exactly how to install them, etc.

  • @memx13 Yes. The hi-res and shaders are two separate things. You can do just one or the other. I would suggest making sure one works before trying to get both up and running. I personally prefer the look of the hi-res textures by themselves, but the shaders do add a little something extra in some circumstances.

    Hello, I read your guide on how to install the shaders and texture pack. One question however, how do you use both of them at once. The Rice Vid plugin has version 6.14 for texture and 6.13DX9 for shaders. So far I can only use on or the other. Any help would be appreciated.

  • It's not really shading as much as it is just a "bloom" effect. But I like it because it hides jaggies.

    In my opinion they look awesome in combination with the bloom effect.

    Honestly, there are good examples on how to not use this effect and this one is a good example on how to use it. It looks really good. The models appear smoother thanks to this bloom effect.

    Good job on that Federelli! It catches the feel of the original (unlike most other texture packs for OoT which destroy the whole atmosphere of the game).

  • @wiskimike It will not load all the textures because the 6.1.3 plugin only supports textures up to a certain size. This is unfortunate because you can only use the shaders with the 6.1.3 plugin. :(

    i have converted nearly all highress textures to a smaller size! It looks still brilliant (better than on ps3 games etc), doesn't use that much hardware and works very fine :)

    also i modified my shaderfiles so that there is an other bloomeffect with hdr than the original shaders ;)

  • I think I remember it crashing for me when I didn't have the d4rk.dll file (whatever its called) in the right place. Either that or the shader file itself that you copy in place.

    I have exactly the same problem- I can get the texture pack to work or the shader pack to work. I can't make them both work... Like you said- it's different versions of the Rice Plugin.... Confused...

  • @lanpartyguide That's not shading that's just fucking Texture mods to make the "Said" textures appear "Extremely" bright.

    If anything it looks like a Ps2 game on the Ps3 (which has no filtering) in other words it looks like total shit.

    Plus you can do such effects in Direct X 8.0/8.1 mode aside from 9.0 as well as in 7.0 with some tricks.

  • I can't get this to work...I installed it as said and such...But whenever I fire up PJ64, it just crashes. Not even an error message, just shuts down once it loads the rom to 100%.

  • Looks great, but can someone tell me how to changes project 64's FPS limit? Right now it's stuck at 50 but I'd like it to be at 60, but I don't see anywhere to change that setting. If I can turn it off it goes to like 400 fps so I think it can handle 60.

  • dude what's your PC specs?? i play this on 2.11 GHZ triple core with 8800gt oc 2 and 4gb ram on windows 7 it lags annoyingly

  • @iAzraeli i think a remake would be plane dissapointing this game is awesome but the graphics help make it awesome they remind you of how old it is and how great it is without the updated graphics and textures i prefer these graphics to twilight princess
