  • Wow! Thanks Girl! You are just gorgeous and it's easy to watch you give a tutorial as you explain it beautifully!

  • This is so beautiful. I just did it whilst watching your video and plan on wearing it out tonight ballroom dancing. Thank-you so much.

  • You are really beautiful, I would like to be like you!

  • Thank you so much for this video! Did this hairstyle for my first day back to school and I got soo many compliments! ^-^

  • Do you know how to thin hair apart from layers because my hair is sooooo thick, my hairdrsser says it's the thickest she's ever seen. I hate it, but im gonna have to work with it. it isn't straight, it isnt curly, it isnt wavy.... its ummm i unno it just has andom kinks and flicks in it. its a nightmare, it doesnt straighten fully and it doesnt curl i need something to make my hair curl cheaply!! how do i do it!!

  • very nice but how to do if we have a short fringe, and fine hair.... :(

  • You're just too pretty;your hair, skin, smile, eyes are perfect! And also you're really charming :) I'll definitely go out with this hair today

  • I'm so glad I found you! Your video tutorials are among the few that are actually easy to watch and understand -- plus you're very relatable. Well done you! Thanks for the teach! A fan from the Atlantic island of Newfoundland (who's been to Kawaii before!)

  • @VeritasOfAvalon Oh thank you! I just had to reply, because you're the second only "Newfie" I've met! My best friend is married to one. :)

  • You are SO beautiful. And you make everything seem so easy. You're really awesome! Can't wait to see more tutorials.

  • wow, is that what is considered THICK HAIR? interesting

  • I love it! Thank you! <3

    Great tutorial!

  • you're so pretty! this was such a cute tutorial, great job!

  • I found that I REALLY couldn't get the hang of rolling that front bit (like you I have long, thick dark hair) so I improvised and used a nail polish bottle to keep the shape of the roll, and then just slid it off when I got to the top! Amazing what you can do with the stuff lying around on your vanity table :) You're brilliant! Keep up the amazing work. Beautiful, too :) xxx

  • I'm sorry I don't know where else to ask this, but how do you keep that beautiful gray streak staying silver and not brassy? It is just as healthy as the rest of the hair too - atleast from here! Thanks for the tutorial :)

  • @MissSovietBones i guess her hair aint grey its blonde..and i had grey hair it lasted 2 days ..i would also like to know...

  • @MissSovietBones I use a special toner to keep the white colour, but sadly no, it isn't in the best condition so I've very careful with it.

  • you're adorably beautiful:) thanks for all your videos!

  • I've been doing a lot of my own vintage styling since about Feb. And You totally just did my quick pinup hairstyle. I think I love you.

  • Oh my, your gorgeous!

  • I just started doing vintage hairstyles and Im still practicing on my pin curling. Sometimes it's a pain in the you know where, but when i do get it to get the way I want it to it's so worth all of the effort.

  • i love vintage so much, and i've been looking for a hairstyle that can go with all my retro styled dresses! you did a great job with this video and you are totally gorgeous! thanks :D

  • Very nice videos, Thanks for showing that hair can look fab without using hours ^^

  • This is the first video I've seen that actually explains how to do the roll! it was great to see your technique! :D Thanks for this.

  • can this be done if my hair is layered? it's too thick and naturally wavy without layers

  • thanksss!!!!!!

  • @superkawaiimama well it stays the lolnget when i curl it w the iron but im trying to grow it out nd i dnt wanna damage it. so i tried pincurls nd they just come out awfull. i do it when i finish takin a shower nd its damp and i sleep on it so a longg time. and i use hairspray and gel to keep it like together. lotion?

  • @Bluechikk27 Hairspray and gel are major 'no's' for pin curls - you must use setting lotion for best results. I don't use a curling iron, heated rollers are more gentle for the hair and can leave them in longer for a better curl. Must use setting lotion on this too for best results. Forget gel, mousse or anythig like that. Hairspray is only for finishing off at the end.

  • ur hair my hair and my mums hair is like exactly the same(thichk long black). only mine never holds a curl. any advice?

  • @Bluechikk27 That all depends of how you are curling it. What sort of tools you use, how long you leave the set in for and whether you use setting lotion or not... ?

  • SO cool, thanks for this. Your hair is super cool, especially with the streak. I'm so gutted I just had a striaght across fringe cut :-( btw my husband said "Why do woman always lick their hair clips?" when he sees me use my teeth to open the bobby pins!!!

  • Thank you sooo much lol.... I've been trying to do pinup hairstyles forever...and I can never get the hang of it. I just ran into the bathroom now and tried it....you are right the front curl takes some time...but after 5-6 tries I got it down... I love it... this video is amazing <3

  • Oooooow!! : ) You are GORGEOUS!!!

I thought it was much harder to do than it actually is!! Thank you so much, I really appreciate your tutorial. I got a lot of compliments on my hair today!

That comment about you having a soothing playschool voice is CREEPILY ACCURATE. How I miss playschool.

  • You remind me of a Play School presenter becuase of your friendly and soothing voice.

I love the people on here marvelling at the Aussie accent. haha.

  • My hair basically has the same texture and color as yours, and I recently cut it right above my shoulders. After watching your videos I deeply regret doing so. I used to have wonderful hair like yours, and I am trying so hard to grow it out now.

  • I've been trying to figure out who you remind me of for the past ten or so videos.

You're like the more naturally beautiful Katy Perry! Haha.

Love the tutorials, so creative. :]

  • You are so super awesome! Thank you for posting this video. I always have so much trouble with my hair.

Thanks for the style, my hair is super freakishly thick and curly, so I'm always looking for funky styles to help me manage it! Also, I think this'll look greak with my steampunk gear, so I won't have to worry about sacrificing style for convenience sake! Thank you so much dear, you're a lifesaver!

  • ru from kawaii? IM JEALOUS! (if u are lol)

  • Kawaii is a place?? It means "Cute" in Japanese.

  • lol ya its a place in hawaii

  • I think it's spelled Kauai, one of the hawaiian islands, but sounds the same as kawaii. Anyway, thanks for the helpful video!

  • On her blog, she says that kawaii means "cute" in japanese.

  • I know, I meant to reply to the person who said it was a hawaiian island. two similar words.

  • yeah we all know that but its spelt Kauai

  • Thanks all. Hawaiian geography is not really my strong suit. I know more about the islands here near Australia. But that is good to know.

  • Hi there,

I've just made two new tutorials. All ready to edit and post for nest week!

  • Your accent is amazing. :D

    Your pretty as well. :D

  • Hey! It´s a great tutorial. Thank you a lot for making it so simple and fun.

  • You're most welcome. I'm currently making a new tutorial for next week - very fun.

  • Great! I just can´t wait to see!

    ^^!

  • i LOVE how you do your makeup.

i smell a new tutorial lol

  • I've just made a new makeup tutorial, all ready to edit and post for you all next week.

  • Hi! I love your blog and I can't stop watching the 'perfect pin curls' video. I'd really like the brand of the hairspray you use in this and also in one of your other videos. It's in a pink and gold bottle. Thanks so much for posting this, I love it. Keep up the good work! x

  • Oh you are too sweet! The hairspray is by a brand called CEDEL here in Australia. I love its vintage looks.

  • Your hair and your smile really compliment each other. Stunning!

  • Thankyou im going to try this ... but i have extintons in my hair so i think it will be a bit harder soo ... and this really did help alot!

    xoxo

  • r u a hairdresser?

  • No not a hairdresser. Just a somewhat scientific hair experimenter with many many years of trials under my belt. I wouldn't trust myself to cut hair, but I can style the hell out of it. :)

  • Go Melbourne Girls!! There is something about you that I think would be PERFECT for playschool, the way you talk, look down the camera, raise your eyebrows, pronounce words and smile. Love the style, I have tried it before, looks super!

  • lovely, very lovely

  • Wow! That looks great!! (lol thank god my thick hair finally comes in handy for this)

Aww I love your accent. x)

  • absolutely lovely! both you and your hair :)

  • this is such a pretty hairstyle, and your accent is spledid!

  • the front roll was ok... it might be better as a reverse roll... it seemed unsecure... i'd be bummed if my roll came loose! lol nice tutorial though...

  • It all comes down to how you use the bobby pins. You need to secure it close and tight to the head with at least one in the front of the roll and one in the back. The reverse roll looks very different to this when done and doesn't seem to look as good with the side parting.

  • Awesome vid!

  • good job love this vid i been tryin to get this roll thing 4 ever

  • it looks good! i like it w/ the side and low pigtails! cute.. i also like ur blonde streak lol. thx for the tutorial

btw any1.. plz watch my new videos... thx in advance

  • THNX , nice done

  • I love this! You're beautiful too!

  • cool. u look rely lak katie perry!!=]

  • you're so gorgeous! great vid!

  • You're lovely! I am growing my 'u-shaped' bangs out now so I like this style because it still gives me the option to wear 'fringe' w/out actually having to cut them. Thanks, doll!

  • Great video. I roll my bangs on top, but I have never tried to put them on the side like that. It's very original and cute. I will have to go try it now! Thanks! BTW, you are very pretty. :)

  • the roll is much easier with short hair..

    but i have bangs and my hair is different lengths.. which means i have ALOT of hairs sticking out. but i LOVE yours and the blonde looks so nice!:}

  • WOOP go aussies!! lol loverly hair

  • You make me want fair skin so badly !

  • aww.. that looks so cute.. im about to try that! thanxs for making the video!

  • Thatnks for this tutorial! It is now my default hairstyle when my curls are failing me.

  • how can u do a style like this

    with really curly hair

    because i have...like..tightish curls

and my hair is very long

  • I have long curly hair so when i do my barrel roll fringe i straighten that section of hair just coz its easier. I have seen people with really curly hair who have just done it without straightening but it is just mre diff to style.

  • i guess i should give it a shot lol.

im just not the greatest when it comes

up to professional looking hair styles

  • You are so pretty! I love this vid. Very nice!!! :)

  • these are so helpful! i've been trying forever to get my hair like this and i had nobody to show me, but now i know! haha ima go try it tonight!

  • Probably the best tutorial I've seen!

You are gorgeous and I love the way you've colored your hair.
