  • at first i wasn't too sure about the play within a play thing (in case the suspense and terror was lost) but my sister and i were scared stiff right the way through!!!! and the actors were brilliant!!!!! knowing the book doesn't really help with making it less scary, either :)

  • From Broadway... and you filmed it... yes very different from the Fortune's Prod. The stage is far too cluttered with stuff.... Keep basic kipps. Thank you Mr Bunce.

  • @MrOusby Mr Bunce was actually the sound man in real life---- I honestly thought he was just in the play, it sounds a really old-fashioned surname!!

  • Is this scary? I'm going to see it with my school on Tuesday and apparently its really scary but i won't to find out if it is.

  • I'm going to see it on Tuesday too, apparently it's meant to be scary. But personally I think it's going to be shit from what others have said. :|

  • Is the only really scary bit when she's there ?

I'm going to see it with my school , and im trying to find out what to expect :P

  • I saw this with school at the fortune theatre. Very Good. Very Scary

  • saw this last year, on fron row with school. and i must say i agree with everyone about the rocking chair. the worst one for me was when she was sat in the chair rocking back and forth woth her legs out stretched. it just looked so unatural it freaked me out completely. and theres me thinking a play can never be scary lol boy was i wrong.

  • I know how you feel T-T I saw it yesterday and she apprered right beside me plus when he first hear the rocking noise I thought it was a heart beat and then the door flew open I NEARLY PEE'D!!!

  • oh my god

that was my scariest bit too!

The thing that freaked me out was how she zoomed off stage.

Her hoop-skirt makes it look like shes gliding.

    eerie as hell! xx

  • Is this the one at the Fortune Theatre in London?

  • Same play, but this was the short-lived Broadway production from a few years back. There are some differences between this production and the version currently running at the Fortune theater.

  • @jjobie The Woman in Black only played Off-Broadway.

  • @import26 sorry, but your wrong. the original and best theater that it was first show from is the fortune theater in london.

  • @CayenneCanine That's not what I said. I was trying to correct those who said it played on Broadway. It only played Off-Broadway - I'm just referring to the New York productions.

  • @import26 oh, i didnt see the previous comments, i thought you were trying to say that it was only played from broadway...

  • i went to see this too with my school for inspiration for a scary movie. half the class didnt go to sleep that night!

  • i went 2 c this like 3 weeks ago...i f*kin shit myself!! my frend was cryin she was so scared!! :O and the teachers jumped out of their skin! XD

  • LOL

    I loved it

the scariest parts made me say "that is soo cool" no lies

  • OMG!! ME 2!! :O lol!! it was really gd tho...but i still wont go into the drama room on my own wen the curtains r drawn...esspecially after my frend kelcy scared the crap out of me by dressin up as the woman in blak (long black coat and plain white mask) shut the curtains and scared me half 2 deth...AND I NEW IT WAS HER!!! IT WAS MENT TO SCARE MY OTHER FREND!! XD

  • Is it relly this scary?, i seen people exsagerate this play but is it really true all people say?, i'm seeing it tommorow. :)

  • I went to see it with my school in Year 7, and some bits make you jump a fuck load, the entire theatre screamed haha. It depends on if you watch jumpy movies 24/7, if it''ll make you scared :P

  • saw the play in london about a year ago. wanted to go back ever since. seriously scariest thing i have ever seen. the bit with the rocking chair properly freaked me out.

  • i have nightmares about the rocking chair scene!!

and the part where he goes to the door and you hear the scream!! omg!! i'm getting scared talking about it!!

worse thing is when i went t see it i was sat about 3 rows back from the front at the end and i absolutely died when she walks down the aisle through the audience!!

possibly the scariest thing i've encountered and especially since it's a play i didn't expect to be scared!!

  • i know! F*kin hell!!! i screamed my hed off @ that bit!! i hav goosepimples just thinkin about it!!....i was so scared wen i saw that bit i literaly froze on the spot!...im neva gettin a rokin chair! lmao and then my frend kelcy the next day in drama put a long black coat on, a plain white mask, drew all the curtains and scared the sh*t out of me!! XD and i new it was her!! and then she went in the rokin char we hav in the drama room!! :O crap!!

  • Yeah, I saw this play in London too, I was very scared out of my mind. I remember at one point someone screamed in the audience.
