I am eager to see you get 315 for 3 sets of 5, in 3-4 months; my max is 315x1 so I am nowhere close, but your vids help me to aspire to press on. Thanks for all the vids.
That music worked out so perfectly with when you slammed the weights down on that last rep of the last set of bench lol. It's like the composer made the track for this video clip!
@biglogstrongman they are great. Sorry that you cannot find some shoes soon. They make a world of difference. Try either Safe or Enzer. Hope this helps
Tuan where is it that you learn how to train etc? Or could you reccommend where i could find some good info on programs and stuff? I'm making good progress but feel i could be making more, with more/better knowledge.
@twism300 its my monday workout. wednesday is my deadlift day. what powerlifting program do you know that one does deadlfts, squats and bench press in the same day?
@cshslacrosse7 What the hell are you talking aobut. I did go all the way down. That is below parallel and considering I hold the USAPL Texas Squat RAW Record at 198 lbs with a 534 lbs Squat, I believe I know how far I need to go down. So are you some know it all to call me out on my depth? What credentials or merits do you have? How many championships how you won as a RAW Powerlifting? I have 6 titles under my belt. So why are you trying to call me on my depth? What makes you the expert?
@roughneckasian Wow, I asked a simple question and got this rant back? Look, I'm in a weightlifting class and I've been taught by Kyle Pierce (USA Olympic coach) to basically go until my butt basically touches the floor on my squats. Maybe that's the difference between power-lifting and weightlifting squats, I don't know, but excuse me for simply asking. I have found a lot of help in a multitude of your videos, and I didn't mean to offend you.
@cshslacrosse7 calling me out on the depth of my squat is a "huge" insult to anyone that powerlifts. You make it sound like I am doing some bs quarter squat or something of that level. why would I train a squat that would not be deep enough and would get me fouled out of a meet in the first place? When the hips "break" parallel, that is a full squat. Also, this is a powerlifting meet, not an Olympic meet, so yes, there is a "huge" difference in how you train when it comes to squatting.
@zzhomeboy1 only if you do not do your treatment and maintenance to keep your body injury free. Icing the joints down after a tough workout, foam rolling before and after workouts, doing your mobility exercises to insure good flexibility/mobility/muscle balance, sleeping enough, following a solid sports nutrition diet for performance and recover...etc. So powerlifting can hurt the joints in the short and long run if you go about the wrong way.
Please help, I have recently become very un-dedicated to my workout schedule, now when I try to restart I am in incredible pain when i try to push even the slightest bit. Also, do you have any pointers on when to begin pushing for benching? I seem to be off and on with being able to pull off a full 12 rep cycle and have made little progress. Thank you if you find the time to answer.
@nuclearwardwsj I cannot help you. If you are in pain when you do the slightest bit of movement, then you need to see a health care professional. Then after you address that issue, then you need to work with a one on one fitness professional. All in all, something is seriously wrong and you need help if the sightest bit of movement hurts
@ozera16 No because I keep my training balance, work on my posture, do many mobility exercises, do Myofascial Release with The Foam Roller, ice down my joints after a tough workout and many other things. Look at it this way. How long do you think your car would last if you never did any maintinance work on it? Pretty much the body is the same way. So if you are suffering shoulder issues or injuries, then I "highly" suggest you work with someone to figure out what you are doing wrong
@Deutschehordenelite this is only my Monday workout. Deadlifts are on Wednesday. You do not train by doing all 3 lifts in the same workout all the time. For more information about different workouts for getting ready for a powerlifting meet, trying researching powerlifting workout templets.
@SmexyPC not on this day. too tired. but you can add in a 1 or 2 assistance work to help with improvement of your bio mechanics. But sometimes, the shear volume of the workout is enough. Not young as I use to be.
@ricardobcl considering the volume of the sets and that I am training 80% of my 1 rep max or higher, the belt is much needed for safety. Also, if I wait till the day of the competition to use a belt, what makes you think that my body will respond well with it on when I have not been using it. Last, if you want to see core strength, I have a video showcasing me doing a 556 lbs RAW Deadlift withou a weight belt. So it is safe to say my core strength is where it needs to be.
@roughneckasian I have guys tell me I need to wear a belt for the heavy dealifting I do. I never had problems without the belt and I got tired of people every now and then putting that out there for me so I decided to see what benefits I get for wearing the belt. I was working with 365 heavy set deadlift and halfway up on my 3rd rep something popped in my lower back and I collapsed backwards taking the weight with me. Now I just do without belt my core is obviously stronger than the dam belt!
@PhIiNgOhY the belt only acts as a second exteral wall to keep you more up right. However, one must also understand how to use the belt in order to max its ability to perform and support you. Alot of guys just assume that if you put on a belt, it will automatically work. That is not the case. Also, there are those who perfer not to train with the belt, which is fine. Just train the way you feel the best.
hey can you tell me why you do 6 sets?
