hey brother , aqui esta la solucion , yo tenia el mismo problema y lo solucione experimentando, y ya que las .dll que te voy a mencionar lo que hacen es impedir que el juego use el games for windows live, lo unico que hize fue quitarlas de la carpeta de instacion del gta 5. bueno espero te sirva y a todos los que tengan este problema.

1. Install 1.0.7.0 patch (You can use crack from 1.0.4.0)

2.Use gamebooster. (Use google for download)

Solution:

Delete xlive.dll in you GTA 4 directory, and everything will come on normal!

a ver para usted mis queridisimos pollos ami me paso lo mismo pero yo les voy a solucionar este problema cuando pusieron el crack vieron uno k decia "xlive.dll" esta putez de live es para jugarla sin linea asi que quitarla eliminar y ya si es que no funciona es por que hay varios .dll que han inyectado "los dll" son modificadoos para jugar sin linea

les recomiendo:

1ro --hacer una instalacion limpia

2do--ponerle el crack que digan reemplazar los que no dicen reemplazar borren y ya juega ok

when i try to play online,like i give my id and password for GFWL it says "dowloading profile" and then, it shows one or the other error,

"couldnt connect to the server" or something like that.

I have GFWL installed and i have an account, i have Rockstar Social Club installed and accounts for both, i even linked the accounts on the Social Club home page but it still wont work.
