  • Beautiful fan.... are the blades solid brass? Also am I the only one thinking that is would be at home in a steampunk/ industrial decorated house?

  • That sounds like a train in openbve

  • This is the prototype of the new electrically-powered aircraft!

  • that is one great fan. where did u get it?

  • @ryanfish91 side of the road.

  • @V8Jagnut why would someone leave for dead, a perfectly good fan like that

  • Instant hair cutter

  • can a find a 20 inch fan that produces 15 mph of wind speed?

  • What a beauty! Was this for a kitchen?

  • Its so cute :)

  • Brad, what did you do to remove the paint from the blades?.

  • @TheCoolmaster100 i think steel wool and brasso. man that was a long time ago.lol

  • I have a friend who has one of these! his was made in 1916. I`m guessing this one was made the same year or a little later. These fans were made up until 1928 with brass blades, By the 30s & 40s this type of fan was made a lot lighter in construction.

  • @roybo1930 cool. thanks for the info.

  • Wow...it also looks to be very well balanced! Not bad for something found on the side of the road.

  • @uxwbill yer it was a nice find but it take a lot of work to get the blades that nice.

  • what year??

  • @isethaitchison i think around the 30's-40's.

  • pretty fast...barely any pitch on the blades.

  • @isethaitchison yer thats the way they were back then.

  • The blades look like brass. Are they brass?

  • yer id say so

  • nice balance on that fan !

  • yep. i should get it out and give it a run.. its been 9 months according to this.lol

  • thats a nice one

  • thanks. good to see your back.

  • because it has aluminum end caps, could be made in the 30's or 40's, older ones were cast iron.

  • thanks for watching. wow you are good at this. that's still a old fan. i have a lot of fans.lol

  • I like that Elcon fan are you going to get a box made for it and make into a box fan? you could with it and it would be powerful. I would like to find that model fan. because its a really old fan compared to my fans.

  • this fan is nice. i was thinking of making a stand for it. or i could sell it. what do you think its worth?

  • It could be worth between $30 or $50. but I would keep it because they arnt a common fan and just paint the motor cover & support bars and the ring it is in a nice cobalt blue. But if you wanted to sell it thats your desision.

  • It could be worth past $60 to

  • i will keep it and do it up. i like old things. if i gave you the modal No could you find out how old it is? some one say it could be 1920. could it be that old?

  • Yes I will post the model number and I will see what I can decifer from it.

  • cool. its 16 inch wide. Elcon.

    Type. HPAK3/2

    Volts. 230 50Hz 60watt 1260RPM

    No. BE.

    Made in. Melburn Australia.

thats all it has on it. and its about 25Kg

  • I couldnt decifer it but I guess it could be made between 1900 /1929 or 1930 any of the early nineteens

  • so it could be 80 -110 years old. wow thats old. i would think it was from 20's or 30's.

  • I think it could be made between 1918 or 1930 now I think about it more

  • yer. it could not be older than that.

  • good thing you found that. that fans is really cool

  • You should call it the finger eater lol!!! Better watch the fingers around the blades yikes! haha.

  • lol

  • so what age is she then any idears !

  • i would think 30's or 40'.

  • id say teens or 20's! it is definatly not 40's

  • yer i have no idea

  • ive been collecting fans for years now and that definently looks like teens or

20's to me. i say the older the better so thats a good find!

  • it is nice. old fans are the best.

  • Nice job polishing the blades!

  • thanks. some dick Had painted them red.
