The Kresy are the eastern regions of Poland that were stolen (and never given back) by the Soviet Union in 1939. The Poles of this region were forcibly removed by Stalin, many were exiled to Siberia or just outright killed; the ones that survived were sent to populate the areas he removed the Germans from (East Prussia, Pommerania, and Silesia). I believe that this was a great unpunished evil and that the pre-1939 borders should be restored and all Russians expelled.
Longer than that, much longer than that, but I think it's fair considering what the Prussians did to the Poles. At any rate, I'd be happy to see Pommerania, East Prussia, and Silesia under German control again (and the Kresy under Polish control).
Danzig should remain Polish. It was founded by Poles and the surrounding area (Westpreussen) was always majority Polish, even in Imperial times. The borders need to go back to what they were in 1919, at least for the eastern ones, and Danzig should remain Polish.

The Kresy are the eastern regions of Poland that were stolen (and never given back) by the Soviet Union in 1939. The Poles of this region were forcibly removed by Stalin, many were exiled to Siberia or just outright killed; the ones that survived were sent to populate the areas he removed the Germans from (East Prussia, Pommerania, and Silesia). I believe that this was a great unpunished evil and that the pre-1939 borders should be restored and all Russians expelled.

Danzig should remain Polish. It was founded by Poles and the surrounding area (Westpreussen) was always majority Polish, even in Imperial times. The borders need to go back to what they were in 1919, at least for the eastern ones, and Danzig should remain Polish.

It seems that you dont know the danzig history, danzig has its own history, so learn first and then talk. danzig as a wellknown city of merchants with german tongue was established by the pommerellen (kashubian) which were at that time independent and no part of poland. then the german knights came and rouled danzig. but 1454 the danzigers fighting against the germans beside poland and therefore they got freedom and independence, so from 1454 till 1793 danzig was a independent republic.

Part 2-By the 2nd partitian of Poland it passed to Prussia in 1793. It was taken by the French under Lefebvre in 1807. In that same year it was made a commonwealth. It was besieged by the Allies in 1813 & taken after 11 months in 1814. Also in 1814 it was restored to Prussia. Population (1890) 120338. The book says-Pommerellen was formerly the western part of west Prussia, west of the Vistula. It belonged to Poland till 1772. The population of Prussia in 1890 was 29,957,367.

Hi- I consider mayself to be Anglo-Germanic. I have an old book written in the late 1800s called "The Book of Names". I like to read the book as it was written before WW1 and WW2 so has no knowledge of such. It says, "Danzig/Gdansk was the capital of the Duchy of Pommerellen& mentioned as early as 997. It passed 2 the Teutonic Order about 1305-10 &4a time was a Hanseatic City.It came under the supremacy of Poland in 1466 but retained a large amount of independance. By the 2nd partician.......

W sumie gdyby nie Gdańsk to dużo mogłoby się nie stać na świecie, bo przyjmuje się to miasto jako symboliczne miejsce wybuchu II wojny światowej i kolebkę Solidarności i początku upadku komunizmu w tym rejonie Europy. Można powiedzieć, że te 51 lat , w których przez pierwsze 6 była wojna a pozostałe 45 komunizm w Polsce i innych państwach Europy środkowej jest nieodłącznie związane z Gdańskiem i gdyby nie moje kochane miasto to mogłoby się wiele nie wydarzyć. Pozdrawiam mieszkańców :D

Ja bym powiedział, że niemieckie gdyż tu było wówczas 89% niemców i 11% pozostałych, w tym zdecydowana większość polaków, język urzędowy - zgaduj, hymn po niemiecku, waluta Mark i Pfenning, nawet mam gdzieś jeszcze takie miedziaki z herbem Gdańska z dwudziestolecia międzywojennego.
