  • LOL he's such a kid a cute fun playful guy <3 I love you Syd!!

  • XDDD the second half of this video amused me greatly XP

  • Who the fuck is the idiot with a glass of wine at a table in the middle of a room trying to be nihilistic but failing horribly and ruining syds home movie? Biff!

  • shine you crazy diamond

  • @Pops1800 See emily play :D

  • WTF at the guy drinking wine omg I can't stop laughing

  • Is that Iggy the eskimo girl that they show in the beginning?

  • Comment removed

  • its very nice my frend.

  • Tripping out, some of that was staged for whatever reason, I saw that before. Obviously the guy at the table is some years later

  • The best of all times!!!!!! R.I.P

  • Here's the link to part two of Salvador Dali's "An Andalusian dog" (which seems to be the right title), recorded in 1929 (!):

    "youtube.XXX/watch?v=WUvGzfkfo4I&feature=related".

Again: I think you guys know what to do with those "X":es, right?

How come "Pink Floyd" and/or "Syd Barrett" was about 40 years after their time (and the so called "expressionist movement"), when some people claim they were ahead of their time?

    Hm...

Maybe someone can explain that to me, rather in a decent manner.

  • Link to Salvador Dali's "the Andalusian dog":

    youtube.XXX/watch?v=HUaP-IB-2Gs&feature=related

I sure, that you guys know what to to with those "X":es.

    Right?

  • If you guys think, that this video is weird, it only means you haven't watched "Salvador Dali's" expressionist movie "the Andalusian Dog"

    !!!

Watch that one and then return here.

    Hahahaha

Boy/girl: are you in for a treat?!

  • I'm not sure that there's supposed to be a meaning to this video. Maybe it's just experimental and more than likely drug orientated.

  • what is the song?

  • Urine flowing

  • what is this song please?

  • @TehLAWL1 see emily play

  • they guy in the blue shirt has a pipette so i would assume he puts liquid acid into the glass of wine before he drinks it

  • hmmmm, this video makes total sense!?

  • Yeah, real creative. You'd be too if you'd drop some Orange Sunshine

  • Here I Go

  • i dont know how to restrain myself but let me ask you what the f...... has to do that guy in blue shirt in this video.

  • He got high...

    vine aka lsd, lol

  • I cry bullshit. I think someone wanted themselves to be seen/involved with the footage; therefore, there is great un-tampered footage to be seen. It's the classic bootleg stamp- and unfair.

  • no, the author is Barrett

  • I like his music.

  • Syd was so cute.

  • Alan's Psychedelic Breakfast?

  • Hi Anne, the website is called The Holy Church of Iggy the Inuit and the posts regarding the Syd Barrett home movies are called Love in the Woods (Pt. 1 & 2). These were part of a Pink Floyd documentary apparently made by Nick Mason and Storm Thorgerson and only shown once (at the Knebworth festival on 30 June 1990). Mick Rock probably made the movie with Syd and Iggy.

  • You can know everything about these images in an article on a website about Iggy the Inuit. It's actually a mix of a video in 1967 (Syd wears a lilac shirt and the blond girl is his girlfriend Lindsay Corner) and a video in 1969 (Syd wears a yellow shirt and climbs a tree with his black-haired girlfriend Iggy).

  • SYD WAS BORN IN SYPRUS.

  • This is not a home video, this is the music video of "See Emily Play"

  • it is! a home movie i've seen it without the music + video's were not in in general use at this time most used 16 or 8mm film..

  • Don't you think if it was a music video it would have the other members of Pink floyd in it?

  • PF's members allways sayd averyone knew their songs, but not the members faces, but yes, I investigated and it's a home made video.

  • So who can you see apart from syd in it?

i can only see syd and and two girls.

  • 0:23 is the sexiest part

  • i just watched this again and the water noise is also something you could hear on acid, out of nowhere i was grabbing the mail at 2 in the morning tripping balls and i started hearing that same exact noise, hard to say whatever that means, just trying to figure this video out

  • the guy at the end does something before he pours the wine with two vials at :41 seconds, its hard to tell what but, he dranks the wine and then starts acting like he's tripping, grabbing his neck, staring off, hearing a noise then looking in the direction very fast, staring with mouth open. all things ive done on a trip, i think the movie could just simply be about taking acid. simple as that. just my .02 cents

  • Junkies used to call 'Dark Side Of The Moon' the 'Black Side Of The Spoon' lil trivia for ya there...lol

  • Aw...Lovely lovely Syd, bless 'im.

  • Was that Syd laughung? If it was, YAYS!!!!

  • You can hear it on "Shine On You Crazy Diamond (part 1)", at the same time of the second verse.

  • see emily play :)

  • this short movie with Iggy ,Linsey Corner ,David Gale (the guy with the hat blowing bubbles) is during that chaotic time when he live in 101 cromwell road ...The famous and notorious flat where some say was taking spiking is tea or coffey with acid....every morning!!Man... i just wish that we could have more info about that flat.

  • I like his walk, it has a swagger to it:)

  • A man so full of life. Who fried his brain and spent the last 30 plus years of his life in isolation.

Living in his mom's house eating pork chops and getting fat. And watching tv.

    A sad end.

  • Actually, it wasn't too bad at all. He was quite happy throughout the rest of his life after he stopped taking lsd; some people just don't belong in the public eye.

  • I hope you are right.

And I shouldn't have posted that comment. Heck I don't know the man.

  • @ariellecelestem

Nice to hear he enjoyed his time back in Cambridge. Did he pick up a guitar in his years of isolation? Any more infos about his calm life after London?

  • I don't think he played his guitar much more. He did enjoy gardening, painting/photography and doing D.I.Y. on his house, though. His sister said he had even written an unpublished book about the history of art. Hope that helps.

  • TE AMO SYD!

  • yo tambien!

  • ...alrighty then

  • The man drinking the wine...isn't he the same guy who appeared on Pink Floyd 'Delicate Sound of Thunder' ? He modeled as the man rowing the boat in "Signs of Life" and was also in "On the Run" (bed flies in the air then crashes in the arena). He had long hair in those movie clips. It looks like him.

  • you knew or met syd?

  • THIS IS SO FUCKING GOOD HEY YOU 5 STARS

  • Wot's... uh the deal with the be-denimed dude at the end? Was he having an acid flashback?

  • I don't have an answer for you, but I thought I must tell you how clever you are!

  • Well, clearly the man was enjoying a good bottle of wine.

  • ????? This was really cool but extremely weird...I think if I ever have a boy I'll name him Syd....he's so creative and for some reason I find him very adorable....

  • @ragtimegals his real name was Roger Keith Barrett

  • @ragtimegals Believe me, finding him adorable is not a hard thing to do- so do i :D

  • @ragtimegals That's because he IS adorable!!!! He's sweet & innocent like a child :D ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

  • @SydzDarling4Eternity Yes he absolutely is! I'm in love with him.

  • Cool Vid

  • I've got a bike you can ride it if you like. This was what he called his itty bitty ditty when he played with Gerald on the couch. So brilliant in a way yet void for you. Oh well

  • Syd made a lot of sense... to himself. I wish there was better incite to his fractured phyche

  • Syd Barrett was predisposed towards "mental illness" whatever that means, due to natural neurotransmittor imbalances or inability to return to balance. Without taking drugs, he would have likely had problems in his life. Good reason why the govt't should legalise all drugs and have some of them, such as LSD available only under prescription. Doctors and individuals would be educated and drug use would be monitored, reducing risk of Syd Barrett syndromes happening.

  • i agree!

  • I didn't mean to post that comment below THERE, where it is. How do these computer things work?

  • Click on LIST all Comments and it will put them in the proper context. Also use Refresh (F5)

  • For a second there, I thought the guy at the end was going to slowly look into the camera, and say, "don't do drugs."

  • hahahahahahaha that was funny!

  • Syd Barrett may have lived a much longer life, possibly holding off a mental break down, until much later in life. His excessive use of drugs, signed the end of Syd very young in life, had we known what we know now about mental illness,it could have maybe been a different story.

  • i named my kid emily cause of this song

  • Don't let your kid named Emily do as much LSD unless she's a little better grounded.

  • thanks for the tip

  • Thank God Alan Parsons came along!

  • i'm 12 watch my syd barret, beatles, black sabbath covers

  • i read somewhere syd shaved off all his pubes and glued them onto his eyeballs

i think it was in the News Of The World

  • wow where did you get this video this is like syd barett during the pink floyd days in 1967 home video!!! and in color. wow this is great coolest thing ive seen today this stuffs gotta be released

  • I love seeing Syd happy;laughing,blowing bubbles...He was sweet.

  • Yeah what is that noise at :44? I don't think it was a cat purring.

  • is sounds like an aquarium!

  • well yeah sure the water noise does, although I'm not sure why it is so loud when it doesn't even appear on the video. What I'm talking about is the "farting" noise. I mean I have no clue why something so random like that would be in the video, but then again I have no clue what else it could be?

  • maybe the guy just got excited

and just ripped one ..I don't know.

  • haha true, but it sounds rather unrealistic as if someone just programmed it or something. very random and not sure why it would be in there even if it was real, but then again I have no clue what else it could be.

  • Farts!?!?! I was expecting something serious! HA!! I guess I still haven't "grown up". (I will grow up once I have a reason to, no use wasting the years.)

  • Sounds like a cat purr--didn't Syd like cats? More believeable than him just sitting around farting and recording it.

  • ...and the guy at the end is NOT the artist Dougie Fields (the artist who lived with Syd in Earls Court). In fact, Dougie still lives there.

  • Syd got hold of some liquid LSD bottles, laid out hundreds of sugarcubes in rows and put two drops on each at a party them. Syd had his plum, orange and matchbox and was sitting staring at them during his trip. Whatever he was into was his whole world - to him the plum was the planet Venus and the orange was Jupiter. Syd was floating in space between them

  • Too bad there are no more hippiez n' stonerz to party n' prance with NE more

Modern society n' music(most, not all) sucks shit

  • True where is the freedom with the music these days. Songs these days have a definative begining and ending, these bands before would rock on and on and on, and get lost, make up crap spur of the moment.

  • Anti-social.

  • And then someone--I think Storm--ate Syd's "Venus" in one bite... Syd was in shock for a moment and then just grinned.

    ...

  • Damn dude, u make me wanna do lsd! lol

  • Syd frolicking in the park with some pretty girls.... Fine with me.

  • the man at the end is the painter that lived in the same flat as syd in 1970.

  • if you look carefully, at the end you can see the guy mixing a vile of acid in with his wine, just like syd did.

  • The guy in the video is definitely relevant somehow. The orange, the plum and the matchbox indicate this. There is also a pyramid on the table, a skeleton's arm and a dead monkey. Any offers on what this means?

  • i read someware that when he tripped out he used the plum different planets and the matchbox was like a rocket ship xx

  • Is that Iggy the Eskimo in the video? What happened to her? I've never heard anything of her.

  • From what I remember seeing somewhere, she married some rich guy.

  • Yes it is. This movie (and a bunch of others) is discussed at the Holy Church of Iggy the Inuit.

  • Answering SlugThumper's question: The girl with Syd is indeed Iggy.

  • you know what it seems like to me? someones just taped over syd's home movies with a wine advert. thats probably a more logical answer.

  • The dude at the end is not syd but he is in the video......

  • The guy at the end is the same actor that can be seen in the footage shown during the "Pulse" shows, except there he has long hair. Here, just like in the Pulse footage, he is suppose to represent Syd.

  • Well, that is cool you think you know more than anybody when it comes to Pink Floyd. That really tells a lot about your character....

  • Random bloke at the end having a piss up. Hmmm... The Orange, Plum and matchbox are reference to one of Syds acid trips, Also there is a song by Steve Peregrine took (early percussionist in Marc Bolans Tyrannosaurus Rex) Called "Syds Wine", probably no link but tere you go!

  • I've seen this video before, like 3 or 4 years ago. of course its not syd. thats a given. its meant to be an analagy of sorts, of the syd in the late 80's early 90's reminising on the old days. like it comes to him in quick flashes. surprising himself.

  • what a bunch of crap - that video. Pointless compilation of videos with some bloke at the end who is not Syd. Stop rumour-mongering!

  • I'm wavering a little now, I think my foot's starting that big swing... I couldn't dig up anything on this vid. Creepus, jchok, jegard, and dsk333 made some rather good points ...ashes2ashes001 please share some facts!

  • Syd my bollocks! If that guy with the wine glass is Syd, then I'm David Gilmour! ;-)

  • I dont know who the guy is, but on the table there is a plum, an orange and a matchbox. this is what Syd was reportedly playing with and kept for hours the first time he did acid.

  • syd barrett el mejor, descance en paz.

  • u morons...that is 100% absolutely not syd barrett sitting at the table...if u want to make a feeble attempt at thinking you know pink floyd then i welcome u to try me on facts...

  • what i got out of this vid was an older more refined man looking back at his wild youth (better times???)

  • The guy with the wine is definitely not Syd. Furthermore, the footage looks like it was recorded off of a TV screen, hence the glare. I think someone cut himself or a friend into this footage for some sort of effect, but its intent has been lost over the years.

  • Unless I need a correction on this one, yes I'm serious. But please someone, I too need to be ABSOLUTELY sure on this. The look just doesn't seem to fit the pattern we read about. If someone comes up with a correction, I'll gladly swing my own foot around and kick my big...

  • The guy at the end is Syd. Strange look for him, but, yes that's him. He's quite thin and unexpectively sporting in the shoot. That look didn't last long. Was taken after his solos, and just before going absolutely recluse. During the shoot, Syd was doing art such as painting and writing. He was so much in another world of thought. No fun dealing with a fragmented mind. RIP

  • You cant be serious.

  • i think the guy at the end might be the painter syd was living with when he recorded 'madcap'. the front cover is taken from that flat and i'm sure i recognide that bloke as the one he was living with

  • The guy at the end ruins it!

  • So what have you decided the end means?

  • check out 2001 a space oddissey's end (wined and dined?)

  • Shine On You Crazy Diamond

  • SHINE ON! Peace, Syd.

  • NIGHTY NIGHT SYD R.I.P YOUR DIAMOND WILL NEVER STOP SHINING

  • R.I.P. Syd. You changed my life utterly. No compromise.

  • syd's dead :-(

  • Iggy the Eskimo!

  • There is some relevance to that guy at the end, but I can't remember what it is.

  • oops sorry for the repeat. -_-

  • the dude that was sittin at the desk is syd barretts mind...hes goin insane...

  • Aparently he works at Gilmour's houseboat, he's in a whole bunch of screen films

  • ah is the dude like having flashes of memory?

  • The guy at the end does have some resemblance to Pink Floyd (Can't remember....). This film was used at the Knebworth 1990 concert as Pink Floyd's backdrop.

  • super annoying to have 2 separate movies!

  • I don't understand the ending...
